Mystic knight could definitely be in the game. My current theory is that there are two types of hybrid vocations now, one type that uses the basic vocations to mix (such as archer and mage which give MA) and one type that uses advanced vocations to mix. I believe that spearhand isn’t the hybrid of fighter and mage but it is instead the hybrid of warrior and sorcerer. It has no healing spells that have been shown or hinted at(which they would have mentioned because they made sure to point out the supportive spells in magic archer) and it two hands it’s weapon plus it has no shield. They’ve already shown that they have made some massive changes to the previous game mechanics such as thousand kisses being a core skill now. They could very easily have expanded what they use to make hybrid vocations. So I say we wait until either they confirm MK isn’t in the game or we get the game and see for ourselves. MK could very well be the hybrid of fighter and mage.
@@azidal3755 Same, that’s why I don’t believe they wouldn’t bring MK back. It was popular but it also fills the role of magical frontline/tank. Spear hand doesn’t fill that role whatsoever.
My bet is that the advanced version of thief will prolly look alot like the Seeker from DDO, but perhaps with different primary weapons as thief's got the dual blades now. Bit sad that mystic knight isnt a thing anymore, its a really cool class
It’s not confirmed that mystic knight isn’t in the game. Spear hand doesn’t replace a paladin. They can easily add a mage fighter class that uses a shield or even use advanced vocations to make hybrids out of. I feel like spear hand is a hybrid of sorcerer and warrior because it doesn’t have healing spells and it two hands it’s weapon.
Tbh I'll miss MK, the ripostes were some of my favorite mechanics, maybe they'll become an augment for fighter for when you perfect block with an enchanted shield. I wouldn't be surprised if thief/mage is essentially High Scepter. A magical melee weapon, kind of like the magick bow.
They seem to be going for more specialised vocations, which makes it more like Monster Hunter and less like original Dragon's Dogma, but I like, there is now way more incentive to try different vocations except for skills.
Hopefully the make up for more weapon specialization with more skills. In other words, I should be able to play a class multiple ways, closer to an RPG.
@@dinosaurkin5093enchanted boots and gauntlets friend. realistically it doesn't really make sense to fight and enormous monster with daggers or handheld weapons in general, if we were being realistic you'd have to be carting around a trebuchet or some other massive weapon but it's a videogame, it doesn't have to make perfect sense.
Well, in the presentation they did say there'll be blighted arrows, so starus arrows will be back. I like the changes they've made without compromising DD's core mechanics. Let's hope that hybrid clases can equip two weapons at the same time like in the olden days.
I feel like Spearhand is more likely a Thief-Magic hybrid, not a Fighter-Magic hybrid. Mystic Knight, or at least the Cleric version of it they reduced it to in Online has to exist in the game still, which even then still fits the Fighter-Magic hybrid slot better. Spearhand seems very overtly aggressive and fast, which seems to fit significantly more with what Thief is for now. This is a much more subjective point also, but the spear heads are the same size as daggers - it's a quick, light weapon, not a heavy hammer. I don't see them removing one of the fan favourites entirely for a single player game. Tweaked, maybe, but not removed. Still possible though, considering Magick Archer's daggers and skills wouldn't be represented then, unless Spearhand is the replacement for that playstyle which I also totally see being possible.
It was shown that twoblade user is red/blue vocation, so unless they add multiple hybrid variation or mystic knight was reworked to something else, it's done. I'm also pretty sure that Itsuno said that he wants for each vocation to have its own unique weapon. So that is another nail in the coffin for mystic knight. However, there is no way that they would kill this playstyle. So even if mystic knight is dead, his parry playstyle will absolutely be incorporated to some other vocation. There's no way it wouldn't. All we can do is wait for more information. I agree though, logically, twoblade is absolutely more of a green/blue vocation. That weapon is more dexterity based, so it would make more sense
@@raven75257 I'll be heartbroken if they sink as low as adding Cleric from Online in the game. It's a single player game, like c'mon, just rebalance Mystic Knight. Gimme big shield and hammer.
