Leave enough space for crumpled newspaper packed in fairly tightly top, bottom, all sides. Isolate individual items if packed in the same box. Don't ship around the holidays. Those air plastic "bags" are useless for packaging. Bubble wrap isn't far behind. The end result of poor packaging isn't worth anybody's time. The worst packagers work for Amazon. Seller should apply there
I sold on ebay for almost 10 years, and your exactly right. Folks think "as is no returns" means they are free and clear and its not like that.Ebay will force you to take it... You still have to get it to the buyer in the shape it was on the listing. you can always get a return on "not as described".... Though it goes both ways, bad buyers make use of that too just like Rooster mentioned here....

I wish I could share pics on here. I recently placed an order at Walmart, and part of the order was a box of dryer sheets. The order came from multiple warehouses, but on the box of dryer sheets, they simply slapped the label on the lil box and sent it via FedEx just like that. No packaging whatsoever lol. Surprisingly it made the trip unscathed
Sounds like it's a bad situation all the way around. Well the reason that most sellers get away with that is because a lot of buyers don't know better. Anyway great video appreciate the info.... wait a minute I just remembered he had Ace Ventura Pet Detective to deliver that LOL
I normally have items professionally packed and pass that on.. sometimes i eat it because of situations like this guy. Everyone wants to save a buck. Also Mind buying electronics you'll get roaches.
I would think everyone would know that the shipping people be it USPS, UPS, FED EX etc would know these people in the hubs that handle packages are gorillas. I am surprised things that are packed good make it in one piece. I had a guitar come in a single box loose with a few pieces of bubble wrap poorly packed and it came to me in pieces. It amazes me what people think is good packing. I got my money back. I have bought a few radios on Ebay most were packed pretty good. The radios I have bought from you Rooster were packed good in the Lowes boxes with lots of bubble wrap.
I'll say this I've bought a ton of smaller items and bigger on eBay I've never had an issue with broken items or non working..now on Amazon I've had items that didn't work broken missing parts but yet they list as new that's happened about 4 times now I trust eBay more than I do Amazon!!!
You are absolutely a 100%, right? They have to refund your money if they do not.Ebay will and if you used paypal they will refund your money As long as you do not use friends and family with paypal paypal We'll refund your money
Oh yeah for sure. I'm not too bent about it. Honestly I could sell the stuff and probably lose $100 or less, but , like you mentioned it won't be necessary
The recording of you "opening it" doesn't mean anything. There's only tape on the box, no tamper proof seal that would prove it hasn't been opened yet.
Doesn't matter, regardless the radio came damaged and doesn't power on as pictured= item not as described/damaged in shipping. Video wasn't even submitted as proof and doesn't need to be. The video was done more as a teaching tool and for conversation. This isn't my first rodeo. Buying on eBay for 18 years and selling for around 14 comes with a few lessons.

They are terrible at packaging, and have been getting worse.
That was not packed by Amazon. The eBay seller just used an old Amazon box to ship it.
I laughed as well lol, but for a completely different reason.
When I saw the box I said there's no way he got everything in there". 🤣
Prob packed ot like that to cover for it not working 🌞
I have a Cobra 2000 it has stopped receiving and transmitting the blank it can be fixed?
There's almost nothing on a 2000 that can't be fixed.
sorry my friend 😢that guy is a piece of crap
I shipped eggs across the country before all the restrictions and had great reviews on ebay. I promise they were packed better than that.
@@mikeh8374 for sure! I've packed junk radios better than this, guaranteed lol
What was the sellers ID???
Can't share that, eBay policy, but if you search sold listings you'll see it
I'll say this I've bought a ton of smaller items and bigger on eBay I've never had an issue with broken items or non working..now on Amazon I've had items that didn't work broken missing parts but yet they list as new that's happened about 4 times now I trust eBay more than I do Amazon!!!
hope that you can get it to working again. 10-4
Sorry to hear that Rooster, this Canadian wishes you were closer
Buyer beware. Such on-line purchased .... Yeah.
Damn that's a real bummer.
I pack the ever livin crap outta anything I send out but I also always get insurance on it cuz I've seen some crazy stuff.
No insurance.
@@robertswearingen4353 ups wouldn't insure a packing job like that
You are absolutely a 100%, right? They have to refund your money if they do not.Ebay will and if you used paypal they will refund your money As long as you do not use friends and family with paypal paypal We'll refund your money
Daggone it he is in Kentucky too that sucks
Rooster I'll sell you a super nice 2000 with two speakers and pack it up properly.
Looks like No1 Son packed it.
nice radio.
EBay will put a hold on his account, and you will get your $$$ as you know. Terrible shipping, for sure. I found the seller on Ebay. Lazy guy.
Oh yeah for sure. I'm not too bent about it. Honestly I could sell the stuff and probably lose $100 or less, but , like you mentioned it won't be necessary
Shame on the mess
The recording of you "opening it" doesn't mean anything. There's only tape on the box, no tamper proof seal that would prove it hasn't been opened yet.
Doesn't matter, regardless the radio came damaged and doesn't power on as pictured= item not as described/damaged in shipping.
Video wasn't even submitted as proof and doesn't need to be. The video was done more as a teaching tool and for conversation.
This isn't my first rodeo. Buying on eBay for 18 years and selling for around 14 comes with a few lessons.
@@Rooster_Radio Brave man buying used radios from ebay. Heard too many people getting burnt that way.
@@mike---
You can get burned buying something at a CB break or ham fest in person, and guess what? Zero protection from getting scammed there unless there's a test station where you can see it work.
The postal service is a joke now. They don't care how they treat your packages.
@@michaelfike7542 Lost count how many UPS packages have holes in in outer box and product box inside it.
The talking drove me away. To much.
I guess you couldn't see it was a 17 minute video😂😂😂
when i was selling on e bay I state in my ad working sold as is if you purchace this unit you are agreeing on the NO RETURN policy and EBAY has stuck with me everytime
I sold a Yaseu HT on eBay years ago, it was flawless and yet the buyer did not bother to read the shipping time. He left negative feedback and I was done with the whole thing.
Karma....
i bought 3 seperate Grundig 1600/1601. all said they work-none worked and sellers wont help. i need someone who works on these.
Bummer! Only reason I've got what i have is because of Ebay. Back before i broke my neck and back and could work i bought radio equipment off Ebay. I got lucky with everything i got nock on wood! Let us know how the battle goes.
I generally have good experiences, because I use discretion on who I buy from, but like I mentioned, you can still get bad deals from a bad or cheap seller that doesn't want to spend money on shipping. But like this guy, had no issues charging $95 to ship lol
Must be a mud duck special
