Today in Cheezy's garage we test out the Mokwheel Basalt E-bike with a 750w hub drive and a pretty good top speed! Took it on and off road with a steep dirt hill climb. The bike performed very good and had excelent battery life for the terrain I took it on. I planned on doing some metal detecting, but the location didnt allow bikes! This is a Well build solid bike that should last for years with a 2 year warranty from the factory.

Great review,
I like that it's looks like a bicycle and not a motorcycle.
That seems to get less negativity from hikers.
That bike is really fast. I like it.
That's true
I would still buy my Kepler for $1,899 but this bike comes close to my speed needs and standards. You did well pulling off a 40 plus minute video. You covered it all.👍
Thanks
Yee-haw. You've got some beautiful scenery there.
Thanks!
RIP Pee-Wee
Glad you saw that! I used peewee a lot in my videos RIP
Has an adjustable steering neck like mine. Nice
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cool video thanks. Probably a good comparison to what i will have to do in Colorado.
Except your hills are MUCH higher 😁
@@MotoCheez at least altitude doesn't affect performance with an electric motor like it does gas.
@user-kt9li2xi9h very true
I see said the blind man, as he picked up his hammer and saw. Nice lookin' bike.
E-bikes are always fun. I got a aventon aventure as mine.
Also torque sensor bike. If you have the 2 model.
@@kevinnashskitchen3517 I got the version 1. I always found the torque to be a bit jumpy and not smooth, so I bet the torque sensor will solve that.
Not a bad looking bike.
Not bad all in all I give it a 6.5. The bugs can be brutal detecting this time of year. I recently found a sweet sterling spoon detecting and i have the bites to prove it 🍀 So anyway I vote for an ONYX RCR next ⚡️😎
Bugs are bad for sure. I do want to test that one!
The suspension seat posts work pretty well, I just put one on my Aventon Adventure.
The seat on the Leoout scooter has suspension, it does work good
Where you took the photo op picture looks like a good fishing spot🧀 lots of rapids.
It is a good spot!
Very impressive. I asked yard crews about why they don't park in people's yard and I was told it's because if the home owner needs to leave.
Yeah don't inconvenience the person that's having work done, inconvenience hundreds on the road that drives by. Makes sense right? 🤣
@@MotoCheezbecause it's a lot easier to pull out into the lane than backing a trailer around a blind corner
I understand why they do it, it's still dangerous and illegal to park over the line, no cones or warning signs either lol
@@MotoCheez there were cones. You passed 3 of them. What else should they do? Hold up signs? Maybe you should pay attention since you're on the road and not a road course.
@djchristensen1 It's illegal to park on the highway or main road, period. Don't inconvenience hundreds of people driving by.
Maybe people that live in tough driveways to pull out of should just park on a road and still of pulling in their driveways 🤷
Does it have a cruise control mode or do you have to hold down the throttle the entire time?
I saw a cruise control in the setting but I did not test it so stock it does not have cruise control
Torque sensor with the rear hub is not common. How was it to pedal in top gear at 25 mph or so? Could you put in effort ? Or ghost pedal ?
It seems like about half of these e-bikes that I've tested did have a torque sensor on them. In high gear 25 mph was about it and you're pedaling like crazy
I'm here
bruh
2nd!
Wondering how the new full suspension obsidian will perform? 1000w. Seems like a contender to the Cobra and Ranger?
Does look good
I’m getting both the Basalt and the Obsidian on Friday. Can’t wait!!!
I used my bike light for a lamp while the power was out the other day. Charged my phone with the display USB port. 😁
That's a good idea, that was one thing that this did lack was a USB port
what is the factory setting for the Tacho Magnets
I don't know if the top of my head but I believe I showed a settings in the video you should be able to copy it from there. I'm not sure what section it was either I think I did figure that out and sais it in video
Hey Cheezy, I gotta know, what do you DO with all these bikes you are reviewing? Are they just sending them to you and you review them and send them back, or do you have a giant wonderland of motorcycles hidden on your property?
Always wanted to know this
I give some away to friends and people in need I've sold a few and I have quite a few still. Just gave one to motoRider2018
@@MotoCheez Nice! That's much better than having a barn stuffed full of stuff you don't have time to ride. As much as having a Motorcycle Wonderland does sound cool.
Have you ever thought about doing any longer rides on your bikes? Like riding the TAT or one of the smaller, regional trails?
