    good interviewer and Vitalik is very smart but obviously very nervous too, it's mostly due to his age I guess, yet to hit mid 20s even...I bet he'd get better at lectures/interviews in the future.

    Thanks for sharing this higly informational piece of progress on the Ethereum chain. I just made an observation, thats when Vitalik is talking about sharding at 12:53. I couldn't help realizing he is talking about Matrix AI Network's delegate system, which is exactly doing this, plus integrating another layer of verifying nodes. The POW + POS hybrid, Vitalik is introducing for the Ethereum chain as being still on a theoretical level is far developed on Matrix' chain to my knowledge. Them launching mainnet very soon makes me think of this as almost a race that is going on on that side of technological evolution taking place in the space. Well, just my two cents, peace!

    We have seen this before, proof of stake - the guys who run your bank( well, not quite..but you get the idea). This is basically centralization through the backdoor ( in a convoluted inefficient way). Vitalik is undoubtedly Brilliant, but this mad! (caveat: I didn't understand everything he said , but doesn't pass my common sense test). Plasma thing he explained, made no sense -why is this so f*ing complicated, when your basically re-centralising ethereum ..

    • @williamwendt6772
      @williamwendt6772 5 лет назад +5

      Proof of stake is not centralization. It could lead to centralization if people do not state their coins as much as people who have more wealth then them stake their coins leading to increased ETH for the wealthy and decreased gains for the less wealthy. You could argue that this is likely, but the outcome is still only staking COULD lead to centralization. Compare this to proof of work which WILL lead to centralization. This is because the barrier to entry in this scenario is not owning one ETH but is actually the cost of mining equipment. Much larger barrier to entry as well as means the majority of people who want ETH can not gain more except through purchasing more. Vitalik describes in a different interview that Proof of Stake is indeed the rich getting richer but proof of work is the rich getting richer squared. In my mind this passes the common sense test. Also I can not understand in any way how plasma would result in re-centralizing ETH. Please explain your train of thought on how this would be the case.
