Love seeing the 10mm in action. People hate on it as a hunting round but with good ammo and shot placement it is very effective. Took a 257lb Bear with mine this year.
Best time to hog hunt is during a thunderstorm, preferably with lots of loud thunder. If you've got them coming to a feeder, and the thunder has been booming, you're likely to get 2 and possibly 3 or more shots off before the sounder scatters. I've used this strategy many times and it's paid off in pork. They are active even in daylight hours when it's raining... they like to be cool.
10mm.G40 is such over but instant kill. I've seen many video on here taking down deer with magtech fmj rounds from over 25 yards away it's crazy. I love this thing
wait... i had to stop the video at 2:24 because i was laughing so damn hard at the kid saying that it sounded like he was walking on fortune cookies!!! that's some funny shit.
Were you using federal vital-shok trophy bonded soft points? Those rounds are almost impossible to find anywhere in stock. Wondering if federal discontinue that round?
Hey plinkster, what brand and pattern is that camo you're wearing. I live right near where you were in Florida and want that pattern. Can't find it anywhere... Please answer someone
Were you satisfied with the trophy bonded bullet? Were you able to recover any or did all pass through? I'm asking because I'm considering these for hog hunting with my glock 40 mos. If you recovered any how was the expansion?
It's probably too late for you to see this question. But I was wondering what kind (and where did you find) of holster did you use for the G40 with the optic installed
I love me some wild pork! My G20 has taken several since i bought it a few months ago and i daresay it's my primary hunting piece and my rifles stay untouched
They are incredibly dumb, they're prey animals after all, they rely on their instinct to survive, their hearing and sense of smell are very sharp and they react almost instantly to the littlest noise, but after that they go back to eat in the same place. Prey animals are literally moving walking food waiting to be eaten
10mm is my favorite, Glock 20SF with Wolf 6in bbl and handloads pushes 135JFP 1600fps/790ft-lbs. these are equivalent to Underwood 135gr 10mm.they hit hard and no issue with full spec loads or glock smiles. get out an get some more!
I bought the gen4 Glock 40 MOS and installed a Holosun 407c and I got it just for some pistol hunting, can’t wait to get to it! And I’m recently on the Keto diet and bacon is #1 on that list! 😜🤩🇺🇸
Two issues here. 1) Shooter significantly exaggerated the range. 2) This was in South Florida and the hogs are smaller down there due to the food supply. Those weren't much bigger than most dogs. Of course, a 10mm is going to be able to take them. In Central and Northern Florida, they get much bigger. I have shot some in the 300-400 lbs range and seen others much larger. If you want to get within the ethical shooting range of a 500 lbs hog with a 10mm handgun, you better be up on your marksmanship skills. I've seen hogs absorb 12 gauge, 30-30, 5.56 and keep on going. My recommendation is always head shoot them; particularly if you are within shotgun range. I've dropped them at 90 yards with a .308, 15 yards with 7.62x39 AR15 and 10 yards with a .450 Bushmaster AR15. All three headshots. All three didn't take a step. If you come down here to hunt, 50 yards is a long shot unless you are on the edge of field or along a powerline or right of way. The woods are very thick and there is lots of low underbrush. They can come out of nowhere. If they turn on you, you're not gonna have a lot of time to make a plan. I carry a 10mm or a .45 ACP as a backup, but not sure you would want to tangle with one or more of them betting your life on a relatively low power round and your under-pressure marksmanship skills. Certainly, your call.
that looked like fun. I don't have a 10mm but I do have a .45 acp and a single action 45 colt ,im wondering if either one of those would work on porky pig
Verle Cox i know they are 180 grain Federal Trophy bonded JSP. Velocity varies depending on barrel length but I was only getting a little over 1000fps out of my 1911. Switched to 220 grain Doubletap hard cast and haven’t looked back
