Dark and outdated vintage dresser gets a whole new gorgeous look!
When I see a dresser with those large chunky detail pieces on the drawers, I can hardly wait to remove them! That was definitely the case with this one too!
After removing all the pieces of trim, it simplified the drawers to allow those twisted edge details to shine. I liked them and they think the aligned with the design that I had in mind.
I created a custom color using Benjamin Moore Monticello Rose and a couple of light gray and beige paints. I love mixing colors and although I love Monticello Rose, I wanted it a bit more muted, which is exactly what I got. The perfect pink for a little girl’s dresser!

A suggestion for your drawer liners. Go to the quilting department and buy a cutting mat, ruler and rotary cutter. You are so particular and will love the perfection and speed that you can cut with this. Beautiful work.

All of those nails poking out looked like a nightmare 😳 Fortunately, you have the knowledge and experience to deal with that surprise. I would have aborted that mission 😅 The final result is absolutely amazing! What a transformation!

Question, does Stix primer block bleed through? I’m looking for a good water based primer that works as good as Bin shellac primer but easier to clean up in sprayer

It does in most cases. But if I get bleed through after Stix, I spray paint a thin coat of shellac primer. Once it dries I sand and continue on. It’s rare, but sometimes I have to use it.
