Agreed - A single viewing is not enough. I've returned to this video several times and my ONLY complaint is that it could be much longer. In this chaotic world, it's such a relief to see civilized people comporting themselves in a civil manner in such a beautiful place. Thanks...
Tangier never come under english rule (same with portuguese), most of tangier city was under rule of arab and saadian/alouite rifi forces and berbers, including all of its medina, all of its past history. English ruled small portion section of tangier suburbs.
God bless Morocco 🇲🇦🙏🙌 the land of History from the Greek mythology to the Moors ....Tangier is the coexistence of many cultures and people ,it is pure humanity.
I spent a day in Tangier a few years ago. Absolutely, the local people were wonderful. Just lovely. A much longer trip is on my bucket list... someday... I hope they are all well and safe during this pandemic.
The most beautiful people attracted to this romantic location..they also enrich this place as much as they are enriched by it...can magine myself sipping tea in a one of the living rooms..thankyou for this insight into what can be a dream sequence..⭐
There was a huge gay community in Tangiers in times when it was not well received in Europe and Tangiers was more liberal about it. Let´s be clear that a lot of these guys went there for this reason.
I wouldn’t say Tangiers was liberal. Rather leaders of that time realized rich British men would spend money there because they got go have fun with the local men. So they let it be. But it got to be a very well known secret and eventually when conservative religious leaders came into power they put a stop to that.

@@silverkitty2503 I don’t see the relevance in your reply to Hypatia. Hypatia was quite clear in using the past tense in all his comment -“was”; “was”; “was”; “was”; “went”. He/she made no comment about current attitudes. Therefore your criticism of Hypatia is wholly inaccurate.
I was born and raised in Casablanca, I fell in love with Tangier when I visited few years ago and south Spain as well, both are very special especially if you live in the west! The simple lifestyle the pace and the Mediterranean view❤

Nice short video... wish it had been much longer... I love Tangier... went there many times when I lived in Spain between 1968 & 1977... it was a very good time to see any part of Morocco... Such an amazing place.
These are absolutely wonderful houses that show how of connoisseurs their owners are. I adored every house and I'm curious to look at the details of each and every house and listen to the stories behind it. They didn't lie when they said that your house shows your identity to the world. And these are not boring identities indeed. Also I don't know if it's him or I'm mistaken, but I think I've met the gentleman named Francisco three or four weeks ago at "l'âakba d l'koumir" and he cleared the way and said "smahli" with a bright smile. Lol

I was in Jonathan Dawson’s apt some years ago. It a quite something in its decor and so opposite Paul Bowles’ unpretentious apt. And the cock was still galavanting about. Jonathan, by the way, was in Anthony Bourdain’s video on Tangier. That was amusing, Jonathan in the video regaling Anthony at the Café Tingis while the usual ex-pat characters were in the background. Tangier has changed immensely from the 70s but the kasbah and Medina still have some authenticity. And at the end of this video, Blanca Hamri, bless her heart, was at the American School when I came to apply to work when Mc Phillips was headmaster. She seemed anxious for me to meet McPhillips though I later declined the job offer. I just looked Blanca up and discovered she died last year. Almost all I’ve known there have passed. Such memories.

Tangier is the perfect place to be anytime 💎
Didn''t realize the film was so short. Left me wanting more. Hope they do a longer one. Fascinating!

This is so so disappointingly short, I could almost weep.
I loved Tangiers a feast for the eyes backlit by the beautiful African sun...
Stunning, exactly in sync with my own aesthetic. Thank you for uploading this ravishing short clip.
Really enjoyed this and the stories that brought these people to Morocco. I am transfixed with what I saw.
Great film and wonderful people. Thanks
Lovely residence, consisting of all my favorite things.
Love this. Another World...... Thank you for the snippet.
Beautiful place. Beautiful houses. Just stunning.
Loveeee all of their homes !

That is NOT true my friend and you would NOT want to be gay in tangiers today.

Tangier is still a very exciting city !
Blanca Hamri (Lady with the Cat). Her house is the best, very colorful and with large plants.
William Alfonso .....the cat owns the house........Blanca Hamri is the cats servant LOL
Amaze
Best appreciated by those with a higher level of aesthetic requirements.
yeah,no IKEA!😂
Nice.
Everyone we meet here is elderly and wealthy. I know Tangier, as a tourist with a small pocketbook, and it is unique.
Love moroccan interior.

What a lot of red drawing rooms, The Tangier Look?
"When in Tangier..." Exotic.... F.
Only thing I didn't like is the Charles and camila's photo (2:25) on the desk.

Well : THIS IS SOMETHING ABOUT TANGIER!!!!!
Not the usual tourist…….
Really a private club for rich old European gay men and their friends with the same aesthetics sense.

Are there any straight ex-pat men in Tangier?
Rich ,gay and European, of course Morocco is the place to be.
All these reincarnated people feeling like they come ‘home . Reincarnation is real.

Hmm, everyone I've known who has visited Tangier has been drugged and robbed, and sometimes worse. Obviously not mixing in tbe right circles.
No really , do you love the light ? Lol
I wish this was a movie. Also more of a mix of people than old, white folks would be nice.
