I love your tee shirt, and you are totally inspiring!! Thanks you so much for being so generous!!! :)
Thank you so much, Kathy! Nirvana got me through high school. ;)
Hello, where would i find curved type for the hot stamp? I have looked, and can't seem to find it online.
I don't know! I would reach out to the folks at WorkOnLeather on Etsy to see if they can make curved letters for you.
Hi Lori! Thanks for the content! Can this machine stamp on plastic and glass? I'm a small cosmetic manufacturer and looking for something like this to do perfume, skincare, and, makeup caps? Thank you! 💓
Hi! Oh I have no idea about glass or plastic. My guess is that it *might* be able to stamp on plastic, but you'd have to be really careful not to melt it. If you're on Facebook you can join our group called Foil Stamped Pencil Maker Collective and ask if anyone in there has tried plastic or glass! There are over 1,000 people using these machines in there so someone must have some insight.
Hi... I have bought a similar machine after seeing this informative video. But when I tried to stamp a pencil, I found that the pencils are thin and fonts are big. So, What size of font you are using for stamping pencils? Thanks.
I use 3mm/10 pt font for my pencils. Larger type looks great on paper, leather, etc.!
Hi Lori, what would you suggest for round pencils? Or large jumbo ones? (I'm actually looking to do makeup brushes). Thanks!
Hi Janella! I think you might be able to get a nice stamp on a round brush if it's very big, but you'll have try and see. With round brushes you will typically need to use type designed with a curve to get a uniform stamp. I've seen people press really hard on a regular round brush with standard flat type, but that's harder to get a consistent press and you're likely to get some splintered wood if you do that.
Hi !! where can i get the machine ? and i will love to join your FB group
Hi, Luana! I purchased my machine from WorkOnLeather on Etsy. Our FB group is facebook.com/groups/foilstampedpencils Join us!!
I just found you and I LOVE your videos
Thank you so much, Jamie!
Really want to start a stationary shop. This would be an awesome thing to add. Can you recommend where to look for pencils? Not asking for trade secrets lol just don’t know where to even start.
You should join our FB group, we share everything!!! These would be PERFECT for a stationary shop!
If you're in the states, RW School Supply sells hex pencil blanks by the gross. I buy most of my pencils from them: www.rwschoolsupply.com/store/pc/Pencil-Blanks-c357.htm The RW pencils are made in the US by Musgrave Pencils: musgravepencil.com/ (You can also buy directly from Musgrave)
EZ Pencils sells hex blanks in sets of 12: ezpencils.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=125_127_138
I haven't been able to find blank hex colored pencils yet, so I imported mine from a manufacturer on Alibaba.com.
(The EZ Pencils have different ferrule and eraser colors, while the Musgrave pencils are all uniform. Just something to consider depending on your preference.) :)
This is such a great tip! Thank you! Currently not on FB lately but maybe I’ll check into the group soon. 🤩
@@girlvsfascist I keep trying to get off FB, but this little pencil group is so valuable that I can't!