@@probablyharmless69 Doubt. Adding a vocation that does nothing but supports is a foolish decision in a single player game. It would be nice to have that for your pawns to use, but at the same that would also kill that vocation for 99% of the players, since not that many people enjoy playing support, and I doubt there is anyone who would enjoy playing support for NPCs. Besides, mages were already support oriented in the original, so it wouldn't make sense in that angle. Unless, of course, they turn Priest into something damage oriented. Stuff like Miracles from Dark Souls come to mind
Thanks for being as devoted as ever. Was wondering if you have ever streamed on Twitch? When the game comes out, I would love to see you play it live. Just a thought. ✌️❤️
good video. this is the kind of information i want ahead of launch, getting a good understanding of possible vocations and the like. i’m sure as more information is released you’ll continue with the informative videos as per usual. see ya next time.
Still probably the most interested in seeing what classes are gonna branch off from green and yellow. I know; if I had the choice: green would've been the split of Sage and Sorcerer. One of my biggest pet peeves was how much of Mage and Sorcerer was a choice between support and nuking; but then the Sorcerer was the only one with a personification curing spell. Yeah, I think Strider staying our yellow option, and Mage being split into Priest and Sorcerer like DDO would've felt better. Plus; it could've let us have Mystic Knight be more of a Paladin (Red/Green?).
Mage thief will probably look something like the alchemist from DDO with some similarities to old Mystic Archer. Hoping advanced thief or thief fighter is full on Attack on Titan seeker. Assuming we'll see ranger back as an upgrade to archer, and maybe strider as the combo of thief and archer. Hoping some of the mixed vocations are available to Pawns this time around.
I'm the most interested to see the Fighter/Archer hybrid. Always wanted to see crossbows implemented into DG and I think it may be a possibility with this. Since shortbows are used by Archers and Longbows are used by Rangers. I think it would be awesome to have a class that wields a shortsword (or some sort of middle-ground between longsword and daggers) in one hand, but has the ability to pull out a one-handed crossbow in the other hand mid-combat without having to put their main weapon away. Adding to their versatility.
I cant see them getting rid of Mystic knight at all it was way too popular and unique. There could be loads of vocations not just a set number of like 10.
Arekks gaming all skills video shows the vocations menu and with it he scrolls over every current vocation available fighter archer mage thief warrior and sorcerer. You also see their weapons and fighter has the mace along with sword and shield. Mystic knight is no more. I find it interesting that the advanced vocations for thief and Archer were not available!
Agreed, I think they’ve changed the vocation system in that they are also using advanced vocations to make hybrid vocations. I don’t believe that spear hand is the hybrid of fighter and mage but it is instead the hybrid of sorcerer and warrior.
@DANCERcow they could have just only given a beta version of the game though right? Or even release more over time. The mace and Tower shield was a great combo no need to change it but hey ho not the end of the world I'm sure ill find a new fav class haha
I saw another video where they mention there only being 9 vocations. Though Idk why they would keep the whole color scheme if they were going to ignore it and only do 9. They show some proof with a picture with only 9 heroes each representing weapons which we have seen in the trailers. So it would make perfect sense considering only 9 weapons/classes have been shown so far and they happen to be the 9 that the in-game artwork of the heroes have.
I find the sentiment in the community that mystic knight is gone to be so strange when there is barely any proof to support the idea beyond same colors being shared by mystic spearhand. People are acting like the vocations couldn't easily cohabitate with how starkly different they'd be from each other and that nine is some hard stop number in a franchise with a single release. Beside Online forgot that existed.
Hi bro, would you like to talk about the new trailer and new vocation in your new videos? Since there are so much new information and we all are so expecting how you see it:)
I hope the spear hand has a spear weapon and not only twinblade, to make up for the loss of our baby mystic knight T.T We did see an encense weapon in past previews, and some people pointed at the gameplay demo showcased with artwork on the side : artworks of the same class with multiple weapons shown on it. Maybe some classes won't happen but others could have multiple weapons. Like mystic knight had staff or sword/shield, they could make some classes have different weapons to make up for the loss of some classes.
the one with the incense is priest... the second advanced vocation for mage from DDO of course a priest would have incense as their weapon (even though it still used staff in DDO) they most likely did this because support characters didn't have an advanced vocation... so if you wanted to have a support pawn it had to be a mage... so this time around they are bringing priest from DDO and giving mage 2 advanced vocations so that both of mages roles (support and damage) can shine thru in their own advanced vocation.
