Actually as i was listening to this it reminded me so much of my selection into 4 Para. From beat up to CIC and finally PCOY. No not special forces but still an arduous course to undertake. Phil has articulated it perfectly!
Phil, read you book and signed up to your charity. Fantastic honest work. Would love to get involved with some charity work to raise more money in near future
One for all the dreamers/Walts out there….I’m a 2434 from 74 - 98. I only met two members of 22 SAS in my entire time….that was on my EPC (A) at Fulwood Bks in Preston…1991…post gulf 1. Even SAS SNCO’s had to do education courses like us peasants…..😂
I'm an Aussie. Like most of the core commonwealth we don't gush over our vets and service men and women. We're quietly respectful and show our appreciation through our behaviour. So anyway, I don't do the whole "thanks for your service" thing but you know. Thank you, mate. Broadly, It doesn't matter which Commonwealth force you served in. We're family and our soldiers sacrifice for us all. Cheers. Love you Britain (and Canada and NZ).
Royal Armoured Corps was the hardest training in the early eighties, you had to do the same basic as everyone else , but you had to do it after being on the piss all night 😮😂
Yep pre-selection for SBS(R) or Swimmer Canoeist in the early 90s was pretty tough but somewhat contrived. 5km / 15min run is just not viable for us big guys, particulalry the weight you're reqiured to carry in the hills. Thought it was UKSF back then. The 5 coloured pieces of paper....lol
Come on people, hit the like button. Show Big Phil some love. This series is top stuff.

Nothing better someone who straight talks and tells it like it is! 👍problem with some SF people they just talk about themselves!?
I liked this, it was almost counterintuitive.
I passed 264 SAS selection April 1982 and Yep be careful with the knees😁😁
Good guy phil. Thanks
Fascinating insight. Cheers!

My dad told me that the Sas was incredibly fucking hard to get into, he knew a few of the Sas guys
I used to steal Phil Campions dinner money at school. He owes his toughness to my bullying!
I can remember seeing a bloke with blue stable belt in cookhouse before thinking he was essence

Hardest course in the world is the RLC chef course - no-one’s ever passed it.
I passed it for the pioneers course wish I had stuck to the original plan now 😢

Old SBS sc3 course is harder they say . Before it went UKSF 2000 . Still respect to all who pass the UKSF course.

The hardest course in the military is the catering corp cook's course - not a single succesfull graduate yet.
Sound is low on these.
Our bad! Will see what we can do!
The only selection il ever see is at Christmas off the aunties and uncles you hardly know that have fudged and curly wurlys in
5km in 10 minutes is rapid tbf
5km in ten minutes would be over 2 minutes faster than the current world record!!!!!! LOL🤣🤣🤣
*Was you the only Sas guy in the regiment who wasn't Scottish?* 🤔🤣

It’s the mystique […] 220lbs is an easy day…
I’m guessing doing a fireman lift on a colleague could be that weight?
I passed selection!...... Then I woke up! Different breed you guys fair play 😊
