  • After a fresh engine rebuild it's time to get everything sorted out for an initial start-up!
    Not only do I have to drop the engine back into the JD 1445, but everything around the engine has to be in place in order for this machine to run and operate correctly. Join me, as I bring this "tractor" back to life!
    If this video was helpful in any way, I'd appreciate it if you hit that like button and if you want to be one of the first to hear this engine run, be sure to subscribe!

    The information contained in these videos are very well articulated and thorough. Well done, and I never want to discourage your efforts. After watching this playlist, I would contend the title(s) should properly draw viewers interested in Yanmar diesel engine inspection & rebuilds, because there is much more involved, including the transmission & electronics, that is not covered here. I'm sorry to be "that guy," but my frustration in trying to find an electrical issue with the PTO on my 1445, as well as trying to find properly titled RUclips videos, is growing. There are multiple relays, fuses, safety switches, sensors, modules, and solenoids that are involved in the proper operation of the 1445 traction unit that is designed to "drive" other implements/attachments. This "project" was the Yanmar diesel engine....NOT the John Deere 1445.
    But, being 100% genuine in saying "Thank You" for being an intelligent source of information in a sea of improperly prepared offerings on this platform.

      I fully appreciate your feedback and comment! When I look back at this playlist with JD1445 videos, I went into this project knowing the engine was shot. How bad it was, was unknown. Besides the engine rebuild, I managed to replace axles seals and repair some other bits around the commercial tractor. I know this unit has more than just that, but my goal was to get it back up and running and not to do a full restoration.
      When dealing with wiring tasks, it's challenging to capture on camera without becoming overly detailed, which may not appeal to viewers who aren't encountering specific faults. If I had encountered electrical issues, I would have mentioned them briefly without diving deep into the specifics. There are readily available wiring diagrams online that are straightforward and easy to follow.
      Unlike some other RUclipsrs who use clickbait titles, I believe my JD1445 videos are straightforward and technical. If my videos didn't cover exactly what you were searching for, I apologize. Perhaps in the future, your machine's issues will align with mine, and you'll find my videos helpful.
      I'm always striving to enhance my videos and appreciate feedback on areas where I can improve. This is why I make an effort to read, acknowledge, and respond to comments.
      Thanks for understanding and hope to see you again soon. Regards Andreas

    I made a mistake on model numbers. It was a John Deere 420. Parts were taken from a John Deere f935. I found the project in the lawn and garden tractor magazine.

      No worries! I searched the internet yesterday for this 4WD tractor, but I didn't find anything close to what you mentioned. Please send an email with some pictures if you have the magazine on hand. I'd love to see this article! Cheers

    Lovley project, very enjoyable film. I chringe when I don't see oil and coolant fillings in processes like tis, but obviously you had it under control.

      It was great fun and I'm glad I was able to bring this commercial tractor back to life. Not everything is added to the video, but I did not forget to add coolant & oil haha. Thanks - Andreas

    Have you seen the John Deere 430 diesel that was made into a 4 wheel drive using the transaxel from a John Deere 1445 ? A teenager made it for a 4 H project. It can pull a 3 bottom plow.
    Love your projects

    • @WorkshopRebuild
      @WorkshopRebuild  8 месяцев назад

      I have not seen the 4WD JD 430 you mentioned. May I ask where you found the article? It sure seems like a cool idea, given the JD 430 was very front heavy. Pulling a 3 bottom plow with 20HP diesel and a hydrostatic rear end is extremely impressive!
      Up until this date I've only seen one crazy custom JD 430 which was converted to a track machine. The owner used mini excavator tracks and separate disc brakes for the steering mechanism. I've seen these pictures in a John Deere Facebook group.
      Thanks for your ongoing support, it means a lot! Regards Andreas

    Andreas, kudos on your excellent work! That engine seems to be running nice and strong. I have no doubt in your rebuilding skills, everything you touch seems to work so well!! Have you thought about working on a bigger diesel engine? What about a V8?

    • @WorkshopRebuild
      @WorkshopRebuild  8 месяцев назад

      This engine is running really well and it sounds even better in person, than in this video. I'm always looking for a new challenge and some interesting vehicles. A larger diesel engine is definitely on my radar and I wouldn't even mind tearing into a V8 diesel. What type of diesel engines are you interested in?
      Thanks for your support, Matt! Cheers

    Nice! I’d like to restore a 332 in the next few years. What’s your opinion on them?

    • @WorkshopRebuild
      @WorkshopRebuild  8 месяцев назад +1

      I believe the JD 332 is one of the best garden tractors out there. Great power, small footprint, wide range of attachments and a reliable diesel engine. It's hard to beat this tractor and I absolutely love the 332. Share some content about it once you start your restoration project 👍🏻👍🏻

      I'll have to wait at least 7 months to mow any grass around here. We already had snow and the grass is already dormant. Maybe I'll be able to find a winter attachment for this unit, because we do get a lot of snow around here:)

      I'd love to put this machine to the test, especially under load...but it's already far past cutting season around here. Maybe I'll be able to find a winter attachment to be able to use this machine. I'll see what pops up around my area. 😀