I feel like Itsuno wants to really surprise us. Probably there’s more vocations than we might originally suspect, probably more so than DD1 and DDON combined especially with some dev team members from DDON on board, we just have to wait and see🙏
I personally don't think they'll necessarily follow the same formula as in the original with regards to vocations(three basic, three advanced and three hybrids of the two). I'm willing to bet there will be some surprise vocations that have very little in common with the four basics we've been shown so far. while I ultimately would have preferred all the classes to stay more or less the same with a few tweaks here and there, I'm willing to embrace some things being completely different as long as they're fun and feel as satisfying as all the vocations from the original did.
Gotta agree. We even saw a different magic class that uses an incense censer to cast spells. That definitely indicates that we'll at least have multiple classes within those archetypes outside of the ones we had in the first game. (Possibly some more hybrids using the new classes?)
there's also Incense class, which seem unlikely as Green-Blue, there's still possibility there will be 8 Advance Class that avalaible for Pawn and Arisen. 2 Red (????, Warrior) 2 Blue (Sorcerer, Incense), 2 Yellow, 2 Green, while 6 Vocations available as Arisen only
Levin's description made me think that we might not get advanced versions of some skills, at least. You can keep pressing the button to add more strikes to the attack (costing extra stamina), and from the footage shown alongside it, you can summon a lot more lighting strikes this time around.
That may be a way to fix the problem of sorcerer pawns almost never casting a spell because they only cast the "high/grand" versions of their spells and you can't give them the basic version back once you upgrade them
So far I have only seen 4 skill equipable at once. Although the L1 button says is for switching weapon skills. If you hold R1 there is a skill assigned to each button. Im hoping by pressing L1 you can switch to 4 more skills, and if you press one more time 4 more making 12. I really enjoyed the skills from DDDA but it wasnt enough with the amount I could equip.
Aren't Mystic Archer and Mystic Spearhand already hybrid vocations and not advanced ones like Warrior or Ranger? Also the advanced vocation for Archer is definitely gonna be Ranger, and the advanced vocation for Thief is going to be Assassin, just like how it was in DD1.
How about : 4 basics, 8 advanceds and 6 hybrids (= 18 vocations). To improve one aspect of the basic vocation. > Fighter (sword/shield) : - Warrior with big sword for more damage - Knight (not mystic anymore) with big shield to protect allies > Archer (bow) : - Ranger with long bow to aim far - Hunter/druid ? (not sure for this one) > Mage (staff) : - Sorcerer for magic damage - Priest for support/healing > Thief (daggers) : - Assassin (only with daggers) for stealth - Monk (bare-hand) for speed > And 6 hybrids : - Fighter/Archer (???) - Fighter/Mage (mystic spearhand) - Fighter/Thief (???) - Archer/Mage (magick archer) - Archer/Thief (???) - Mage/Thief (???) I want more choices for the pawns and they can't use hybrids vocations.
Nice video Nihil. I was relieved to see sorcerer is still in the game. I like the pinned comment that suggested MK could still appear in this sequel. My concern with all the vocations is the developers boosted less polished vocations from the original game like Mage and Warrior at the expense of the more popular ones. So even if MK is still available will it be as fun to play? There’s so much gameplay available for Dogma 2 right now that we may not have to wait until next year to find out. Fingers crossed 🤞
I don’t mind having to wait for vocations if there is a way to change stats. I know it’s not really in the spirit of dragons dogma but it would be nice for super endgame to fix up stats somehow.
I hope assassin is part fighter. I really enjoyed sword and bow assassin, it felt like the most well mixed class without relying on a hybrid specific weapon.
I just want Seeker and Alchemist from Dragon's Dogma Online. Maybe Seeker will be the advanced Thief, and Alchemist will be the Thief/Mage hybrid? It's the only combo that would make any sense to me.
