I've got a 95 Legacy Wagon and I'm plan on turning it into a sleeper! I love all Subaru's but every other kid modding their Subaru owns an Impreza. I love my wagon and all of it's benefits. I've been looking for a modded outback for awhile, love the video.
The grille badge on this is a lowercase "i" for JDM Imprezas. The JDM Legacy badge is two uppercase "L" mirrored top to bottom. For accuracy's sake, this is incorrect on the OBW in the video.
DUDE!!! Looks sick as hell! Wish my '99 could look like this, but she is developing some rust and has a bad knock in the old 200k mile 2.5, spun a rod bearing.
dude that's fucking SWEET! I just got a 97 Legacy L, THIS is my goal here too! this is a sweet car! I wanna do an outback trim swap so I can get those big fogs! lol love the car
it says he swapped in the harness, so my guess is he is running a stock wrx ECU and wiring which makes things a lot more simple when it comes to tuning.. just tough to do is all.
2.2's are just overall stronger. I am in the middle of turbo-ing a 2.2 n/a but I am using 2.5 heads on it. Same car as in the video except its a 97 Legacy GT wagon.
Nice sounding engine! One point, the car is a Legacy Wagon not the Outback version which had a taller roof and higher ground clearance. These where small differences but the Legacy had a more sporty side and the Outback a rugged side.
***** not necessarily, You can swap the.bumpers over. But this is a legacy. Not a legacy outback. Thou it does have a sunroof. My guess it might have been a GT at one point another point is the spoiler. Not many outbacks have a.spoiler like that. Most of them have a plastic defuser of some sort. The plus side of having outback bumper is the fog lights as they are glass. Glass doesn't oxidize. The GT fogs are notorious for leaking and corrosion. Plus the custom paint job. It looks mint.
+Delvi Burgos Sorry, Wrong and the giveaway is the roofline. On the Legacy Wagon GT and same as the Brighton (that's a cheap version) the roof is shorter. On the Outback, it's distinctively taller. The owner of this vehicle added the front bumper from an Outback.
+Delvi Burgos LOL...I owned a 1998 Outback, at the time I was considering the GT version as it did look more sporty, but I haul large dogs around (Akitas) so any extra room was a blessing. I have since replaced that vehicle ( 17 yrs) with a new 2015 OB, Cheers
omg, i have the same car and ive been wondering if i should even put money into it or just get another car to work on but this inspires me hahaha this car is so nice,
plz ive searched and searched found a lil but not alot of info i have the same car 98 legacy outback stock ok heres my question. can i use parts from the legacy gt im looking for coilovers/ frame bars / projecter headlights / also ? if i install no2 kit will it plug n play or do i need to weld intake or anything like that cuz of the pressure thank you
That has to be one of the best looking wagons I've ever seen.
Always do it yourself.
The thought of those New York chop shops gives me chills.

If you plan on doing that then plan on doing a whole engine/drivetrain/tranny swap.
SilviaFanGirl
Yeah, total overhaul, I just got a 5 speed 96 Outback so now I don't have to worry about converting my 95 to manual since I sold it.
Yo man i bet you forgot about this, hows the sleeper goin
@@YAKO1598 ran it out of oil one winter. Still ran fine. I like V8's now.

Man, I have always loved the lines of these leggy wagons. The late 90s Subies are so hot, especially with a JDM motor swap! Well done Sir.
DUDE!!! Looks sick as hell! Wish my '99 could look like this, but she is developing some rust and has a bad knock in the old 200k mile 2.5, spun a rod bearing.
Insanely beautiful whip. I love how this video was shot!

Stock engine? What did you do to get the nice acceleration sound? Glass pack muffler?
That looks badass for an Outback.

Love it .. want to do some of this to my wifes Outback. I have to see more of it.
Ah!!!! That sound! Wish mine sounded like that!

very nice, would rock that any day of the week
its so if the car gets stuck/needs to be towed it wont mess up the rear bumper when it they tow it

Such a beautiful wagon. I wish Subaru still made this. I like sharp lines. I hate modern egg shape cars.
That exhaust.. YES!!!
I tried putting a tow hook on the same subi but the tow hook is too short
Love to see more swapped wagons out there. Just finished mine! Do you go to any NASIOC meets? Going to WBM this year?