That could be a cool series. With a vaguely risque name too: "Cheezy Rides the TAT". :)
I get invited every year to do some of those long rides but it always ends up I have so much to do between here and Florida it always falls on a time that I can't
Thanks I enjoyed the ride. Just got My Basalt and the weather is crappy. Snow and Rain here in Idaho..😅
Same at my CT location... Spring soon
Wired Freedom goes 38mph and is same price but is 60v 20ah peaks at 2300 watts and is full suspension. Chicago based company with outstanding customer service. No comparison between 60v and 48v, 60v is so much better as is full suspension.
Wow. Same price?
But does the Wired Freedom have solar?
How long did it take to arrive? I ordered mine 4 business days ago and they still haven’t even shipped it. Starting to think something is wrong
Mine took about five business days to get to me
@@MotoCheez yeah I definitely think there’s something wrong. Today is thr 4th business day and it’s really hard to get a hold of them via email
@hmhn4094 did you order it off my link? I can send them an email too If you want to send me your name and zip code to Motocheezmail@gmail.com
@@MotoCheez I had ordered it on their website after seeing your video but I didn’t know you had a link. They still stated in the product page that they would ship it within 2 business days yet they haven’t. I’m starting to think it was a scam or something.
@hmhn4094 I can contact them if you want
Not a bad bike.. except can't do the thumb throttle thing... Still waiting on the X26...!!! lol
Me too!
Were those birds merganser ducks?
I'm not sure, some kind of suck for sure
Rated R... for really good
I love your videos thank you
I'm from Southingnton CT
Thanks! You're not too far from me
This or Aventon Aventure 2?
I have not had the chance to review one of those yet
Taking it out to the snake river so you can send it😅
HI!
1st again! 👍🧀
According to the Owner’s Guide of the Mokwheel Basalt ebike, you can access the hidden menu by following these steps:
Press and hold both + and - keys to enter the parameter setting page.
Under the Setting sub-menu, short press + or - to adjust the value/unit.
After modification, the parameter will flash. After confirming the set parameter, press MODE to enter the parameter value set.
Press MODE again to exit the setting and save the parameters.
The hidden menu allows you to change various settings, such as the speed limit, the wheel size, the backlight brightness, and the battery voltage. You can find more details about each setting in the Owner’s Guide.
Mokwheel basalt does have cruise control
I must have missed it in the settings.
i cant find his videos anymore but i found a guy the would buy bikes and build small campers and give them to homeless people. then he started using E bikes putting solar panels on the campers and the last time i checked before i lost his channel he was getting over 200 km on a single charge. then let it set in the sun and took off again. i think thats about 125 miles to a charge. and thinking of trying it myself
wow i just noticed you have the throttle on the left side. WOW
Wow. That's impressive, and AWESOME
Yeah, I switch some of them to the right, but you have to have it push upward so it doesn't interfere with the shift select.
@@MotoCheez if anyone can figure it out you will. maybe move the shifter to the left
Hiya
Hi! 3rd
Healthy human legs are powerful. Use 'em if you got 'em. Your heart will thank you.
Battery only test
Let that battery cool down before putting it on the charger. It'll live longer.
I've never heard that one, I've heard that it the battery is cold in the winter it could ruin lithium cells. Or of course if it's overheated above the temperature recommended to charge which is usually 104 Fahrenheit
@@MotoCheez Heat is the killer of all battery types. Discharging and charging any type of battery creates heat. Keep your charger in the coolest spot you have. Lithium performs better in cold compared to a alkaline, NiCad or lead acid battery for example but all batteries take a hit when left in sub zero temperatures. I've lived and served in Alaska for most of my life and we use lithium batteries in critical things like headlamps because they're lighter than alkaline, but more importantly lithium performs noticeably better when it's REALLY cold.
Ever heard of the RI Leapfest? I used to compete in that before I retired.
Wow. Lithium performing better than wet acid or other type batteries in the sub zero cold. That's an absolute first time hearing of that. Any lithium motorcycle battery I've ever seen never starts in the winter and they want you to warm them up before starting them or even charging them, it's in the manuals and even online.
I know extreme heat is a killer, but so is extreme cold if you look up what killer is of lithium batteries
Now I never heard of that, I'm not doubting what you say I'm just going by information I've read on the internet and other people with lithium batteries and their motorcycles
Idk who the Andersons are but they have falls named after them close to me in Indiana Anderson falls Anderson Hill. Andersons camper on Beavis and butthead 😂🤷♂️ Anderson is famous as 💩 😂😂😂
🤣😂👍
Beep
Meep
Dude, don't you pedal at all? 😂
Not for battery test, no