Really hope that the order the augments are listed is indicative of the order you get them. Would love to be able to pick up the strength/magic boosts without having to fully max out the respective vocations. All respect to Sorcerer mains, I just didn't like having to max out sorcerer on my Mystic Knight/Magick Archer runs. Seems like there's only two damage augments instead of four so far.
I hope Strider becomes at least a hybrid class. I think they split it, cuz the strider pawns were too busted. It's still dumb, cuz daggers w/o bow and vice versa feels really lackluster cuz they lack the respective ranged/melee option.
i believe thief has a hybrid with fighter and archer mage has a hybrid with archer and fighter im thinking the thief hybrid with archer is gonna be strider equivalent, bow and daggers and then a dual wielding sword/axe hybrid with the fighter or a great shield class kinda like mystic knight but without magic. I personally dont think thief is gonna have a magic hybrid
I think we can definitely expect at least 2 more advanced vocations. One for Yellow and one for Green. It would be very odd for Red and Blue to have them (Warrior, Sorcerer respectively) and not them. As for the hybrids, that's a more complicated matter. Itsuno recently said in an interview to a question about the amount of vocations that they are "focused on the quality of available vocations rather than the quantity", so we shouldn't set our count too highly to manage our expectations. Far as I see it, there are a few distinct possibilities: 1. First possibility: All the hybrids are only a combination of a base color, with blue/magic. That means just three hybrids, like in the original ("quality" over "quantity) with Spearhand, Magick Archer and one for Thief replacing the Assassin combo since vocations (except for Fighter's shield) don't seem to use two weapons anymore. The total vocation count would still be higher than the original by a few, eleven, but lower than most other people here might think or expect, especially those coming from DDON. 2. The "complete" chart shown in this video and pointed out by others. That being full color combos giving us a total of 6 hybrids and a whopping 14 vocations in total (same count as the weapon types in recent Monster Hunter titles curiously enough...). Obviously I hope this one is the case but Itsuno's comment has tempered my expectations just a tiny bit. If we go this route though, I doubt we will get any new vocations for any DLC/expansions once again and instead (like Monster Hunter expansions) just get new moves for each at most. 3. This possibility is just the first, with the hopes that the full suite like the second get added in a future expansion :P
The fight + fighter its warrior, the mage plus mage its sorceror, the thief plus thief will probably be assassin, and the archer plus archer the ranger. Thief plus warrior some kind of duelist with rapiers or some kind of agile fighter, archer plus thief scout, thief plus mage spearhand. Fighter plus mage mistic knight.
curious what the other green vocation will be. ii actually doubt strider like in DDON will be in this, because that would be a direct upgrade from thief. Vocation in DD never about advanced >> basic . basic vocation can still hold their own just fine in original game. so a direct upgrade thats superior in all areas within the same type wont make sense
The best thing Capcom can do minimum, is doing for release 27 Classes, not all from begin on accessible, from begin on accessible will be only everythign thats coming from Fighter, Thief, Archer n Mage, because logically speaking, the Game will have for sure at least 2 more Base Classes, as the game says it self, that you will unlock more as you progress in the game and Trickster ist definetely a Hybrid Class, which is why it is Arisen Only useable, pluss it has two Colors that were never used before, neither in DD1, nor DDO - Purple n Indigo, which just have to be Base Classes, with that you can get then to initial 27 Classes, while more are coming then later with DLC, so that every Color Combination in both ways can exist this time and to provide this time absolutely every thinkable classic Class you can think of for everyone#s tastes to discover, that way has Capcom great potential new content for the future, that is optional, and doesnt feel like a must have, while giving players new ways to play the game. ANd with a nice Add On like similar to Dark Arisen, they can add on top of it then even final third tier classes, Master Classes so to say for more Character Progression Fighter + Warrior + (Berserker) - Red Archer + Ranger + (Tamer) - Yellow Mage + Sorcerer + (Summoner) - Blue Thief + Rogue + (Assassin) - Green Defender + Guardian (+ Paladin) - Purple Merchant + Craftsman (+ Blacksmith) - Indigo Optimal 6 Base Classes. The Defender Path to Paladin is then practically the way to go, to get your old classic Mystic Knight back that fights with big Tower Shields and light based magic/skills, because thats what mystic Knights essentially were in DD1, they were effectively just Paladins.