I’m dying for some real hog hunting here in south Florida, but I’m new to it so I only find expensive guided hunt or people that hunt hogs with dogs only. Who can help a fellow beginner hunter here in South Florida? I live in Miami but I can drive
So..... You do trick shots when throwing things in the air and blast them in half on quick shots..., you do trick shots with mirrors shooting backwards... but first couple of shots here messed up... is your other channel a Type of Annie Oakley thing.. I'm not a troller or being nasty in any shape or form.. Just interested????
waddac2 shooting in the woods at a moving target is a lot harder than shooting at a controlled range. Not to mention excitement and adrenaline make it difficult to be perfect
Mike Shaw As American he men / she women, we think we're tough if we put up with "a little 22 shooting"" or "a shot while hunting" without protecting our ears. ALL excessive noise damages the ear. The ear is the 2nd most sensitive/delicate organ after the eyes. Only now are we finally legalizing suppressor for hunting. Blame Hollywood for it taking so long. Heed...
In my case it did heal. I had this beep, old radio station extortion like in my ear For 3 moths... today im fine . I think my hearing is better than ever before.
Excellent video, good camera man too. My Glock 40 with an extended threaded barrel is bullseye accurate. I lived deep in the Rocky Mountains and hike in some thick timber. Always packing a powerful side arm. I seem to lean on that Glock more than other high caliber pistols. With the Radical Arms single dot tall night sights, my shooting accuracy was instantly improved. I really don't like red dot sights myself, prefer simplicity and reliability in potentially dangerous territory.
There was a video I saw a few years ago that I can’t seem to find, but a park ranger was out riding a snow Mobile and got rushed by a moose and the dude pulled out one of the Glock 10mm models and put 2 clean shots in the chest and the moose staggered and hit the dirt. Once I saw that I was bought in on a 10mm
That first hog went down fast ! Wondering how the Glock + hot federal ammo would do against a black bear. Anyone know if its ok to use hard cast lead in a Glock ?
Yeah it's not recommended to shoot anything other than jacketed bullets through the factory barrel. You can get a nice aftermarket barrel for pretty cheap though. Also if you have the regular Glock 20 and not the 40 it would give you a chance to upgrade to a 6" barrel. That'll make that badass 10mm round even nastier.
It will run through, there is a video of a person doing so in a g20 stock configuration. Not recommended it fouls up the barrel, plenty of really good ammo choices out there
JosheyG34 if you shoot it better than a .44 mag etc then yes. With 200 or 220 grain hardcast it will kill anything in North America with the right shot placement. I shoot my 10mm a lot better than my Ruger Redhawk .44 and I have 9+1 rather than just 6 shots
I just noticed you had a hunting channel. If you like hog hunting, you should try to hook up with Lone Star Boars. That would be fun to watch some hog eradication with you two.
Love seeing the 10mm in action. People hate on it as a hunting round but with good ammo and shot placement it is very effective. Took a 257lb Bear with mine this year.
I shot a 400 pound grizzly with mine!!!!
Gulp 😢😳 I weight 255lbs
Wouldn’t a 9mm be able to do this too?
@@ittbelitt8409 Not even close, a 9mm is much weaker than a 10mm. You shoot a bear with a 9mm, you're gonna get mauled to death!
I shot a 1200 lb grizzly bear with mine
Glad to see that you didn't go out "undergunned". I've killed feral hogs with a .22lr but I certainly don't recommend it.
That score board thing was a nice touch
Unless you were wearing headphones
Hunting with pistols is a blast! Thanks for the upload!
Awesome! Hog hunting is on my bucket list for sure
WHO_TEE_WHO mine too!!
will you can go ahead and add hog doggin on to it as well it's twice as fun especially if he go with a spear and 2 or 3 catch dogs only
It's way to expensive to hunt hogs in NC.
Please do more videos like this. It’s more exciting watching these instead of boring gun videos. Don’t get me wrong I still will watch them though.

