Paint The Town Pink - Call to Action
Join Us In Raising Breast Cancer Awareness
For the entire month of October, we are raising awareness and showing our collective love and support for those actively fighting breast cancer by "Painting The Town Pink." Together, we will ensure that no one feels like they need to fight alone, showing that our community cares deeply. This initiative is inspired by Brandi's personal experience with breast cancer and seeks to involve as many community members and businesses as possible.
Key Events:
October 1st at 4PM: Flag raising in Harmony Square Brantford and illuminating City Hall in pink.
Throughout October: Community participation in various ways, including writing messages with pink chalk, displaying pink ribbons or pink lights, wearing pink, and many other activities!
Brandi's Story:
Brandi has a deep personal connection to this cause. After her aunt and grandmother passed away from cancer and her mother survived breast cancer, Brandi herself found a lump in June and was diagnosed in August. She decided to "fight loud," creating "Mission Possible: Turn The City Pink." Brandi walked door-to-door and store-to-store, encouraging participation. Pink ribbons began appearing on streets and in stores, reminding everyone: it takes a village, and no one fights alone.
