I completely agree with all your grievances. Having a color picker wouldn't crash anyone's game, and if it would crash your game you seriously shouldn't be playing games on your computer. And no pools...why???
Wow, this is awful. They went back so much to the way The Sims 2 was, that they even went past that. No cars, no toddlers, no pools, no customization ... When The Sims 3 came out, people gave it a lot of crap, but those were not among the things anyone complained about even slightly. I'm very disappointed in this so far, beyond the obvious improvements. But, as was said in earlier videos for The Sims 3, "EA will milk the crap out of that one as well", so, go figure.
***** They're just there for ambience nobody can actually use them including other sims. It's the same for trams and steamboats they're just there for show. To make the world seem more alive and whatever.
What bugged me was they had tights and stuff as accessories. They had socks as accessories. They even had hats as accessories and accessories work as a different 'layer' of sorts, which means you can put them on top or underneath other clothes and hairs and stuff without having to use a specific hair/bottom/shoe like you would've had to in Sims 2. So why not jackets too? That would've added so many more customisation opportunities in a game that is so stunted to begin with. By sepparating shirts from jackets and stuff they could've easily won over a lot more people (Because the socks/tights as accessories wasn't exactly new, it was around in the Sims 3 too) and expanded on the whole accessory territory in a way never capitalised before but instead they just did the same thing as last game. Maybe in the Sims 5 they'll improve customisation instead of stunt it.
The reason they've taken out so much is because they pretty much redid the entire engine and Sim behavior scripts. They focused so much on that and so little on adding what had been in Sim games before Sims 4 because they wanted to give "A more immersive experience." No matter how realistic and lifelike the Sims act it won't be worth not being able to drown my neighbors.
Just imagine someone seeing that guy in the gallery and thinking "He's nice, I'll download him." Then in game they see him side on and they're like "Holy crap! What is that?!"

They didn't give anyone early copies, not even the "big" ones like IGN (as far as I remember). Even EA knew it was a shitty game and didn't want to take that risk.
This is what Sim Guru Jill said about CAS: "At the moment we are not planning to add Create a Style in game and we don’t know if this feature will be added later on. We are focusing on making the base game great, stable and powerful. We want The Sims 4 to ship with a very high level of quality and we decided to focus on certain areas." So I'm sure if everyone keeps complaining about this, then it will be added later on lol (same as toddlers/pools). Hopefully this helps anyone else who wants to know why there is no CAS in the "base game".
I thought that the gurus have already confirmed that there will never be CASt in TS4. They said that CASt is the kind of feature that needs to be in the base game and not patches. But hey, we all know that EA isn't afraid to go back on their word.

So its taking the best of both sims 2 and 3 so all together it's semi open world check channels like Simsvip she has sims 4 gameplay and it doesn't look bad

So a neighborhood can have just one lot (but of course EA isn't going to tell you that). There is no "downtown" in TS4, they're all called neighborhoods. And loading screens will occur whenever you switch LOTS, neighborhoods and worlds. Get your facts straight.
Love what you did with the ladys voice, you won't find other youtubers who think to play like that :) Arrrgghhhh... there is some stuff that I love, really really love, like being able to move individual rooms and randomise individual parts of a sim. That stuff is awesome. Then there are things like the cupcake machine and walks... seriously?! Add it later as DLC, I'm sure people will buy it but it's not base game stuff. The base game is the bones... it should have all the tools (like a colour wheel at least) and all life stages. No "bassinet/baby hybrid" objects no missing toddlers. I just think EA messed up with what they prioritised. Lets just wait to see if they fix what they broke.
You and a handful of other true "simmers" are the only ones i really watch to get reviews about Sims. You're refreshingly blunt and realistically critical. ;) Ive noticed most of those who have gotten the Sims demo super early are either really famous youtubers, or incredibly fake and annoyingly positive about EVERYTHING. Personally i like to encourage a company to be their very best and sometimes, in the real world, you need a swift kick in the ass to grow and improve.

