    Now you've done it. I just made another impulse buy. Looking forward to trying it out on the 10, 12 and 15-meter bands. I was going to go with the QT60 but I liked the VFO function on this radio. I ordered the Anytone version on Amazon. I have my general but always seem to end up on the 11-meter band. Thanks for a very informative video. Keep them coming!

      I bought a QT60 about a year ago. I like everything about it except that horrible orange display. I bought it specifically for 11 meters, and converted it. It's nice and clean on 11 meters AM/SSB. Then this comes along. I'm not going to wait for Santa, I'm just going to buy it. $299 on Amazon. If it works out I'll probably sell the QT60.

    I've watched several QT-80 videos but yours is the most comprehensive of them all. I want this radio SO much. You mentioned doing the jumper switch to get into 15m. Is that the only reason for the jumper swap? My biggest reason for wanting this radio is for 11m (CB - GASP!) and 10m. Everyone else seems to indicate the jumper swap is needed to access 11, 12, 15 meters. All my ham buddies poo-poo CB but I'm a retired trucker and cut my teeth on CB. I just upgraded my ham ticket to General and have totally embraced HF. But, I'm still a CB fan through and through.

    • @MowerJunkie
      @MowerJunkie  День назад +1

      Thanks so much. I left the jumper in the factory position, and the only thing my radio won't do is the 15 meter band.

    Isn't the QT80 an anytone 6666 clone? A lot of these radios are the same radio (board, case and face) other than maybe different finals or receivers. I think the Stryker 955 has the same board as the 6666 and so on. I guess you have to move one wire on the 955 but haven't gotten into ham yet but I'm thinking of getting started that's kind of why I was looking at these convertible radios. Hope you had a good Christmas and have a Happy New Year!

    I'm currently using in any tone quad 5n1 the 30 watt model. Which I have peaked at 50 Watts on SSB and 30 on am. I really do want to get one of these radios but I may have to part with some things first to get it. I have a easy ftdx 1200 and if I can sell that then maybe I can get two of these radios. But more likely one of these radios and a nice 200 to 500 watt amp. Thanks to the videos enjoy everything that you do 73. From 324 Western Pennsylvania.
