Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is a 2017 multiplayer tactical first-person shooter video game developed by Antimatter Games and Tripwire Interactive and co-published by Tripwire Interactive and Iceberg Interactive. It is a direct sequel to 2013's Rising Storm and is set during the Vietnam War.

You're just stuck on the mindset of, 'I need to suppress,' notice how you get more kills when you took it slow and single/double tapped, but then you keep going back to 3-5 shots per guy which is inefficient.
SKS feels fantastic to use.
Until it fucking bugged when the enemies surround you.

I saw a red back crawl behind my desk and was worried it was going to bite my foot, also there's a house spider which evicted us from the garage so that's great

The death of the resort 24/7 server brings me great pain. That server had regulars and we binged the crap out of it. Had so much fun.

The SKS reload is poopoo (slow and often cancels) but the ironsight is great
Honestly the MAS-49 sucks the most to use cause of its sights IMO
yeah the sights are a no go for me too.
The sights are good if the enemy is stationary but are absoulte garbage against a moving target. SKS is a much better rifle imo
Lol it's the best rifle in game, does a lot of damage and it's pretty quiet
It’s interesting how divisive the MAS is. I personally love it and while the sights certainly aren’t great I don’t mind them too much. I can totally see why they could be a dealbreaker to some people though

I think my guess would be that the best use of the SKS-45 is for keeping a weapon fully topped up at all times. You have a crapton of spare clips, so reloading whenever you expend 4 or more rounds will always keep you topped up and never left with a magazine with less than 8 rounds available at any given time.
In other words, it's good for players who suck at ammo management. You count to 10 shots and you're out, you never have to consider how many rounds are left in a mag you're putting away that may cause problems in the future, and it's a very simple weapon to use in general. However, all if this is null if you're actually good at managing your ammunition, so the Type 56 and AKM are straight upgrades lol.
Please never stop these videos. Rising storm has a special place in my heart and you create such amazing content. Please upload more oftennnnn

A big compliment to how this game was made is how almost all the weapons are 100% usable in their own way. There's no filler or things just in there to get you to grind up to something better
I love the SKS. I find it incredibly satisfying to use, but it does depend on the map. You gotta slow down your playstyle just a bit.
That soundtrack background musak is gold
I always liked the SKS when I don't manage to grab sniper, I find tbe iron sights very accurate even at 250 meters, also got my furthest unscoped headshot with it at 340 meters 😅

most of them are like sub lvl 10
out of the guns the VC get in the early cp, I´d say the SKS is probably the most reliable, even though the reload is truly awful

I just reinstalled RS2V today on a newer better laptop after I had a War Thunder related incident on my older slower laptop, but what I found in my stats was that the SKS made up 24% of my ~340 kills (not a lot considering I have a 0.34 KD). God do I miss dying to napalm right off of spawn and shooting suspiciously helmet shaped rocks out of panic.
I use the sks strictly to inflict the emotional damage of getting got by a sks
i will agree reloading it is frustrating but it is nice to use.
Man I recognized these people in the kill feed, must be playing on the ONLY Asian server on Earth.

I got pissed when they removed the SKS for RPG for NLF and PAvN early war. The SKS was my favorite semi rifle in the game until they added the Garand.

what pc do you have? game look so smooth to me. i own r 5 3400 12 ram, 512 HDD, rx 6500 xt. overall i ger around 50-70 fps on the lowest graphics with no FXAA
Ryzen 7 5700x, RTX 4070ti, 32GB of ram and NVME m.2 SSD
I only use the SKS to role play as Furiosa from Mad Max;
also, VC's M1 Carbine is great because it masks your shots from southern forces, to an extent
M1 or M2 carbine on semi with the large mags is great for using the guns as plinkers since they have minimal recoil and lets you spam mouse1 accurately, i pick it a lot more than AK
I’d actually use the M1 with 15 rounders just so I could carry more total shots

SKS is tits. Really makes you think out engagements and encourages hit and run tactics. When I play RPG I use it to get my hands on an M16 which also tricks enemies nearby when you shoot.
Using an SKS is like using an AK-47 with 20 bullets less + no auto mode.
Playing the sks will make you better/ more accurate with the ak

I play this game on a computer with intel i5 2400, gt 730, win10 64 bit and annoyingly direct x9
SKS on semi auto is hella fun. Tho the reloading animation thingy you mentioned sucks balls.
it's absolute dogshit in this game, and i sometimes still use it for historical purposes as it was the 2nd most common weapon in North Vietnamese hands.
the reload animation makes the gun irredeemable, and i ALWAYS wait until its fully done, you know it's finished when the full ammo indicator pops up on your screen.

Sks would be better if the reload was a bit faster imo. MAS and AK do both its roles better
Ya should use the S.K.S like a battle rifle and not an assault rifle like an A.K.
Don’t like playing as PAVN? The mosin is the best weapon in the game IMO, one shot kill to chest and head at practically any range is so damn good
The NLF is my favourite faction because of Mas and Mosin, but the PAVN faction I don't like to play as because they only get AK and SKS, the RP-46 is good though
I only like Mosin because it's the only spear in the game. I used to impale 6 people in a row with it, they didn't see it coming.
For some reason the mosin felt way better in ro2, in rs2 I have not 1 shot many times

Your playstyle just doesn't work with it, ten rounds is not made for flanking and especially not wildly spamming at their general direction

Autoreload is coo but the intensity of realizing you are dry when your firing pin clicks on an empty chamber when you enter a firefight cannot be understated.
Rising Storm 2 is such a great game! It hit so hard when it came out. Check out Red Orchestra 2 for even more brutal combat.
