I viewed this by mistake but liked it. Now I have to think about how I can use the techniques in other ways. I liked the ways to shape geometry and rotate/copying it where it is needed.
Hello Sketchup! I love your vidéos. I have a request for live modeling; what if we could see more life situations instead of more robots and Lego. Renovation of a front house, adding a pool in the backyard starting with real photos, the use of sketchup to design a public event in a public parc, etc. So we would relaté to it and in the real life we would have the reflexe to say, 'Yes let's use sketchup for this project!'
This is so timely as I am trying to create a similar model but mine is not round. How do I make this work on an ellipse at the base and I want to transition smoothly to a rounded rectangle on the top surface with a rounded edge not sloped. And I'm working with small stuff, the ellipse is 36x45mm and the top surface is 10mm above.
I am doing this on ipad, and I’m determined to do it the skill building way. I am driving the struggle bus when it comes to the rotate tool. I absolutely cannot get this to rotate the way you do and I’m sure that it’s my lack of understanding when it comes to how the rotate tool works.
Love the video! A very cool skill builder. So I tried pulling up the center and the sides didn't come up. It was like it wasn't connected??? Did I miss something?
@@SketchUp I (probably) made the same mistake at first: it's not the push/pull, it's the move tool. Move will influence connected areas. Up Arrow key makes sure you go straight up.
Dang...it took me two tries but I finally got it. It made me realize I under utilize the rotate tool. Keep the native tool tutorials coming!
love this because you always use the native tool, bravo!

Resetting the 'center' is going to change everything. I had no idea that was possible! Thanks!!

Excellent tutorial.
Wow, that was amazing. You make it look so simple. Thanks Aaron.
Very cool! One of the coolest so far. Luvd it.
Super clever!! Thank you
Cool bottle cap, love the symmetry that you created
I can't figure out what your doing with the rotate tool no matter how many times I try...
That was way too advanced for me any early more basic tutorials for the sketch up /i pad pro ?
Thanks,lot of tricks to learn
awesome you. thanks for video.
Thanks for the video.
Great.

Excellent stuff Aaron. I learnt some good techniques there. I particularly liked the 'Columbo' moment near the end....just one more thing.
We were wondering if anyone would stick around for the "post-credit" scene!
awesome 3D tutorial
well done
i really love it ^_^

On iPad I prefer using rotate with click-move-click rather than just draw mode
It was my comment and I'm happy that you made a video out of it even if you prove me wrong,
Thanks Aaron
Muy buen video, instructivo y didáctico

Good job

Did you tap the Up Arrow key?
