I met them this summer on a flight from Miami to Jamaica. Rui Hachimura, Michael Blackson, and his wife were all in first class. The Rae Sremmurd sat in the back of my wife and me. I have no idea how these ninjas got passed TSA. Lol They reeked of weed and cologne, and one didn’t have a shirt. They slept the entire flight. However, they seemed mad cool. A young boy asked for a pic at the Montego Bay Airport, and they gave it to him. I thought that was dope.
Can’t lie they were the soundtrack to the turn up era or at least one the top contributors. We have families, kids, and mortgages now we can’t be lit every weekend they had a dope run though😂🫡
Their last album was super nice as well. They have a great discography especially if cornered into party rap. They’re not done as artists yet and i hope they just keep creating thru time despite how mainstream hype and popularity moves.
I still listen to their songs when I’m in the mood… just because they “faded out” doesn’t mean I won’t listen to some of their songs, I had great memories when I used to go clubbing in that era. Everything has a season and a run. Lol didn’t expect for them to continue the run for 10+ years, there will be a new duo and group that will be hot and then they’ll fade away too, that’s apart of life I guess.

You didn’t mention Swae Lee having to go solo because Slim keeps beating on his BM. The times they were about to announce a new project, here go slim Jimmy, coming home drunk and beating his gf. Super bad press.
Can you make a video of rapper Belly, watch his drink champs episode: not all of ppl know what hes credited on/for and Jay Z know his potential..first song I ever heard of his was featuring Kurrupt and called "i'm the man" I really thought from his Ottawa Canada days to where he is now would make him much more talked about
Rae Sremmurd to me were the 2010s Outkast as far as their different styles....as an "big UNC" keeping up with this generation, I appreciated their music and those party vibes when they were at the height of their popularity
I believe had they pivoted into other styles of music outside just the turnt vibe, they could’ve had abit more staying power. Also, Jxmmy should’ve leaned more into a different kind of rap after SL3 I see how it could’ve worked out differently because we all knew Swae was always gonna take off

At some point I knew Swae was gonna leave. He was the Shawn Michaels to Jimmy’s Marty Gennetty. He had to go solo and use his sound on his own to make more of a way for himself.
@@Mo1683 his style is more suburban geared is what I'm saying he has the mainstream appeal and approach sway wants the Disney z100. Jimi is that hot 97 Worldstar type. 🤣

Rae Sremmurd was a duo from Tupelo, Mississippi. I didn’t listen to their music until I heard a piece of it. I didn’t like their music at all. The 2010s were the worst decade of trashy hip hop music and mediocre music with very weak lyrics. We had a lot of countless one-hit wonders messing up the genre. Hip Hop has been trash for a very long time now and it’s not getting any better. The duo is still active and released an album this past year.
The Ringtone Rap era of the mid 2000s has to be the worst in my opinion. This era made Soulja Boy famous, and brought countless one hit wonders of terrible singles with over simplified beats and weak lyrics (Crank That, Laffy Taffy, Chain Hang Low, Chicken Noodle Soup, Pop Lock & Drop, etc)
@@ge8198Your year must have been 93 or something because that era is what Hip Hop needed at the time. That era gave Hip Hop a breath a fresh air with more Have Fun vibes than Gangster New York vibes. Now we back to gangster vibes. Just on steroids now

Still one of the greatest duos. To even have a 4 year run in hip hop like they had is rare. Salute to Rae Sremmurd, can't say I didn't enjoy the run.
Couldn’t have said it better they took the opportunity new boys dropped and took advantage of it
Can you do one on AZ that rapped with nas bro was 🔥🔥🔥
Can you do one on Mos Def??
4 years ? 2014-2016 , after 2016 I didn’t hear from them except Swae Lee on the Unforgettable song with French Montana
That’s just me
Can we get an episode on Taylor Bennett? He’s Chance The Rappers brother, I thought he would’ve been more successful than he is.
They completed the assignment, much respect. Their hit songs still pop in my head and I listen to them from from time to time.
They were a breathe of fresh air, it’s rare to see black rap bands or duos now.

Great run. I love their music because it was different. They were good together but what made the duo work. Was Sew Lee undeniable talent.
Them boys somewhere having the time of they life right now...They rich and still young, so they won...
Swae and Diddy had a fling. That's all that I remember about these two.
Party music kinda changed, they’re still talented. Last album was great, they still sound like themselves. SREMM LIFE