EA claimed making simcity offline was FAR too complex for them to Handel Turns out all you have to do is deleted one line of code and it runs flawlessly offline from what I've heard
at this rate Sims 5 won't allow more than 2 floors and a non isometric views pack will cost 70 dollars. Sims 6 will just be a collection of textures and 3d models and some random scripts sold to us for 80 bucks and then to get an actually compiled game with the rest of the textures and the voices we have to pay EA $324.99. Sims 7 will just be the free version of Unity with a Sims 7 logo and a couple of random Sims 2 and 3 assets in a folder for $729.99.
I'm expecting this one to be the most expensive in the series when it comes to content. Just look at micro payment hell on the Sims 3 site. For instance, they essentially took the Open for Business expansion for The Sims 2 and broke it up into tiny expensive little pieces for the sims store. You can be sure the things you liked in The Sims 3 will be broken up into bits and sold to you for ridiculous prices as well.
The major improvements they supposedly made dont make up for the shit that they took out thats all Im gonna say. You cant put all the focus on one aspect of the game and not expect people to be pissed when basic things that have been in the original game since day one are now taken out. Sims 2 Bon Voyage for World Adventures, Sims 1 Makin Magic for Supernatural, Sims 1 Hollywood for Showtime, etc. Sims 3 is the worst Sims game of all because their Sims look pudingy, they recycled all Sims 2 animations, and they don't have shopping experience, ability to create a supermarket, or ability to open a store like Sims 2 does. The only thing you can do in Sims 3 is wander around the empty isolated and dystopic world. Thank god Sims 4 is here, even though, yeah... no toddlers and pools, that's quiet an extreme bummer.

Create-A-Sim is so much better in The Sims 4 yeah it's missing a few features but it's so fast and smooth whereas in the Sims 3 it was laggy and slow especially when you have all the expansion packs installed even on a high end(ish) PC so i'm a big fan of the much smoother Create-A-Sim. just a few more days for me in the UK till i get to play The Sims 4 i'm really looking forward to it!
The different walks thing gets me too...I just don't understand, no CASt or anything remotely close to it, no pools, no open world, but holy crap don't worry you've got different walks, which is obviously so necessary and useful! Yeah, I'm devastated by the loss of pools. Drowning sims was one my favorite deaths. Not sure that I'll buys Sims 4, although I was originally planning to.
Given the aesthetic choice they went with, I have to assume they are trying to match that of Sim City. Its the same plastic toy appearance present in that game. Great Video.
want my opinion? Color wheel will be added in Sims 4: Out in Downtown and textures will be added in Sims 4: Big Biznes so you will have to pay 140 bucks for the convienience of playing the game you want to play by buying base game and two expansion packs
everyone will hate me but I CAN NOT STAND sims 3 cas i have a good computer and it always crashes sims 3 and in the base game toddlers were crap till generations came out and pools were expensive and even if you put them in your house you never use them and neither do your sims so im uninstalling sims 3 to make room for this game so hate me all you want

don't worry guys, one of the Expansion packs will be a color wheel expansion pack, now you can customize your sims with a tool that should have been in the game to begin with and you can thank EA for this wonderful expansion by giving away all your hard earned money.
I still can't get over how much stuff they took out. I like the new CAS (though not too fond of the art style) and how there are so many body morph options. But no toddlers, pools, CASt, Open world, terrain tools, cars, ghosts, dishwashers, or trash compactors. Not to mention babies are sims 1 style again and sims teleport from lot to lot instead of at least walking to the edge. Like, think they cut enough corners? When they said they were going back to basics I guess they weren't kidding.
The real reason, apparently, is that because Sims emotions depend on colours having people mess with the colours would make it break. Since they dont know where to draw the line at what is red or blue. Apparently.
I realized that the goofy walk style would be perfect for creating Tohru Adachi. So I went to make him. Then I couldn't because there was no Create-a-Style. Thanks, EA.
Honestly I think I'm gonna be fine with just a demo, Making sims is the only appealing part of the game to me, that's really sad. But £50? No thanks, hyrule warriors comes out later that month anyway
Why do I feel like the only person who is legitimately excited for this game? True there are things they really shouldn't have removed (pools, toddlers and of course create-a-style), but I personally enjoy the more cartoon style. For me the hair, though blocky, is actually really nice. It is annoying that they'll likely bring in toddlers and pools as part of an expansion pack (probably separate expansion packs, because money), but at the same time the create-a-sim is stronger, lack of create-a-style aside. The build mode looks like it'll be much easier and from what we've seen the gameplay itself will be easier with multitasking and the like. They've also more openly embraced modding, and they've made the social media and sharing portions much easier. I look forward to this game, but of course if you don't want to buy it then that's your choice. It's a shame there's so many people on youtube aggressively trying to convince people not to buy a game that they will probably enjoy.
Me 2. The graphics are funny, i like the cartoony style. Actually i would hate if it looked almost real. It makes the sims funnier and i think also more clean. More computers can handle sims 4. And i love the lay out, build mode, CAS and the cities and the emotions. I can't wait!
Problem is CAS do not add much to gameplay, I do not spend my time creating sims for them to just walk around.. weirdly. Can't wait for the review of this game.
All in all The Sims 4 looks and seems exciting enough for me to drop $70 on it. I don't care about a damn slider for skin tone or a tacky shirt some other simmer made in create-a-sim. So what if they slip in a few things in the DLC that are supposed to be in the base game. If you really want it you'll pay for it and be happy. EA and Maxis are in the business to make money, and if you don't feel EA/Maxis deserves your money for what's been announced.. Make your own Sims game and tell me when it's released I'd love to see what you have to offer! (:
Well, looks like I won't be picking up Sims 4. EA, if you're reading this.. you've lost a sale from me, and hopefully from many more. There is nothing good about downgrades. Customization is king in these games, and your company seems to have completely forgotten this. Bad form.
Hi LGR, There are no slider bars when customizing your characters. There is an alternative for the facial features. While not in Detail Edit Model, if you click on the part, eyes for example, you get the open to select different shapes then you can customize from there. I hope this helps!

