Teaching my son to drive and having the same problem with lack of engine noise to help with gear changes. Followed your instructions and 15 mins later after cutting the marked portion out - voila we have a Rev counter! Thank you!
Since a few weeks i have a C1 LHD, i life in Holland. In the trunk was a rev counter with a RHD cover. Because the wires with the connector are on de lefthand side in my C1 i need a cover for a LHD C1. Or cut out the original cover but i'am afraid to damage the cover. How easy is it to cut the part out?
The RHD revcounter sits on the other side from the LHD version, we now need someone in europe to get a UK revcounter and add it to their aygo for double revcounter goodness.
Man, I didn't know it's that much of a simple plug'n'play job, with the connector already existing! The more I know, the more I love my 107! I'm certainly gonna fit the rev counter to mine then because I like listening to the 1KR-FE when it revs out at 6500rpm, so I want to be able to see it too! Thank you very much for this mini tutorial! 😀 I also didn't happen to know you must have the engine on in order to turn the steering wheel. I mean, this triplet of cars has electric power steering, so this shouldn't be the case, right? 🤔
Great video, I have twin daughters who are about to start driving, I'm on the lookout for two of those cars. We'll done, I like that kinda job as well.
This was a common mod with the Aygo because Toyota didn't spec a rev counter on any of their version of the car for a few years so people bought the C1/106 part for them. In an odd twist of fate the new Aygo is by far the most "funky" of the trio now they've all been restyled.
Something to point out the standard cover without the cutout has a cutout label behind it so can use that as a template to cut out and for the rev counter to slot between. Did this on my 107 I had and saved money by not getting a cover with the rev counter cutout
put c1 rev counter on my AYGO very easy to do thanks 4 this vid, my aygo looks cool in side be coz not many aygo,s out there that have rev counter on them
Honestly, up until a few weeks ago, I thought it was standard on all three models (107/Aygo/C1), because my mom's Aygo had it. I noticed it when I parked next to a 107 had the "snail eye" wasn't there.
Where did you get your rev counter? I haven’t found one for under £95 for that Kit I think it’s a little pricey. Considering I got a rev counter for my Lexus for less then 25 quid.
Ever since buying and fitting a rev counter to mine the p/s light has come up on the dash I've tried a new "power steering ECU" to see if that would get rid of it, which it did for 10 mins the second I started driving again the fault was back be careful doing this!!!!
Listen to the engine yeah but also you can look what speed your doing and the road to determine what gear you should use ... also especially in these cars you can feel how the cars responding .. i dont need a rev counter 😂👌 Good vid tho man
Just scrapped my 107 with rev counter and replaced with a C1 without one, oh how i wish i'd seen this video before they took the old car away i would have simply swapped them over aaaarrrgh!
It depends from if you have the Power steering or not. Without Power steering, there is no wire for the rev counter. If your car has Power steering there must be the wire somewhere.
Looking at buying a C1 and was wondering how easy or difficult it would be. Glad you showed how easy it is.
these cars are so easy to work on. everything fits together like lego pieces
Did this for my son's Aygo. Thanks for the video. Literally a 10 minute job.

@@nickvlaanderen It was very easy to cut out. It’s clearly marked so just follow the line. I used a very fine sawblade in a jewellers saw.
@@gordonewan144 Ok, thanx for your reaction!

lol
It would be nice if you could change the design of the RHD version from revs to coolant temp!

It would be like driving round with Mickey Mouse staring up at you though.
Pro tip: you can watch series at Flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
my aygo is my first car mine doesn't have a rev counter but i feel like it get you better at listening out for revs overall making you a better driver
Thanks for this, just done it myself and it was as easy as you highlighted.
Thank you, an absolutely spot on and friendly guide to this. I've just done mine this evening, so helpful!

Thanks, I watched your video before fitting a rev counter to my daughters Aygo.
Thanx for this. I got one from a scrap yard for 20 quid and fitted it in half an hour works great and looks cool

Aygo was comming with rev counter if you were ordering like that, it was an extra such as alouminioum rims, half leather seats...

Thankyou, I'll be doing same for my lad's Aygo :)
I gt the Base model too and tht wot I did went to a breakers and gt one, it was easy to do
The pre-installation is already done for the basic versions, that is, you only need to buy the rev counter and the dashboard? Thank you for 107
What type of screwdriver is this?
So you didn't need to cut into at like you said at the beginning?
You are guru mate. Great video.
ive just bought a rev counter, but there is no wire for it to go into why is this, and what do i do?
Very helpful x

Well the gearing is fairly tall, and it does struggle on hills so........
@@rob5944 2nd gear goes up steep hills no problem but yes the gearing is strangely tall and they are hugely under powered on main roads 😂
how does it costs (taho)

Bit of a phaff however, some value in this video. So not an entirely damp squib whatnot. Bravo.
Peace ✌️ out people
very Cool!
very helpfull thank you
Yes Simples! Well done. Did it light up in the dark?
No
I can't find the wire on my 2011 peagout 107??

Thank you for this video. Will adding rev counter affect insurance as a modification?
just don't declare it. it's so minor and it's standard on newer models. no one would know
I was planning on installing a rev counter in the A pillar so it looks kind of like a boost gauge. How easy would that be?
byd f0 is similar to toyota aygo, citroen c1 and peugeot 107
Good video but... It's a Tachometer.
Car red vw up
Good vid apart from the terrible camera work :(
OMG Fossil Fuel Engine Car - that's a dinosaur ...
Yeah, but a tiny nice dinosaur 🦕 . LOL :-)
I have a solution...sell the car, and invest in an automatic....problem solved.
Colin R automatic is for pussies
Get an auto an become an shit lazy driver ... nahhh i drive one of these with stick an dont need a rev counter either 😂
