Where do you keep the DVR? If someone was going to burglarize the place, all they have to do is find the DVR and take or destroy it correct?
You are correct and I explained in the video some good ideas of where and where not to place the DVR, dont place the DVR in high traffic areas.

What about if I wanted to install the system to a tv in the living room, is that a good idea, the reason is my internet connection is located there.

That law only work in public areas or when you pay for private services.. like rent limo. If the car had a window division it work ,, but that law doesn’t work in taxi, Uber or private house..
Try pointing that camera at your neighbors backyard or get caught eavesdropping using audio recording to listen in on your neighbors conversations and then you could try convincing yourself they don't work in private places when your sitting in your jail cell
Javier, I am looking to purchase the: (FireKingdom 5pack 42cm CCTV Security Camera Inline Mini Microphone with RCA Output Cable Microphone Cables) on Amazon. I know that this is an indoor microphone but I wanted to test it out by connecting each microphone next to 5 separate cameras which are away from the rain, fog, or wind . My Lorex: LHV2116 has only 1 microphone input. I was hoping that I could purchase a 5 channel manual splitter in which I could select which sound recording I want for a given day. Is there one available? Or, have you or anyone else tried this? Thanks Reg.

i am just putting my system together. I have a female dc1 cctv i didn't install yet. i have wifi so i didn't get a vga cable. i did get yellow and red cables but don't they have to be hooked up to the cameras? I think they are for audio which i need for a tenant dispute. She is totally lying saying i am hearing things.

The instruction manual will tell you which app to download and how to set up the DVR for remote viewing.

I was thinking about one for a few months when my car got vandalized. I got one set up right after but but it did me no good on that prior incident since it already happened. The goofs that messed up my car got away clean.

Earlier I was having old TV being used for CCTV camera live video in which RS32 port was connected coming from camera setup box. Now I purchased a new TV (not android) but it is not having RS32 input port. It has HDMI port so I used a RS32 to HDMI converter cable but it is not connecting.
Please give suggestions. Which device I need to purchase. If you share link I will be thankful.
I really needed to see this video, a client wants me to install a surveillance system in his office and I'm a computer engineer, not audio or video technician, but it looks pretty easy and almost the same thing as a network installation. are there water proof ip cameras? he wants a couple of them out of his building. +Lt. Albert thanks Albert and your English seems fine to me. The setup is very straightforward, and yes the ip cameras are just like a network install. I don't know about waterproof surveillance cameras but many are outdoor rated and can withstand weather like ice snow and rain making them water resistant. All the cameras I've setup are outdoor cameras so they can withstand the elements even though I installed all of them indoors. But I'll be installing some outdoors soon
+Lt. Albert also forgot to mention that the ip cameras install just like a network system if they have PoE. If they don't, you'll have to run an additional power cable with each camera.

This not wise. Be wise as a Serpent. Many homes Security cams have been getting hacked. There has been,before & after this video was posted,many Warnings that to use the wifi cams is to RISK (RISK:HIGH) hacker(s) accessing these,and is not difficult for them. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Just stay away from Lorex wifi systems. So difficult and frustrating to install. Tech support is from the Philipines and don't have the language skills or knowledge to assist.

This was great, I have been researching "best surveillance system for home use" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Conrayden Surveillance Equalizer - (just google it ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my work buddy got excellent results with it.

I am using this video to help my dad with his camera set up issues. He has everything set up physically, installing the cameras and box, now it is just setting up the programs to start recording, to save it all in an account and send to the phone via app. How is this all done? Would be nice to have visuals of that process. This video still helps with the basics, but I need details.

If you have a means to connect directly for use as a monitor, yes. If not, only remote viewing via the bundled software

If it's good product, then it's because of the brand. When it's crappy product, then it's crappy Chinese products.
Doesn't matter that in many of these instances, both the manufacturers and importers are non-Chinese companies and both the factories are in China.

thanks but there's nothing racist about my comments, I was saying that it's better to buy the hard drive separately so you know that it's a quality drive. If you buy a dvr with hard drive already installed, you don't know what's in it, and most likely its a cheap hd.
