Good video dude. I skied Big Sky this past February 2019 and the run you skied was not accessible due to conditions. But now, after viewing your video, I have an idea of what I missed out on. Thanks for sharing it. Looks like hiring a guide is a good way to navigate.

We were there in Feb 2019 also, loved it! First time we finally hit a place where we had fresh powder. We had 42" of snow the week we went to Big Sky, the best! Happy riding! :)

IN the first few moments of the video, when I saw you side-slipping down the narrow, icy part, with the fencing on either side, the first thought that I had was, "this was a mistake". Looking at the conditions and skiing in the rest of the video, I think was right. That looked like some very rough, difficult terrain. Thank God you had a guide with you to help you get down that mountain.
Great video, and I guess the fact that you posted it means you survived that run! LOL!!!

I don't know what your talking about man, the traverse over to the big and the snowfield is always like that because it's wind blown and side skidded off, but the snowfield was in fine condition, for sure reccomend a guide either way if it's your first time down the snowfield since it definately takes some route finding into summit direct or anything on the gum wall, overall though it's not like these were amazing conditions, but more no means horrible, or a wrong decision like you said.

Did you need a beacon and avalanche gear to access this part of the mountain?

You dont show Getting to the bottom . The really bad stuff is up ahead if i remember correctly. Go the wrong way and you can go off a death cliff.

Isn’t there any powder at this place? Every video shows crappy snow!

Say what windblown powder is some of the best conditions And looks like it hasn't snowed in quite a while make the best of the conditions you have

Big Sky seems to miss the major snowbelt and gets pretty slim some years. Where just a lower latitude below them Grand Targhee and Jackson get very big snow years almost every year. This year is a perfect example.

From his other videos, it appears that this was from April of 2016. By April the conditions aren’t as good for obvious reasons and this year we didn’t get great snow in general, but I’ve been skiing Big Sky for over 20 years and I promise the snow doesn’t always look like this! 😅

He skied it fine, it's not like there's a fresh 10 inches of pow on top or anything, for those conditions I was plenty impressed with the skiing

yeah, you can't just ski straight down you have to be careful; one wrong move can send you to your death.
