Hayden does such a good job with his facial expressions. I feel like you know exactly what is going through his character's mind just by his facial expression. Those shots of Anakin wrestling with his thoughts and the tears rolling down his cheeks is fantastic. It lets you know he is struggling so much inside that he is unable to hold back the tears. literally giving up his soul for power to save Padme (and fulfill his need to be all powerful).

Qui Gonn spirit taught Obi Wan to become a force ghost, (at the end of the movie Yoda said to Obi that someone returned from the netherworld of the force). In all those years in solitude in Tatooine Obi Wan learnt it. That´s why he told Vader in episode IV: "if you strike me down, I´ll become more powerful that you can possibly imagine".

Its easy to see from our point of view that Palpatine is evil but Anakin has known him for about 13 years+ and saw him as a father and a confidant he could tell secrets he'd never tell any of the jedi, he told him about how he killed the sand ppl to save his mom and other personal stuff but yeah he was being manipulated hardcore for years so it was hard for him to spy on him let alone think he's bad.

your spot on! Hes actions trying to save padme, are the things that ultimately killed her. Anakins story is heartbreaking when you realise he’s path to the dark side doesn’t stem from greed, but simply fear of standing by and losing padme like he lost he’s mother, Yoda said let go of fear, yoda was right. Fear lost him everything he loved.

Despite what anyone says anakin and Vader are the same being. The reason Vader sees anakin as separate is a dissociative disorder he employed to cope with the evil he has done. It's too traumatic for him to see himself as anakin knowing what he's done. That's also the reason he was even capable of disavowing the dark side in the end. He accepted what really happened to him.

    • @WilliamMoses355
      @WilliamMoses355 7 месяцев назад +5

Not a popular opinion, but I agree with you. Yoda and Obi-Wan were similarly speaking out of their trauma and trying to save Luke from it. But lots of people get manipulated into doing horrible things that we wouldn't expect from them; doesn't make them new people.

About the Dark Side: the Dark Side can be a double-edged sword for the users. It leads to power, but it also requires the user to have the composure to subdue the Dark Side. It does corrupt and physically degrade even the most powerful users. The yellow eyes are a representation of a full dive into the Dark Side, complete devotion to anger and passion.

Everyone telling you not to watch certain things. Just because they didn't like them doesn't mean you won't. I have my suggested order and I'm sure some will disagree but here goes. BBY means Battle Before Yavin; basically Episode IV when Luke destroys the first Death Star
    Rogue One- Leads into Ep.IV
    Solo - 10 BBY
The Clone Wars 19 BBY(chronological order)
    Tales of the Jedi
    The Bad Batch- 17-19 BBY
    Kenobi 10 BBY
    Rebels 5 BBY
    Andor 5 BBY
The Mandalorian Seasons 1 and 2
    The Book of Boba Fett
    The Mandalorian Season 3
    Ahsoka
There will be people that have their preferred order but that's mine. Definitely watch everything regardless of how you decide to watch them.

A lot of people said Anakins turn was too quick and unrealistic. But I always saw it as you just get possessed by the spirit of the dark side. So it's not really him suddenly becoming a murderer. He's more like possessed.

Also don’t forget Anakin has never had a father or father figure, really. He was a slave who knew Qui-Gon for a couple days when he was 8 or whatever, then Obi-Wan could be considered an older brother or father but the Jedi specifically try not to have attachments. So here’s this older man, Palpatine, who has been watching him since he was a child, and just imagine how being noticed by the Chancellor would affect a young man. Let alone Palpatine’s manipulation for years.

The novelization of the film is not official canon. It tells a slightly different story in two ways. [When the audience learns about the Sith Lord and the nature of the task the Jedi Council assigned to Anakin.]
The reader is told where the Sith Lord is hiding very early in the story, prior to the fight with Dooku.
The Council discussed making Anakin a Jedi Master. They decided not to because Anakin was a master of the Force, but not a master of his emotions.
The assignment given to Anakin was significantly different. The Council could sense the dark side surrounding the Chancellor.
The Council suspected the Sith Lord was hiding in his inner circle and bending the Chancellor to his or her will.
The only reason the Council did not suspect the Chancellor is because he was already leader of the galaxy.
Obi-Wan convinced Anakin that he would be protecting the Chancellor from the Sith Lord, not spying on him.
The assignment was also a test of Anakin’s loyalties, the Jedi or the Chancellor. Anakin passed the test when he immediately reported his findings to Master Windu.
Master Windu instructed Anakin to wait for him in the Council Chambers. He intended to convene the Council and elevate Anakin to the rank of Jedi Master.
Obi-Wan hinted at this when he told Anakin that it won’t be long before the Council made him a Jedi Master.

