    I watch a lot of bike videos I own 3 different e-bikes, Big lies by all manufacturers range, the longevity of parts, and stated quality. I have been in the bike industry for 50 years. I keep saying the same thing to all these videos. 1. make real-world range statements, get rid of the outdated components, one of the biggest complaints is the gearing if they changed to cassette. Riders would have more options for appropriate gearing for their situation. current components are 200 dollar bike level for a 1600 dollar bike. they should be at least 9spd. The bike industry is on very thin footing right now with many of the companies thinking about bankruptcy. consumers have to the conclusion that all e-bikes are overpriced. This bike should be 1099 at the most not 1599. Now all of the Chinese-based resellers are having issues with parts. Companies in China are going out of business so fast the companies can't source repair parts electronics being the main issue. Even Lectric has pissed off its customer base because of repair issues. I have seen this very frame with a mid-drive motor on it they put a couple of plates on the frame and changed it to a hub drive. Great video!

    OMGosh! That's a great e-bike. I'm ancient, and I could ride that. Looks really solid too. E-bike/power station, who knew? It's above my pay grade, but yes, those are really good deals right now if you were planning on getting one. All the accessories are very practical too. Thanks for another great video. Have a great day.

    Very nice ebike. That lake looks perfect for a inflatable kayak.

    Hi David,
    Three post in one day? Wow! I hope you had time to gobble up some turkey yesterday while making all this awesome content. That is a neat bike and so versatile. A bike/power station combo. That would be a good bike to take on the Little Miami bike trail.
    That lake looked bigger than Stonelick, East Fork maybe? Never fished in East Fork, I have in Stonelick several times. Good Bluegill, Crappie and bullheads. If you ever go up towards Stonelick lake in the summer time, check yourself for ticks afterward, they're bad around there.
    Steve.

    Neat idea for a long range bike touring/camping rig! Some e-bikes have regenerative charging so it should be relatively easy for the manufacturer to add a front brake lock, sturdy center stand, and allow for stationary pedal charging at base camp. Maybe an accessory tent for bike and rider with integrated solar roof.

    Awesome video! I have been waiting for someone like you to look at this setup. Not so much the bike, I know it’s a great bike. But I haven’t seen anyone really review the inverter and the charging from solar. I would love to see what your opinion is on the best folding solar panel to pair with this system is. Thank you!

    That looks amazing. There are lots of e-bike riders/commuters where I live, and it's fun to watch them zoom up the hill outside the apartment building. I figured to get an E-bike when I give up driving in a few years, but with features like this product, I may make that purchase sooner than later.
    How well do e-bikes do with towing a utility trailer for things such as grocery shopping?

    The only thing I see the use for the ac inverter is for cooking on the trail. Like the mini dash appliances and a 350 watt water kettle

    Interesting bike with the solar charging capability for the battery. 👍
    Now wondering how to solar charge my RadRover battery (if/when needed) while I'm camping, instead of using the AC outlet on my EcoFlow unit. 🤔

    Get a small digital oscilloscope so you can check voltage and AC wave quality.

    A paved road/path on a 30% grade? 🤯 (30% is a *MONSTER* hill!)

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  7 месяцев назад

      30 deg. for sure. 30% is aggressive but not 30 deg.

    • @Sylvan_dB
      @Sylvan_dB 7 месяцев назад

      @@ReeWrayOutdoors National highway standards allow a max grade of 7%, only 6% in rural. A road at 15% is very steep.

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@Sylvan_dB Interesting... I was actually concerned about making that 20-30% claim because I wanted to be reasonably accurate. So before doing so, I looked up the following chart which suggests that 20-30% would equate to 11.31-16.7 deg. trailism.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/e-052.png Am I missing something? Or are we talking in different terms perhaps?

    • @Sylvan_dB
      @Sylvan_dB 7 месяцев назад

      @@ReeWrayOutdoors That diagram seems about right. It's all relative... 30% isn't steep for a roof, but it is steep for a road. The wikipedia page describes is as "Extremely steep road." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grade_(slope)
      I tend to think better in terms of rise over run.For example with numbers, a 30% grade means 30% = 100 * rise / run so a 20ft long vehicle being the "run", 30 = 100 * rise / 20 or 0.30 = rise / 20 or 20 * 0.30 = rise or rise = 6ft. In other words, a 20 foot long truck driving up a 30% grade would have the front bumper 6 feet higher than the back bumper. A 15% grade would be half that, or the front bumper 3 feet higher than the back. I've done both of those. The 30% is quite uncomfortable both up and down.
      On a 30% grade, a 50ft wide condo has the ground floor lined up with the second floor of the adjacent unit down the hill. 😅
      Back to a roof, IIRC the minimum pitch for asphalt shingles is about 2 in 12 but 3 in 12 is preferred. 100 * 3 / 12 = 25%.

      @@Sylvan_dB I do appreciate you taking the time to provide that detailed response. Seems I need to find a more precise way to measure a particular hill. But I will say that the hill in question is not a hill that I'd want to pedal up without motor assist. Haha

  • @Jp2209
    @Jp2209 4 месяца назад

    Do you have to actually pedal?

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  4 месяца назад

      No, you can use throttle-only when you don't feel like pedaling. On particularly steep hills though, you'd probably need to pedal lightly in a low gear to keep speed from dropping too much.

    I’m not a fan of the solar panel charging . Too much to do to charge it. You lost my interest.
