Many of the players are retirees from pro clubs and National teams. (The US Women had Heather O’Reilly, Aly Kreiger, Aly Long, etc.) Some of them are sponsored by their former clubs, and some retired stars made their own teams (Team Aguero, Team Nani, etc.)
A year after going viral for all the wrong reasons with that Wrexham game, this is sweet, sweet revenge served ice-cold. Congrats to the US Women! Deserving champs and deserving of the million bucks! EDIT: Stay pressed, sexists.
Just out of curiosity what is the revenge ? They've won the womens bracket as they should seeing as how good they are compared to every other womans team...
I'm so confused what im watching. Did this match take place this year? Is that the full active NCC roster? A pro soccer team couldn't beat retired washed players in their 40s? Was this a fixed showmatch? What am I watching?
You want to grow the game but the live matches are behind a paywall? Such a bad move. And the editing of RUclips videos has been awful. Get a better media team.
Not all of them were. Just the games with bigger names and the games of consequence. I hear you. But as someone who can't afford all of the subscription services to watch footie, I've become accustomed to RUclips highlights after the fact.
@@joga131 Nah. Some of them say "not available in your area." It was always the games that had teams with big names. That said, the highlights were made available on RUclips super fast after the conclusion of the match.
I think it's a bit insulting to have the payouts be the same when the conditions aren't equal for both genders. The men's champion had to be the best out of 48 teams, while the women's champion only had to be the best out of 8 teams. The men had to play 8 games in total to win it all, while the women only had to play 5 games. Doesn't really seem very fair to pay both winners the $1 million prize...
I’m pretty sure this is the first time women have even had a tournament. The fact that they are able to get such a huge payout speaks to the integrity and equality of what they are trying to do with this tournament. I’m sure next year the women’s bracket will be larger and the payout will be justified. Also you not playing so why tf do you care about the payout. Stfu and get some bitches instead of counting pockets. Sound dumbs asf

nm i looked it up, this is some random team of semi pro players using the name, and it's a weird 7v7 game with different rules.