I think it'd be weird for them not to have mystic knight in there, considering it seems like a lot of the original iconic classes, hybrid and advanced, are already there, including magick archer. It might be a weird combination though. Spearhand doesn't seem to use a shield, so I think it's quite likely it could even be warrior/mage rather than fighter/mage. I think there is a strong chance some advanced vocations will get mixed in. It mostly just depends on how much depth the devs want as compared to the mmo which was lousy with cool classes (quietly hoping for alchemist, thief+mage maybe?). Could also be spearhand *is* mystic knight - and your class archetype name can change based on your weapon loadout, since several classes in the original game had multiple equippable weapons. since some advanced/hybrids are unlocked in the demo and some not, maybe unlocking them requires progressing their base classes now, if that's not just a change done for demo purposes.
Does the 'stasis' augmentation imply equipment durability? I don't remeber that from the first game. Given the lack of commentary on it, i assume it either was in DD1 or we're not prepared to speculate.
My assumption is that ranger will be the advanced for archer and maybe a rogue with dualswords or some other weapon will be the advanced for thief Advanced vocations are heavy hitters that lack defense, mobility or support for more damage, so advanced green will likely lack the manoeuvrability at the cost of having higher attack speed or just better damage with their rapid flurry of attacks And for the Mystic Thief ive been presuming its going to be the incense vocation, or i did, but the more i keep thinking on it the more it's bothered me, because the incense vocation seems like its more of a magick focused vocation, not a hybrid with a dexterity vocation It doesn't look like it can move fast or climb and climbing seems to be what green vocations would excel at So i had a theory that perhaps there aren't 14 vocations but 18? Basic vocations are capable of good damage with some form of defense, rapid movement, dodging or support Advanced vocations focus on heavy damage So im wondering if theres a new vocation group altogether, one that lacks a little less damage or doesn't deal as much damage at the cost of being good at defense, rapid movement, dodging or *support* I don't know what else could fit in those categories, but incense definitely fits as a major support vocations with probably AoE damage and DoT effects along with buffs, heals and support spells Otherwise, I'm not sure where it could really fit, unless sorcerer wields it?
Im think about that too, they might give 2 specialization advance this time: Red- Damage (Warrior), Tank (????), Blue - Damage (Sorc), Support (Incense) Yellow - Damage, Support Green - Damage, Support
This is completely unrelated 😂but in Dragon's Dogma, after you defeat post game damion, does the difficulty continue to increase or stay the same ??im on ng
I don't think there are hybrid vocations. They called Mystic Spearhand and Magick Archer "advanced" vocations, when it clearly they're hybrids. This means you shouldn't expect a hybrid for every combination. And to expect advanced vocations that aren't like any base class at all.
Here's my guesses . Red and green , duelist Green and yellow , assassin Green and blue spear guy Red and blue mistic knight Blue and yellow mistic archer Red and yellow ? Not sure .. maybe hunter something like the assassin version with the sword 😅
If Mystic spearhand is just gonna be High Scepter and Spirit Lancer (both from DDON) mashed together I'll be so fucking disappointed. From what I've seen, it looks like they did exactly did which just....no, why, why not incooperate High Scepter into ddo2. It was literally perfect, the most fun I've ever had playing any class in any video game. Them also not including Mystic Knight is also disappointing, I loved that vocation in the original.
I do hope they rework the armor/damage reduction system. The fact that it went by flat amounts instead of calculating a percentage based dmg reduction based on your armor value was just... weird
Maybe but they did hold onto for a very long time? I think it might be a weapon and specifically now that we are speculating hybrid advanced vocations, it might be
I can see the incense burner being part of the green/blue vocation. It could be a Spirit Monk that combines aspects of Mystic Knight, Magick Archer, and the DDO Alchemist. This class would focus on buffing themselves and their allies with magic incense, and fighting with their augmented fists.
