One of the best series on FP inks that I have come across. Great format and very well done. Would be nice if you could do a series on blending/mixing inks.
I have watched your whole series at least three times - the most recent being as I followed your approach swatching my own inks. Thank you so much for an awesome series, and for the inspiration!!
THX so much for all the work you put into these videos , I have thoroughly enjoy them all and find so much use from them. The ink exploration series was very satisfying to watch and helped me delve into more fountain ink colors. TSMFS ❤
Private Reserve Ebony Purple is a purplish black that shows up black, and dries purple, deeper than tanzanite inks, and a shade more purple than Byzantium around the edges, and up your alley.
I have loved this series, so much. Wow.. I have had Solar storm since last year and have never inked it. Very pretty. Girl, you know I'm with you on the ink addict front 😁
I haven’t watched all the explorations yet, that is only a matter of time. I like them a lot. This edition is perfectly timed, I was on the hunt for a good purple black. Added 3 Inks to my wishlist to try. Thanks!
I have thoroughly enjoyed your ink exploration video series. It's probably led to me purchasing most of my current ink collection. I hope you find topics or collections to explore or maybe revisit color families in the future as your collection changes and grows
Thank you!! Yes, I will likely have a "part 2" to this series at some point. There are so many inks out there it almost demands another round of colors!
After your last video, I spent hours on the Birmingham site looking at all the colors and I LOVE Byzantium. But I'm also eyeing that Chameleon. Definitely a favorite page for me ♡ thanks for making these videos! They're so fun~ I'm so glad I found your channel 😊
this series has been a sheer joy for this new subscriber to view. Fast & hard fall into ink addiction here, do we have a secret wave or anything? 😉😆 I just wanted to mention that I buried myself in Van Dieman's inks the other day. Samples & a few bottles that I HAD to get. The company itself is perfect for me to buy from (being in AUstralia like they are) the only thing missing is that they don't do samples. At least not that I noticed. IT's very lucky that one of the best online pen 'n ' stuff shops in Australia does do samples & they are wonderfully priced & fast postage so ... I have no clue how much shipping from Aust. to you is but Pulp Addiction has samples of most everything I have looked for so far 😊 VD ink looks completely gorgeous, the latest series is Felines & 3 of the 4 bottles I fell in love with were from that group 🤎🖤🤍🐈⬛🐈🐱
We should totally come up with a wave/handshake ;) I have admired Van Dieman's inks for so long! I don't have many but they always have fun collections. Vanness Pens has some here in the USA. The Felines collection is 100% on my wishlist.
If youre yaking requests for ideas, i would love to see a Robert Oster ink exploration. I absolutely love Robert Oster inks, never had a bad ink from yhis brand (and I have a LOT). I love your videos and looking forward to what you have next in future ink videos 😊
Do you have a video talking more in depth about the Kakimori aluminum nib holder? I thought you had a wooden one. Maybe a video comparing the different holders? Dark purples that lean almost black have become something I enjoy, though I don’t have many.
@@mydandeliondiaries yes! Something about off blacks *chefs kiss I only have this falcon ink from Kingdom Note x Sailor, but I’ve been eyeing Birmingham ‘Bearing Grease’ and Kakimori color specimen 162(?) on their own website, they have their regular line up and these limited mixes from their inkstand in Japan.
Such gorgeous line up. I think I want to try all of them in my Esterbrook Blue with a fine nib. Let’s see how I like them in it. It’s a perfect match card to the pen.
Wow. I thought I hated purple inks, but it turns out I like purple black inks. I love Solar Storm and Yoi and another I have which I think is similar is Salior Shikiori Chushu. lol I thought they were just dark grey.
I have a sample of Robert Osters Sydney Lavender. It's very similar to summer storm, which I also have a sample of, and they're very similar but the Sydney Lavender is a little more purple and of course it's absolutely gorgeous. I don't remember if it's one you swatched or not
I love this series! I haven't yet watched all of the videos but I have watched a few in a very short amount of time and will go back and watch the others. You may have talked about this earlier in the series, but I'm wondering where you get your ink samples? Also, if you show a vial in the video, does that mean you have a sample rather than an entire bottle? I would love to add to my collection but don't really know where to start other than getting full bottles, which feels unsustainable, especially if I end up not liking an ink.
All great questions Aubrey! For my ink samples, I purchase them from Vanness Pens, Pen Chalet, or Goulet Pens usually. I also have some pen friends/pen pals that I exchange inks with :) If I show a sample vial in the video it usually means I only have the sample. However, I do have some bottles that I also have samples of just because I loved it so much I wanted to get the bottle as well. I highly recommend starting with samples if you can, ink can behave differently in various pens, but it also has varying consistencies based on brand. Personal preference can vary with both of those things. There is a large after marked for selling ink if there is a bottle you have that you do not like. I find that instagram, reddit, and other platforms have persons selling items they no longer use/want at a discounted rate :) Hope that helps!
Thank you! This is really helpful. I've just started out in this realm and have been buying a few bottles to try out. This didn't seem like the most efficient plan and your series has been super helpful and inspirational. I'm hoping to do my own watches soon.
I’m so sad to see this series come to an end! I love your swatch videos and this series has been so much fun!
Me too!! It has been such a blast. I will have some fun ink videos still don't worry ;)

I will check that out! Thank you so much!
This has been such a great series of videos. Thanks for doing this, I will miss it.
I'm so glad you enjoyed them! Maybe I will do a second round with new inks :)
I love the BPC inks on screen but really wish they had samples to purchase that way I know I am getting what I want when I order a bottle
I would love to get samples sold by them or other retailers too. However, every bottle I got I am very happy with!
Another awesome video! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I have loved this series, so much. Wow.. I have had Solar storm since last year and have never inked it. Very pretty. Girl, you know I'm with you on the ink addict front 😁
Hahahah yes 😅 I think there needs to be an ink addicts anonymous group or maybe a whole fountain pen group too 😂😂
@@mydandeliondiaries 😂😂
No - don't let it end!!! Surely we can do 'Ink Exploration Season 2' ! :-)
Hahah, a very highly requested option!
@@mydandeliondiaries good - that's settled then!

So glad you found some you liked!!
I’m so looking forward to more of these swatchings. Maybe you need to start over with more colors in each category
Thank you! This is a very common request it seems haha. Maybe there will be a "part 2" ;)
I loved this series.. I will miss it. 🙏🏽
Colorverse's Witch by Starlight is so pretty ✨
I love how it can be both blue and purple! And the shimmer matches it so well!

Oh no! I just discovered you, love your videos. Now I will go back and watch from the beginning. I hope you continue with another series. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I will still have lots of ink videos. Possibly a season 2 of colors!
So excited to watch 😍

Have loved your ink sample videos! Will totally be coming back to use them for references!
Yay, thank you!
loved this. this is a dangerous video
Oh no. Glad you loved it though! 💝
If you're hunting existing collection use for vids topics, maybe ink color trios/quads for art?
That's a great idea! Thank you for sharing :)

You should consider Robert Oster Deep Purple. It is wonderfully dark.
Thank you for the recommendation! I will check that out!

I find that some "purple" inks appear much more grey. I think it depends on what paper you use and what other colors are around it!
Favorite blurples?