My biggest problem is that the mouse is so in-sensitive, it takes FOREVER to change something. I tried changing it in "Options" But there is no option to increase the mouse sensitivity.
I'm glad they made everything look sharper but I must say that I'm with you with the customizations. My favorite part of Sims games is customizing my sims so that is a HUGE :'( for me with TS4

I like how the modding community is more advanced than the actual Sims Developers. I love how in a few weeks after the game comes out, there will be a Create A Style more than likely.
It turns out we might not even get ghost. Several people have played Sims 4 with EA, and they never got a ghost whenever they died. A lot of them asked about it, and the Sims 4 team is still not commenting on it. Also, the areas you can travel is very small. Apparently some of the areas only have 4 houses within the same "neighborhoods". This means if you want to travel to that 5th, then your SOL (at least with the maps we will get from day 1) Also, there is no move objects cheat.
The main thing I've noticed about the sims 4 is that it's literally the sims 2 with modified graphics and better create a sim customization with respect to the sims themselves.
Honestly, it's a wonder that they kept Simlish as a language and writing style if they're taking away the basic skeleton to the sims. I love your comments LGR, can't wait for the next video!

Create-A-Sim is so much better in The Sims 4 yeah it's missing a few features but it's so fast and smooth whereas in the Sims 3 it was laggy and slow especially when you have all the expansion packs installed even on a high end(ish) PC so i'm a big fan of the much smoother Create-A-Sim.

The different walks thing gets me too...I just don't understand, no CASt or anything remotely close to it, no pools, no open world, but holy crap don't worry you've got different walks, which is obviously so necessary and useful! Why, why.

Yeah, I'm devastated by the loss of pools. Drowning sims was one my favorite deaths. Not sure that I'll buys Sims 4, although I was originally planning to.

Given the aesthetic choice they went with, I have to assume they are trying to match that of Sim City. Its the same plastic toy appearance present in that game. Great Video.

The Sims 4 is now a buggy mess with too many useless packs and they didn't even bother in fixing it.
I'm somewhat glad they got rid of the Create-A-Style. It hogged like half the processing power, but they should have kept just plain colors.
I have sims 3 and the create a style doesn’t make it run any slower
want my opinion? Color wheel will be added in Sims 4: Out in Downtown and textures will be added in Sims 4: Big Biznes
so you will have to pay 140 bucks for the convienience of playing the game you want to play by buying base game and two expansion packs
everyone will hate me but I CAN NOT STAND sims 3 cas i have a good computer and it always crashes sims 3 and in the base game toddlers were crap till generations came out and pools were expensive and even if you put them in your house you never use them and neither do your sims so im uninstalling sims 3 to make room for this game so hate me all you want
then something wrong your computer have updated graphic card? and your video card? i had that problem on my old computer i found out was video card and graphic card need be updated.