2nd Blue Advance, seems unlikely as Green-Blue, which from 1st trailer we see it like supporting class that can create temporary objects. that vocation might had old MK Skills like Magic Cannon, Sygils etc
i hope they change how stat increases work is there anything known yet? i cant help but min/max, its compulsive i cant just play what i want cause in the back of my head i know im doing something not-omptimally and it bothers me i know thats a me problem and that its retarded but thats just how my brain works on the one hand i like that i can personalize my character by choosing to level in a certain way but in the other hand its unenjoyable and just backwards to play basically everything but what you actually want to play at max level one could argue the game is finished by the time you get there so what is even the point just let me allocate the stats freely 😂😂 or let me remove levels and redo them with a different class or something
this logic is already sorta broken... at least when it comes to mage... because mage will have 2 advanced vocations (priest and sorcerer) they are apparently bringing priest from DDO as a support focused mage with sorc being the damage dealer mage and mage itself being half support half damage... you can actually see priest for a brief moment in one of the trailers making a bridge of light but it quickly cuts away.
I can't see priest in there except as a replacement for mage, which has been ruled out. It could be a hybrid, though. A hybrid with both support and attack abilities.
@@Wyvernil priest does have attack abilities though... even in DDO it used holy magic to attack... its being reworked a bit here (because in DDO it basically was the mage class as there was no mage class in DDO) in DD 2 it is transitioning into a proper class... and an advanced class not a starter class like DDO essentially it will use abilities similar to the holy attacks with enchanted holy staff and such... while using support spells to help the team... you know the OP holy staff abilities from the first DD... but now they are priest abilities.
@@DANCERcow if you saw official website it has same Icon as Hybrid one from 1st game and labeled it "as Arisen only vocation", Warrior and Sorc also advance in this game since they had same frame as Mystic Spearhand and Magick Archer but Warrior and Sorc available for both arisen and pawn, so there might be more Advance Arisen Only Vocation which was same as Hybrid from the first game.
I really think there are only going to be 8 vocations now. 4 base vocations fighter, thief, archer, mage and then 4 more that are a combination and weve already seen the magic archer which is range and mage and the spearhand which is mage and fighter so we are probably just missing the fighter thief combo and the thief ranger combo which most likely be similar to original strider
I thought this for a moment but we also see Warrior and Sorcerer in the roster which gives us 2 reds and 2 blues. So there should be 2 yellows and 2 greens
@@Nihil0.0 yep yep i commented before watching. So probably either 12 or 16 different vocations. Wild stuff glad we are getting some materials every once in a while to reward our patience and build some hype for new player of the series.

BTW Yellow-Green definitely sounds like an Assassin. And Advanced yellow is a Ranger as we could already see before. Now, the advanced blue is a long staff user, advanced red is a longsword user, and advanced yellow is a longbow user. What will the advanced green use? Bigger knife?
I still think we can see Mystic Knight. I personally believe Mystic SpearHand is Blue/Green not Blue/Red as the spear is double ended, the only double “weapon” wielding class is the Thief. Yes the shield for fighter can be used as a weapon but it’s primary function is defence
@@wolfgangromine8341but it's not fighter/mage blue and red. Its the warriors and sorcs darker colors. Demo has shown the warrior and sorc as well and the colors are the darker shades that makes up mysticS
Good to see that augments still have unpronouncable names. The fact that strider got split into archer and thief means that a vocation can probably have only one weapon, excluding a shield, which makes me wonder how will assassin work?
bruh i just watched a video there is only 1 vocation that they didn't show yet there is no clothing system like in DD1 instead they added a new slot for rings
This game is just not shaping up correctly. There are red flags everywhere. I mean Fighter doesnt get a magic hybrid but every other starting class does? None of this shit makes any sense and I havent enjoyed much of the footage as the hit lag looks weak and animations unfocused.
Interesting how the strider gets shafted here and basically split in two while the fighter and the mage remain intact...Not sure why nobody's talking about that.