Scott Burns good way to get struck by lightning

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Hahahahah the Indiana Jones b roll has me rollin 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Kinda curious if you recovered the bullet and if you did how far did it go on the hog that you shot in the head. Great video
Hope you don't get shut down for this video. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
10mm.G40 is such over but instant kill. I've seen many video on here taking down deer with magtech fmj rounds from over 25 yards away it's crazy. I love this thing
Good video, the creek fishing video made with another youtuber was excellent. That Creek you guys were fishing in is a gem.

Were you using federal vital-shok trophy bonded soft points? Those rounds are almost impossible to find anywhere in stock. Wondering if federal discontinue that round?
freedj27 I had to order mine from Cabelas
Hey plinkster, what brand and pattern is that camo you're wearing. I live right near where you were in Florida and want that pattern. Can't find it anywhere... Please answer someone
Don't matter what size gun you have. Shot placement is everything
Bacon + watching Plinkster shooting = Awesome!
Were you satisfied with the trophy bonded bullet? Were you able to recover any or did all pass through? I'm asking because I'm considering these for hog hunting with my glock 40 mos. If you recovered any how was the expansion?
Plinkster, any reason you didn't use the Underwood ammo 10mm Xtreme penetrator bullet? Just curious.
Steve Mo Federal is one of his sponsors. That bullet he was using is their fancy 10mm hunting round
Woooo, Weeeee.. that first one ya dropped was priceless wasn't it brother!🤙🏻🤘🏻💪🏼🇺🇸
10MM rocks the Casbah and is my primary CCW. Great video, lots of fun to be had
Which 10mm?
Razor dobs style.
Hogs need to be eradicated.
I own +300 acres in South Texas and all they do is cause trouble.
AsprTX i want to come and help u
AsprTX I'm in West Texas would love to take care of your problem
A few hunters can help thin the heard...
I've already got a couple guys who hunt em.
Appreciate the offers though!
AsprTX i live in south texas and to be honest I have never hunt hog or anything lol it would be my pleasure help and you help me.
It's probably too late for you to see this question. But I was wondering what kind (and where did you find) of holster did you use for the G40 with the optic installed
J White if you don’t mine the bottom of the barrel hanging out a Serpa holsters does just fine
Do you have nerve damage in your left hand/arm?? If so would you care to elaborate? Thanks..I love me some bacon..
8000 degrees sounds like an accurate description of Florida. Source: I've lived here my whole life.
Don't forget the 300% humidity.
Getting your fresh bacon in the open air supermarket. Gotta love it.
Nice hunting guys but I can´t see any difference to a .45acp or a 9mm in the effectiveness! Did it any better than those?
Nice eating size for the smoker!Nothing better than woods walking with the Glock
I really miss that countryside. I'm originally from S.A and was in USA for three years. That place is my home. #homesick
Well, put this on my list of things to do! Looks like fun and like a challenge.
I love me some wild pork! My G20 has taken several since i bought it a few months ago and i daresay it's my primary hunting piece and my rifles stay untouched
That was a tough little bugger. Good job putting it down.
Thanks for reminding me how much I miss living in Texas, :(
loved the missed button AND score card! BIG THUMBS up
How many of those bullets went all the way through the hogs?
Do you think is better a colt delta for hunting?
Whhhaaaatttt this is awesome just found this channel
I wish you could have used Underwood Xtreme Penetrators, that's what I load in my 10mm
Ten minutes after one was shot, and the others returned to the same spot? Jeez, they aren't too smart.
They shot Ted, there must be something worth having over there! I say we go back! lol
Lol

Awesome hunting. Shooting sticks would be a game changer!
Steve that’s what I was gonna say. Having even just a simple rest makes a big difference in handgun hunting
That is awesome and a challenge. On my G40, I have a muzzlebreak, and it helps alot on managing recoil for those follow up shots
Fucking 10mm is so under rated. People forget this gun is design to drop a grizzly bear
Are you shooting a factor Glock barrel?
Ooh, so envious. I hope they tasted great :)

nothin like bein in the middle on nowhere with a 10mm hand cannon
Any time we went hog huntin we had a jug of Royal Crown with us to ward off the skeeters.
Great video, thanks for bringing us along. Fire up that smoker.
Damn man those hogs were so cute they almost looked like puppies..

peacemaker121772 Give it a “shot”. If they keep running you’ll find out, haha! Really though, if you try and it goes well video it or let us know!
Good hunt Dave, that was your Florida Trip you told me at the NRA Meeting in Dallas yeh... Nice shoots, that was FUN 🤘🏼🤘🏼
What is the grain weight of the rounds used and velocity?
Verle Cox i know they are 180 grain Federal Trophy bonded JSP. Velocity varies depending on barrel length but I was only getting a little over 1000fps out of my 1911. Switched to 220 grain Doubletap hard cast and haven’t looked back

I'd like to see more of this! Gee, I wish I could go do some of that hunting.
Well, you see, there this plate right here in my shoulder... and if I dont button it like this, well, my coat just ain't gonna look right.
careful with that hearing! once that damage happens it never gets better, and it can get worse!