The double climactic lightsaber duel that takes place toward the end of the movie, Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader VS Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar and Yoda VS Emperor Palpatine on Coruscant in the Senate chamber are top notch across the board. New/young people reaching all the way back to 1960s & watching ST: The Original Series isn't easy (series is very dated, some don't care for the "realities of the times" it was made), but it's the beginning & characters are foundation of ST. There are many young people on RUclips who do Orig Series & happy they did. It wld be a long road (but I think a great one) of u did ST Orig Series, Next Generation, Deep Space 9, Voyager & the Enterprise series. There's also movies for Original & Next Generation crews. Yeah, Tynia & Star Trek cld be a lot of fun! :)

If you choose to continue with the Sequel Trilogy, I will be there with you as well. I'm always interested in the opinions of less entrenched fans when it comes to the Sequel Trilogy, I find them to be less biased by prior knowledge of the de-canonized material of the Expanded Universe. Once Jinn was killed, Palpatine played a "mentor" and friend role to Anakin...someone Anakin could turn to when he had issues with Kenobi. You can then watch Tales of the Jedi which are like 10 minutes shorts that are filled with missing information. It is a very good series using the same animation style as the Clone Wars. I would watch Rogue One after that followed by the Andor series, Obi-Wan Kenobi series and then Rebels. After Rebels I would watch the Mandalorian followed by Ahsoka.

The things in the bubble are fish. They are Mon Calamari, the same species as Admiral Ackbar (IT'S A TRAP! guy) and the show is a performance of 'Squid Lake' which is the Star Wars version of the famous play "Swan Lake".
And yes, the Chancellor supplied him with the nightmares about his wife AND his hunger for power that he feels a few scenes later.
Vader is considered a different person from Anakin, yes. So I guess it is a new identity or persona.
Obi-Wan actually cut off 3 limbs, not just his legs. He gets Anakin's remaining flesh arm too.
Hiding Luke on Tatooine is a stroke of genius because the planet is a source of immense pain and hatred for Vader, he will never voluntarily step back on it if he can help it. Which coincidentally is reflected in the original trilogy. Tatooine is the only planet/moon in those movies that Vader has a reasonable opportunity to step foot onto and he doesn't do it (Yavin is the other but considering the Moon was scheduled to be blown away by the Death Star and there was a space battle during the attack he doesn't go there), meanwhile in the sequels he steps on Hoth, Bespin and Endor.

Regarding watch order, I might suggest watching Rogue One before The Force Awakens. It ties Episodes 3 and 4 together nicely. But if you stick with release order, it's only one movie later, so not a huge deal either way.

    All
Of this could have been avoided if the jedi treated Anakin with affection and respect (and maybe rescued his poor mother) instead of secretly calling him the chosen one but also keeping him at arms length. Outside of Qui Gonn and Obi Wan none of them really cared about him
As a person. And that is the perfect situation for a manipulative power hungry politician like Palpatine to take advantage of. I know people hate the Last Jedi but that movie briefly touches on this reality.

When Yoda tells Anakin to learn to let go, he explains that death is a NATURAL part of life. It is inevitable that we all will lose the ones we love. Being willing/able to "let go" is being willing able to accept reality. Palpatine tells Anakin, when talking about "saving" people from death, specifically refers to such powers as "unnatural". Anakin deceiving Yoda while seeking council didn't help. Anakin has already made up his mind. He tells Padme and Yoda he 'won't let' these visions come true. It's why he refuses Padme's suggestions to seek Obi-Wan's help. He knew before he met with Yoda the Jedi didn't believe in cheating death.

The clone wars animated tv series really builds more on just how tragic Anakains fall really is. He was a genuine hero of the clone wars. Between palpatines manipulation and the jedis arrogance/distrust, Anakin rly was a victim.

You should watch Rogue One. I'm not sure if you like animation, but the animated series The Clone Wars and Rebels would open you up to a whole other side of the Star Wars fanbase. Then you could tackle The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and Andor. But this would be like a 3 or 4 year commitment, haha. It would really build your channel, though. Don't bother watching the sequels or Obi-wan or Solo.

There are many that believe that Palpatines face was really disfigured from excessive experimentation with Sith alchemy and used the force to appear normal then waiting for the opportune time to reveal his true form and use it to his advantage in front of Anakin. Palpatine was the master at manipulation planning the entire war playing both sides with his goal for the Sith to take over

In my opinion, the Jedi Council pushed Anakin a lot to the dark side. They were afraid of him, and because of that, never trusted or gave him anything of importance... creating more and more insecurity, frustration and doubts on Anakin. On the other side, Palpatine played perfectly a performance to turn him completely (apart of put him those dreams about Padme´s death).

    • @louiedavis4909
      @louiedavis4909 7 месяцев назад +1

Jedi council did not do anything wrong. They were acting accordingly. Anakin couldn't let go of his fears or anything else that would cause him to go to the dark side. Yoda even tells 9-year-old Anakin that you have too much fear in you. Even Mace Windu tells Anakin that he senses much confusion in him. But that is my take and understanding. Just like my take and understanding on the whole Luke and Leah kisses. Those kisses weren't nothing major. The first one was for good luck because they were about to swing across to avoid the Storm Troopers. The second kiss was to make consolo jealous or mad. The third kiss was out of caring and concerned. Because Luke just got his hand chopped off and was almost going to die. Nothing wrong was done.

    • @samwest1097

A lot of people give Anakin crap over the kids, but consider that he was a slave nearly from birth and knowing roughly what they would go through under the Emperor's "training" if spared he genuinely believed death would be a great mercy; even wishing someone had granted it to his mother and he on some dark days. Death is the only mercy that Darth Vader can give, but the Emperor may force you to live on in a constant sensation of agony, shame, and self-loathing, unsightly and alone for the rest of a life that you are forced to thank him for as you inhale each breath. Darth Plaguis and Darth Vitiate? Those two may force you to live forever, resurrecting you countless times after torturing you to death.