i think is because the Strider was an all-rounder, you got the daggers for close combat and bow for long range, Fighters need to get close to the enemy and Mages needed space to have time to cast a spell, except 100% magic enemies Strider was busted
@@sandman1347 We haven’t been given an answer from Capcom but I have a good guess. It’s to be able to have less overlap with weapon skills, allow for hybrid vocations to be more unique and interesting, and I think they want us to focus more on building a proper party to cover our weaknesses of the vocation we choose. Strider was too much of a jack of all trades class and it caused quite a lot of overlap with its skills that definitely made the other vocations not feel like they were very unique. Splitting it into two separate classes allows for them to be more creative and make vocations have more of their own identity.

@@raven75257 4 months later, trickster is support/gimmicks only and still really fun
Watching this makes me want another play through of DD1…looking forward to all your DD2 videos
Going through all those vocations on my first playthrough is going to be an absolute blast!!!!!
Itsuno did an interview on the direction of the game, he said the focus is on "physics" and interactions with npcs/pawns/enemies
I hope the spear hand has a spear weapon and not only twinblade, to make up for the loss of our baby mystic knight T.T
We did see an encense weapon in past previews, and some people pointed at the gameplay demo showcased with artwork on the side : artworks of the same class with multiple weapons shown on it.
Maybe some classes won't happen but others could have multiple weapons. Like mystic knight had staff or sword/shield, they could make some classes have different weapons to make up for the loss of some classes.
the one with the incense is priest... the second advanced vocation for mage from DDO of course a priest would have incense as their weapon (even though it still used staff in DDO)
they most likely did this because support characters didn't have an advanced vocation... so if you wanted to have a support pawn it had to be a mage... so this time around they are bringing priest from DDO and giving mage 2 advanced vocations so that both of mages roles (support and damage) can shine thru in their own advanced vocation.
Bro I am so insanely pumped for this
I feel like Itsuno wants to really surprise us. Probably there’s more vocations than we might originally suspect, probably more so than DD1 and DDON combined especially with some dev team members from DDON on board, we just have to wait and see🙏
there might be more vocations we regularly are used to so im getting excited
2 Red (????, Warrior) 2 Blue (Sorcerer, Incense), 2 Yellow, 2 Green, while 6 Vocations available as Arisen only
this video hasn't been out for very long, but look at how many comments there are already. I love the passion of this community.
Levin's description made me think that we might not get advanced versions of some skills, at least. You can keep pressing the button to add more strikes to the attack (costing extra stamina), and from the footage shown alongside it, you can summon a lot more lighting strikes this time around.
Yeah I think it balances out still and the flow of it seems better in dd2.
That may be a way to fix the problem of sorcerer pawns almost never casting a spell because they only cast the "high/grand" versions of their spells and you can't give them the basic version back once you upgrade them
@@edalvis771 Unless using dinputdll
Maybe fewer augments per class since were likely getting more vocations.
Slimes are in the game, we got slimes; boys!
> Fighter (sword/shield) :
- Warrior with big sword for more damage
- Knight (not mystic anymore) with big shield to protect allies
> Archer (bow) :
- Ranger with long bow to aim far
- Hunter/druid ? (not sure for this one)
> Mage (staff) :
- Sorcerer for magic damage
- Priest for support/healing
> Thief (daggers) :
- Assassin (only with daggers) for stealth
- Monk (bare-hand) for speed
> And 6 hybrids :
- Fighter/Archer (???)
- Fighter/Mage (mystic spearhand)
- Fighter/Thief (???)
- Archer/Mage (magick archer)
- Archer/Thief (???)
- Mage/Thief (???)
I want more choices for the pawns and they can't use hybrids vocations.
Hybrid vocation of archer and thief is probably a strider again 😂
THE WIIIND IS PUUUSHING MEEE!!
There better be a brawler vocation or I will lose my marbles!
I hope assassin is part fighter. I really enjoyed sword and bow assassin, it felt like the most well mixed class without relying on a hybrid specific weapon.
There is specialty arrows they were show cased
A wait i'm missing that flail with fumes of some enchanter kind of stuff
I hope Strider becomes at least a hybrid class. I think they split it, cuz the strider pawns were too busted. It's still dumb, cuz daggers w/o bow and vice versa feels really lackluster cuz they lack the respective ranged/melee option.
Archer plus thief advanced probably
As long as they get rid of class based stat allocation I’m happy.
