      Thanks! Teddy and I love doing this every week- I assume at some point he might not want to keep digging through people's trash with me, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts!

    I just stumbled across this awesome channel of yours. The connection you have with your son is beyond amazing and truly heartwarming. He's one super intelligent kid and he sure does love being with his dad! I'm in Central Florida and wish I had the opportunity to be a plant pirate like y'all, but we don't have anything like this in my neighborhood. Free plants are the best...plus you are rescuing them which is fantastic!! I'm so glad you got some good finds. I would love it if you would do a propagating video with before and after information. Most videos show how to do it but do not include the results. Keep bringing this great content.

      Thanks so much for the encouragement and ideas for new videos! We just made a video planting some of our cuttings in pots and we plan to make more of these and show the previously planted ones in the next propagating video so everyone can see what they look like after they’ve rooted and become established!

      Thank you! These adventures are so fun for us and we have learned so much from them! We have had so many people request a propagation video! We will get going on adding these videos for you guys! We made some planting pirates videos in the beginning and they didn’t get a lot of reception but we do have those to watch on the channel if you look under the plant pirates playlist:-)
      Thank you so much for watching! Our family loves making these videos!

    Your son is very intelligent! I taught third grade for 34 years and I certainly recognize bright children. He knows as much as his father and even notices the slight variations and knows that the sunlight or the lack of sunlight causes some of those variations. I was at a farmer's market and bought a hot poker plant and a variegated yucca. As I carried my plants to the car. I picked up a tradescantia stem all bruised up. There is no doubt that by the end of summer I will have made more than one plant from that stem/branch. I consider myself a propagation queen in New Jersey.

    Rubber trees and ficus are the worst, shallow roots that blow up sidewalks and hardscapes that grow even bigger when trimmed. Invasive root systems into any drain system.

    • @IslandsnHighlands
      @IslandsnHighlands  2 месяца назад

      Very true. They make great shade trees (away from structures) as well as potted plants!

    • @IslandsnHighlands
      @IslandsnHighlands  2 месяца назад

      They can be, but if planted away from those things they are an awesome fast growing hedge! They also are great houseplants- I’ve seen some awesome plantings where they flank both sides of a driveway and make a covered entrance to!
