Gilmore's progress is simply stunning. It's really fascinating to me as a life long Floyd nut that he got into the delay- type effects in the late 70s. Division Bell has a few great songs with the effect. Long live The Pink Floyd. Well done cover
I love all your videos you actually sound like David Gilmour! You capture the texture and quality of his playing he is also my favorite guitarist too. I’ve had the honor of meeting David and telling him thank you for his awesome talent and he’s the reason I’m a guitar player. I deeply appreciate your talent and knowledge of his gear you got my respect bro.
My jaw always drops at the majesty of this riff and its context. The tension and the emotion that rises with the note choice and delay effect are captivating.
Love this... Once again Bjorn, you have done an outstanding job. Hope we get one for "Yet Another Movie"/"Round and Around" and "One Slip" one day. Cheers mate :)
Roger breathed a fire under Dave to get this down. The original demo was just a simple rhythm with no riffs, deemed not good enough for Gilmour’a solo record. Roger ran off with the demo, turned it into a cohesive song, gave DG some homework to create these incredible riffs and Presto... Great job Sir
Superb. I learned a lot about rhythmic delay settings from Pink Floyd. I never set the delay arbitrarily, ever since! Either the delay has a musical purpose, or it's off! BTW, what do you think of the Roger Waters live version as seen in the "Live in San Francisco" fan film? You have to hear (and see) it to believe it! He transposed it from D to C (which means heavier string gauges and "Drop-C" tuning), and though I rarely like hearing a song in a lower key, his version is the ultimate exception. It's extended, and synchronized with amazing visuals. For best results, find the song before it ("In the Flesh", without "?") and enjoy the transition! (Hell, for _best_ results, watch the whole show!)
Great sound but I think the wet signal should be a bit high. David plays a lot of delay on this song. Electric mistress can give you a nice tone as well.. :-)
Wayne Morgan I've dropped the E to a D, which is what David does on the song as well. I'm using the drop a lot in this clip as he did on the early 1979 demo versions.
Thanks for commenting gilmourish riis - your playing is awesome! I knew about dropping E to D. Jimmy Page did the same on "Kashmir" I think. Love your Tele :) I used to own a 1957 Telecaster - white with a black pick guard and maple fretboard. Sounded amazing thru an old Vox AC30 valve amp. Keep up the great work dude - you have a new fan :)
Wish someone would do the 2 guitar part, its what makes the song. You can hear it clearly in the part where they are singing "run, run, run" its 5 notes over each of the 3 chords F, A and D gives it a real disco'y sound of the early 80's.
Never heard such a great tone . This is an absolute masterpiece !
Thanks!
You need a tele my friend :)

Wayne Morgan I've dropped the E to a D, which is what David does on the song as well. I'm using the drop a lot in this clip as he did on the early 1979 demo versions.

Wayne Morgan nah page actually used a tuning called "dadgad" which is what the strings are tuned to
bravissimo !!!!!!

id be interested in hearing mono vs stereo vs wet/dry comparisons to see how the effects sound. if you have 2 amps.
awesome.
Thanks!
Clean bro
