I like the album but I don’t think it’s a 9/10. Overall it’s pretty good but the start of the album is a bit too heavy. He’ll give it somewhere between 6/10-8/10 I think.
@@joaquin5929 I couldn't get into the 2nd one. Way too dense, but I like You Know Me! a lot and maybe Teleharmonic. The first has Speech Bubbles, Floodgates and Skrting which are top tier. This album might be their best though. The two melon played and Eyes and Mouth are really good. Better than any of it however is Knife Edge from Confidenza.
the band is just a creative outlet for them to let free without the constraints and pressure radiohead had to live up to their previous albums and tour
I actually disagree, I feel the collaborative effort brought into Radiohead has always been their greatest strength. The mechanical, focused drumming of Philip Selway, the brilliant use of space and rhythm seen in Colin Greenwood's bass and Ed's fantastic soundscapes. Jonny and Thom make great music together, but it's not as special as Radiohead as a group
I hate to say it, but Phil might not be needed... Colin and Ed would make them so much better though. They lack exactly the elements they could bring - depth and ambience et al. They make up for it with density and it doesn't always work for me. I can't get into the second album except the last song.
@@stitchgrimly6167 phil is like a ringo type drummer. he's great at drum composition and orchestration. he's not so good with chops and more african type of playing. skinner is very precise and has worked a lot on his rudiments and kick-snare-hihat variations, but he lacks some of the composition elements phil has.
anthony fantino reacts to instant palm
@@GeorgeKarageorgopoulosCouloumb lmao I didn’t notice it autocorrected the title😭
psalm, not palm.
@@ekkieck I sent an email to Thom to stall the release of the album to edit the title of this song to ''palm''. It makes more sense
Easily Smile's best album and an undeniable 9/10
Wall of eyes better tho
This is the worst of the 3
I preferred their last one but this one was great too
@@kaleblougher484Wall of Eyes is easily the Worst amongst the 3..
If this album doesn't get at the very least a 9/10 I swear to God
strong 6 to a light 7 coming
nah it smells like a fantano's light 8. i love it tho

It’s a strong 6.
They get better and better with every record!
my favorite band in this cold world
This singer sounds like Thom Yorke from Radiohead
Is this a joke? Genuinely can't tell
You might wanna sit down for what I’m boutta tell you…
Definitely sounds like him but they’re different! Thom Yorke is the singer of Radiohead, and Tom Yorkie sings in The Smile.
it might seem crazy what i’m bout to say
Eerie... you're absolutely right and I think you might be on to something. Distant relative maybe?
masterpiece number 3
Eh the first album could’ve been better

Should be at least an 8. This album is amazing
who does not love a big palm !
psalm, not palm
7/10 incoming
Use this album to ward away brain rot.
That tracks that go hard go soooo Hard on this album. Loving it
These old guys can sure carry a tune
Nice, thank you, i missed the stream completely last night.
He's giving this a light 9.
Hes gonna give a 7/10, maybe even 6.
"White stripes vibes" quoth the chat
Chat has never listened to The White Strips
i give it an 8/10, couple weaker tracks, overall really good.
Is it just me, or this sounds like 'all tomorrow's parties'
Yesss
I feel like they haven't perfected their style yet. They should go cooking now for like three years and then drop an absolute 10/10 legendary.
They're not looking for a specific style
the band is just a creative outlet for them to let free without the constraints and pressure radiohead had to live up to their previous albums and tour
Wonder if he is gonna review it like he said? Has been a while.
Who needs Radiohead? The Smile is just an extension of Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood’s genius.
If ed could add in his unique soundscapes, there would be more to listen to. The minimalist approach is somewhat predictable

Have you heard the slip that goes straight to no words?
Why do I ever give a shit about this guys opinion he has L takes and seems like he sees listening to songs as just chores on a checklist

For me it was better than their debut, however not as great as The Wall of Eyes.
