Finally a video that just show how to target shoot with one hand, without the paranoid talks about shooting while injured or shooting at someone who shoot back.
Most modern .22's have a built in "stop" that only allows the firing pin to protrude just far enough to ignite the primer. However, some older .22's won't have that feature, and the firing pin will literally slam into the chamber face, which isn't good. If you're not sure... Place a small piece of masking tape across the face of the chamber, and see if it leaves a mark, when you dry fire. I actually had to file some material off of the "stop" on my 10/22. It wasn't allowing the firing pin to protrude far enough to get reliable ignition, and I was having light strike issues.
Yet another excellent NSSF video! I hope Doug Koenig will be doing a whole series, like Ryan Cleckner's Rifle series. Possible topics - breathing - grip - strength exercises - eyesight/glasses - pistol preparation and cleaning - choice of ammunition/reloading - introduction to the disciplines he's competing in ... World class introduction and solid advice from a world class shooter ...
All kudos and credit to the NSSF for this excellent initiative.
Best regards, Rob
Great video and tips for competitive shooting. Everyone should see these fundamental tips before they even shot their first shot, so they now what the fundamentals is. If you start training the wrong way, you will only train yourself worse. These tips are gold.
I use a 3lb hammer held at the end of the handle to help develop my hand control/steadiness
Thanks man, at this point I'm better with my slingshot than my revolver... I'm working on it and this helps a lot. Cheers from Normandy.
I wish all instructions were this easy to understand and relate to, great work, thanks! Most importantly aside from squeezing the trigger is breathing (or rather teqniques for holding your breath) during a shot, but maybe you cover this in another film.
Nice
easy style of video.
Thanks
At last I know now why it is difficult to dry-fire with some rimfire weapons.
Outstanding tutorial! Thanks for making this available!
Thank you!! Minus the sales and ego of most videos!!!
Good points, thanks!!
Watched them all! Very informative! Thank you Doug!!
Thanks... helpful.
Great video. Do you exercise the muscles with weights or just dry fire the gun. How many seconds per rep and how many reps?
i wish i could talk to a founder of one of these foundations so i could better understand the template one would use to get something like that off the ground and up and running.
Thank you for the where to shoot where to shoot.
What kind of scope are you using?
Shooting and precision hitting. Bullseye hitting.
What do you think about Molly coated lead pistol bullets? This is without the wax treatment. Just tumbled.
