Phone patch was predominantly used in the USA.Over here in the UK we were not allowed to transmit 3rd party traffic, but you could hear phone patch transmissions on the 20 meter band regularily :) Great set up and great vid too :)
In Ham Radio different frequencies are sometimes used for pile ups for DX stations. Everyone will call on one frequency and the DX station will listen on another frequency.

The RF ATT reduces strong signals and the 25 khz 100 khz switch when on so you can calibrate the tuning dial , the Carifier moves the receiver freq for example it a station is off freq and it moves the receiver to freq he is on without changing the transmitter freq, and the Heater switch switches on the driver filament voltage an plate voltage and the 2 output tube filament voltage and the plate voltage
cool video. I just got a good condition FT101B for free from a friend. It almost went out in the trash. Hasn't been turned on in decades. Going to power it us very very soon. I hope it works good.
This is one of the first "hybrid" radios. The receiver section and much of the low stage transmit sections are solid state and need no warm up time. The heater switch lights the filaments of the 12BY7A driver tube and the 6JS6C final tubes. These need a minute or so to warm up before transmitting. Keep your tune up time short! The final tubes will blow if you run them mistuned too long at high power. They are expensive and not easy to find as they have been out of production well over 35 years.
When those radios are in top alignment you would be amazed at the rx sensitivity and how quite the rx is. They have a really good receiver. I'm very familiar with those in operation and repair. If you have any questions about it please let me know. #15 MS 38 lsb.
Hello 151 SC, nice classic rig and will run great on SSB. Looks to be in great shape. Just keep an eye out on the tubes and "caps". probably bring it to your local technician for a yearly checkup. I do believe the 25Khz/100Khz switch is for the bandwidth using a filter to make it more narrow and the RF ATT switch will reduce your receive by a certain amount (20 dB or less), see manual for how many dB it will reduce it. Enjoy your Yaesu (and all your others) and hope to talk with you one day on the band. 73 from 770- RI.
My friend who specializes in Yaesu 101 that's all he works on he has people all over the world sending their radios to him for repair if you would hear how that radio sounds on a.m. side of the band they are very loud with the proper microphone
I had one. I didn't use it a lot and it did only 10/15W carrier on AM. I think the tubes where not good anymore. a friend of mine got his HAM license and i gave the radio to him. He still uses it with the tubes it came with. He says 10W is enough.

You have the entire 101b setup with all accessories except maybe the station monitor scope. If you ever plan on getting into ham radio that 101b is a really good starter radio and can still perform beautifully if the alignment is good. Be careful tuning it up as the output tubes 6js6c can't take long keydown periods and are pricey to replace. I've got a 101b 101e hear and still use them periodically. That's because that's not a frequency counter all that is a frequency display I had several radios I have the b101e 101 double e and currently have a 201 the reason 11 only works on 10B is because that's where the crystal is installed

The FT101 sold over a million, the majority to CBers, Yaesu included 11M 27.0 to 27.5MHz
to the band selector, with only a missing wire for TX
What about the COBRA 200 GTL DX AF/FM/SSB/CW it is the only CB Transceiver that puts out 100W RF on TX
The 200 is marketed as a 10m radio just like all the rci, quixang made brands etc. Far from the only one that does 100 watts. Several do way more