don't worry guys, one of the Expansion packs will be a color wheel expansion pack, now you can customize your sims with a tool that should have been in the game to begin with and you can thank EA for this wonderful expansion by giving away all your hard earned money.
I still can't get over how much stuff they took out. I like the new CAS (though not too fond of the art style) and how there are so many body morph options. But no toddlers, pools, CASt, Open world, terrain tools, cars, ghosts, dishwashers, or trash compactors. Not to mention babies are sims 1 style again and sims teleport from lot to lot instead of at least walking to the edge. Like, think they cut enough corners? When they said they were going back to basics I guess they weren't kidding.
The real reason, apparently, is that because Sims emotions depend on colours having people mess with the colours would make it break. Since they dont know where to draw the line at what is red or blue. Apparently.
Your robot-voice thing totally made me laugh. It's a little late, but also, robots are awesome.

Honestly I think I'm gonna be fine with just a demo, Making sims is the only appealing part of the game to me, that's really sad. But £50? No thanks, hyrule warriors comes out later that month anyway

Why do I feel like the only person who is legitimately excited for this game? True there are things they really shouldn't have removed (pools, toddlers and of course create-a-style), but I personally enjoy the more cartoon style. For me the hair, though blocky, is actually really nice. It is annoying that they'll likely bring in toddlers and pools as part of an expansion pack (probably separate expansion packs, because money), but at the same time the create-a-sim is stronger, lack of create-a-style aside. The build mode looks like it'll be much easier and from what we've seen the gameplay itself will be easier with multitasking and the like. They've also more openly embraced modding, and they've made the social media and sharing portions much easier.
I look forward to this game, but of course if you don't want to buy it then that's your choice. It's a shame there's so many people on youtube aggressively trying to convince people not to buy a game that they will probably enjoy.
Me 2. The graphics are funny, i like the cartoony style. Actually i would hate if it looked almost real. It makes the sims funnier and i think also more clean. More computers can handle sims 4. And i love the lay out, build mode, CAS and the cities and the emotions. I can't wait!
now to wait for Sims 4 Professional EP where you can become a designer and change the clothes textures and colors...
Problem is CAS do not add much to gameplay, I do not spend my time creating sims for them to just walk around.. weirdly. Can't wait for the review of this game.
All in all The Sims 4 looks and seems exciting enough for me to drop $70 on it. I don't care about a damn slider for skin tone or a tacky shirt some other simmer made in create-a-sim. So what if they slip in a few things in the DLC that are supposed to be in the base game. If you really want it you'll pay for it and be happy. EA and Maxis are in the business to make money, and if you don't feel EA/Maxis deserves your money for what's been announced.. Make your own Sims game and tell me when it's released I'd love to see what you have to offer! (:

EA, if you're reading this.. you've lost a sale from me, and hopefully from many more. There is nothing good about downgrades. Customization is king in these games, and your company seems to have completely forgotten this. Bad form.

There are no slider bars when customizing your characters. There is an alternative for the facial features. While not in Detail Edit Model, if you click on the part, eyes for example, you get the open to select different shapes then you can customize from there. I hope this helps!

For everything about The Sims 4 I hate.. the Sim creator (and probably House creator) is really, REALLY nice!
My biggest problem is that the mouse is so in-sensitive, it takes FOREVER to change something. I tried changing it in "Options" But there is no option to increase the mouse sensitivity.
I'm glad they made everything look sharper but I must say that I'm with you with the customizations. My favorite part of Sims games is customizing my sims so that is a HUGE :'( for me with TS4

I'm pretty sure pools will be added in Seasons EP and toddlers to Generations. They have it all sorted out already.

I like how the modding community is more advanced than the actual Sims Developers. I love how in a few weeks after the game comes out, there will be a Create A Style more than likely.
It turns out we might not even get ghost. Several people have played Sims 4 with EA, and they never got a ghost whenever they died. A lot of them asked about it, and the Sims 4 team is still not commenting on it.
Also, the areas you can travel is very small. Apparently some of the areas only have 4 houses within the same "neighborhoods". This means if you want to travel to that 5th, then your SOL (at least with the maps we will get from day 1)
Also, there is no move objects cheat.

The main thing I've noticed about the sims 4 is that it's literally the sims 2 with modified graphics and better create a sim customization with respect to the sims themselves.
