    Brother I’m starting to learn a ton about Diesel engines. Keep up the good work.

      Thanks for your feedback David! I‘m really glad you are😃 I‘ll be sharing more information about this engine in an upcoming video where I try and figure out the main issue.

      @@WorkshopRebuild I’m definitely learning. I’m still working on my 317. The relief valve was an issue but didn’t fix my issue. Now researching and suggestions from others I’m now going to pull the charge pump and see if the roll pin is sheared. I can start the mower with both valves out and work the forward and reverse and not have oil push up out of the openings.

      I'm sorry to hear that you're still having issues with your 317 hydraulics. The charge pump is what pumps oil to your valve block. On the inner rotor you should see a dowel pin (0.125" x 1.0") and that's what makes the inner rotor turn with the input shaft. I have seen these dowel pins break and that might be your issue. If not, I would suggest you have a look at your hydraulic valve block. I hope this helps. Cheers

      @@WorkshopRebuild thanks for the measurements on the roll pin. Can the driveshaft come out without taking the motor out or pulling the rearend back? I won’t be off the road until Wednesday to possibly work on my machine.,

      @@WorkshopRebuild I'm 16 and I don't really want to risk taking it apart and forgetting how it goes back together so when I get one hopefully soon i'll just have haug implement my john deere dealer i'll just have them do it for me

      I see, maybe you can start with something smaller than this and work your way up to build that confidence. It‘s actually not as hard as it seems and throughout these videos I try to emphasize that.
      I picked up my previous rebuild, the John Deere 855 directly at Deere because they didn‘t want to fix it for their customer😁 So they aren‘t always your best option...

    Holy cow the silicone! I'm sure you'll be digging it out of every little port and screen... ugh! As always, love the content! Can't wait to see her harvest corn 🤣🤣

      It is everywhere!! I will have to double check every surface, bore and thread in order to proceed with this engine.
      Unfortunately, I‘m not sponsored by any silicone companies...so I don‘t use as much as the previous mechanics🤣
      You‘ll have to wait a couple months for that video✌🏽😆 Thanks for viewing!!

    I wonder if the engines would swap?

    • @WorkshopRebuild
      @WorkshopRebuild  Год назад

      Hi Paul, an engine swap would work just fine, but what engine would you have considered? The original engine is a 3cyl. ~30HP engine @3000rpm. With these specs in mind, what other options do you think would have worked?

    the most I can do is work on a self propelled push lawn mower not that 1445's are not great they're an awesome lawn mower just hard to work on

    • @WorkshopRebuild
      @WorkshopRebuild  Год назад

      This is a little bit bigger than a push lawn lower, but it‘s something you could work your way towards (that‘s if you want to).

      I can‘t mow grass for a long time here, because our winter season is really long! Maybe in 6 months from now I can look forward to cut the first bit of grass. If I find a mower, this machine will be a game-changer, but there are other cool attachments that hook up to this John Deere😎
