    Amazing. And part of what might be lost in this is the challenge of just getting from the tram to the top of the Big Couloir. I've skied Big Sky twice and had the pleasure of watching people ski this, but I wouldn't get near it. 😱

    Terrible sketchy conditions and you took Elise, who seems to be an advanced beginner into the Big Couloir, she’s tremendous, very sure-footed but clearly still a long way from being an expert. So mom, dad you be proud. Think many I know, me included who can likely ski better than Elise at this stage, wouldn’t have made it through that narrow mogulled hard-pack traverse to the drop in ! Awesome video, inspiring, congrats to Elise and her mentor on the GoPro. Great stuff.

    • @angusmcdugal1
      @angusmcdugal1 5 лет назад +5

      You couldn't just let Elise enjoy her moment and had to give some instruction to make it about you. I sometimes wonder if Ski Instructors have forgotten about the joy and freedom of skiing. It is not about the separation, or the angulation, or even the weight transfer, it is really all about the smile on the face and the freedom. I think you should rethink your ability to give any type of ski instructor since you clearly have forgotten about the joy of skiing.

    • @DAVIDEPWDD
      @DAVIDEPWDD 5 лет назад +3

      @@angusmcdugal1 yep that's what it's all about ..... I didn't forget at all and I'm sorry you may feel that way but it also could be the result from your expression the likely hood of a poor experience which is completely understandable. As far as giving advice to be honest been teaching since 89 doesn't mean that I'm good but try to guide and assist and don't beat clients down with stuff just guide and assist for a more effective out come that results in more fun, more ski time and less injuries and most customers like that approach I don't beat them. I seem to get positive results . I do work with some adults but most of my students are children from ages 6-17 yrs old.. I just made a observation that I felt may contribute to her skiing nothing more nothing less and make it a even better experience than it already is...... If something is easier and more fun wouldn't you want that option? I know most would...... it's all about building and adding ingredients to better ourselves no matter what it is in life..... ........

    a bit overrated on the diamonds... thats equal to a single black rated run at Whistler. Corbet's Couloir at Jackson or Air Jordan or DOA at Whistler are triple blacks.

    • @fashan12
      @fashan12 11 месяцев назад

      This is 50 - 55 degrees, the steepest run at Whistler is 49 - 40 degrees. Corbet's Couloir is 40 degrees and usually a decently sized cornice at the top. Air Jordan and DOA are about 50 degrees. And not all places use the Triple black / Double black ex ratings, allot of places don't use double blacks and sometimes have Triple blacks even.
