Brendan Humeniak do you know anything about h6 swapping the same year car ... with the harness work for the stock 2.5 motor mounts
When I took possession a single resonator was installed if you listen you can hear the rasp.
The harness will not work, it is a full custom bulkhead / dash merge. However the motor mounts and transmission mounting are the same,
Noisy but certainly not fast. My flat 4 on td-5 turbine can maul you alive ;-)))

It's a 3.0 H6 and most Porsche's use a 3.0 H6, so with a proper exhaust or straight pipe, sounds like one
it's a 3.3 actually.. it's a an EG33 swap, not an ez30...
yeah I know it's the H6, but most I heard sounded like a v6, or something not quite so cool as this :D Take mighty car mods' H6 swapped legacy for example... But I guess it's that this is non turbo and has normal symmetrical headers... Such a good sound tho, want one!
It's an eg33 flat six, newer Subaru flat sixes are actually 180 v engine's but the eg33 is a true flat six
I HAVE THE SAME CAR, AND IN HIGH WAY IS VERU STABLE AND GET 100 MILES WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM, I HAVE RIDE IT AT 115 MILES.

Sean's going to use it in Detroit SCCA RallyCross, the series the car was built for so I get to see it and hear once a month. I couldn't be happier, except tomorrow when I have to deliver it :(

how hard was this swap? did you have to change the motor mounting points?
nope, only thing is the radiator fans need to be swapped to the front of the radiator. motor mounts line up, so does the 6spd from an STi.

Timboslice remove all mufflers and resonators and you're good.
Why does it pop like that on over rev and trailing throttle? I ask, cause I would very much like my 2.0 liter to do that, despite the turbo.
H6's tend to just do it, mine did even when it was stock, however I'm sure you'd be able to make yours do it somehow...
It's running rich. Also less restrictions in the exhaust makes it do it, I have a stainless cat-back exhaust on my B4 twin turbo and it pops all the time, if you go for a de-cat exhaust system with a (loud) free flowing silencer you should be able to get it to pop when it warms up to temperature. Also a blow-off valve on the turbo helps too.

A troll and this video inspired me to finish my H6 swap. It needs a 4.44 gear set if anyone is listening. I have 3.90 gears and they are too long.

4:44 gears in the US come from the N/A 5spd box. That trans can’t even handle the stock 170hp it came with. No way you can get that to handle the 3.3L the JDM 5spd in the original STi was also 4:44 if you can get one imported.

Roberson Lubin Because it's really hard to get good audio from a cameraphone. Microphones are tuned to work best at the frequencies of human voices, so car sounds are hard to capture.
I have this same engine, with a very similar long-tube header setup, and all my videos sound awful.

What exhaust manifold does this vehicle have? I've honestly fallen in love with the rally car sound and I want my car to sound like this.

Well in the video they are using a H-patten Manual Gearbox not an Automatic Transmission. So the question you are asking is What gearbox are you using.

RallyKey Seeing as you don't have any initiative to go and do any research for yourself and want it hand fed to you like a child, Any Manual or Automatic from 1989-2008 will bolt up to an EG33.

Finally, a subaru that doesn't have a weedwacker engine. I would love to have this car to drive to work. I won't be late in this car. Am i right?
This is the best sounding Subaru I've ever heard, I thought my Legacy B4 twin turbo sounded good, but this makes me want a H6 conversion even more!
You would be losing alot of power going from the ej20tt to ez30
True. Sold that Subaru in the end, replaced it with another JDM import twin turbo. Between the two JDM imports, the EJ206 (98-03 Legacy (Japan)) was the better twin turbo, the EJ20R (96-98 Legacy (Japan)) engines sound a bit rattley on idle, EJ206 was much more refined, and despite both being factory 276hp engines, the EJ206 was more fun to drive and felt more powerful than the EJ20R. Have a look on the net for Andy Forrest's 'Stormtrooper'. It's a H6 with a twin turbo setup and running over 1000bhp at the wheels and a GTR drivetrain. Beast of a car.

@@1mawesomel1kethat That wasn't mine, it's a guy called Andy Forrest who runs Andy Forrest Performance/AFP. He built it and fabricated a GTR drivetrain system and uses motorcycle sprockets and chains to drive each wheel. It's build on a tube chassis and body is completely carbon fibre. It was a World Time Attack Car (WTAC) that he built. If you Google AFP Stormtrooper you'll find it. He put huge amounts of time and research into it!