I Hope Spearhand Warrior 😢
Spear and shield ❤
Love this combine
I am hoping to see an unarmed monk class. Maybe mage-thief hybrid would be suitable.
Do you think we can experience High Scepter in DD2? Cause that looks really sick and cool.
Mystic Speahand might be Also the Thief Sorcerer, and Warrior Sorcerer might still be Mystic Knight
Fighter isn't completely outclassed by 2 other classes. Let's go. Gonna miss assassin though
i believe thief has a hybrid with fighter and archer
mage has a hybrid with archer and fighter
im thinking the thief hybrid with archer is gonna be strider equivalent, bow and daggers and then a dual wielding sword/axe hybrid with the fighter or a great shield class kinda like mystic knight but without magic.
Far as I see it, there are a few distinct possibilities:
Fighter plus mage mistic knight.
can't wait to play the spell-spear build, they better let us get super OP again as well..
curious what the other green vocation will be. ii actually doubt strider like in DDON will be in this, because that would be a direct upgrade from thief. Vocation in DD never about advanced >> basic . basic vocation can still hold their own just fine in original game. so a direct upgrade thats superior in all areas within the same type wont make sense
i hope they add some skills from Dogma Online like healing field shift and stamina recovery spell for mage
Oh yeeees.
Still good content, keep It going
Betting on 9 vocations in total with the censer fellow being the green/blue job
I can't wait to use a spear.
It's definitely not going to happen, but I'm holding out hope that one of the hybrid classes is a monk.
I've still not given up about a "proper" spear/polearm wielding vocation. But it's not looking good.
ANd with a nice Add On like similar to Dark Arisen, they can add on top of it then even final third tier classes, Master Classes so to say for more Character Progression
Fighter + Warrior + (Berserker) - Red
Archer + Ranger + (Tamer) - Yellow
Mage + Sorcerer + (Summoner) - Blue
Thief + Rogue + (Assassin) - Green
Defender + Guardian (+ Paladin) - Purple
Merchant + Craftsman (+ Blacksmith) - Indigo
Optimal 6 Base Classes. The Defender Path to Paladin is then practically the way to go, to get your old classic Mystic Knight back that fights with big Tower Shields and light based magic/skills, because thats what mystic Knights essentially were in DD1, they were effectively just Paladins.
I hope warriors have the same skills available as other vocations, not like dd1
i hope to god there will be a longbow vocation
Pretty sure the archer advanced vocation will be something similar to ranger, unless they introduced crossbows which can be... Interesting
We need a caestus or fist vocation
Thief sorcerer might be the Alchemist from DDO
Spearhand its thief mage bro.
There are so many things in DD1 that just straight up don't work. A few augments come to mind. Let's hope they won't be so sloppy this time
Does the 'stasis' augmentation imply equipment durability? I don't remeber that from the first game. Given the lack of commentary on it, i assume it either was in DD1 or we're not prepared to speculate.
What is that opening line from?
"Amadeus" the movie
My assumption is that ranger will be the advanced for archer and maybe a rogue with dualswords or some other weapon will be the advanced for thief
Advanced vocations are heavy hitters that lack defense, mobility or support for more damage, so advanced green will likely lack the manoeuvrability at the cost of having higher attack speed or just better damage with their rapid flurry of attacks
And for the Mystic Thief ive been presuming its going to be the incense vocation, or i did, but the more i keep thinking on it the more it's bothered me, because the incense vocation seems like its more of a magick focused vocation, not a hybrid with a dexterity vocation
It doesn't look like it can move fast or climb and climbing seems to be what green vocations would excel at
So i had a theory that perhaps there aren't 14 vocations but 18?
Basic vocations are capable of good damage with some form of defense, rapid movement, dodging or support
Advanced vocations focus on heavy damage
So im wondering if theres a new vocation group altogether, one that lacks a little less damage or doesn't deal as much damage at the cost of being good at defense, rapid movement, dodging or *support*
I don't know what else could fit in those categories, but incense definitely fits as a major support vocations with probably AoE damage and DoT effects along with buffs, heals and support spells
Otherwise, I'm not sure where it could really fit, unless sorcerer wields it?
Im think about that too, they might give 2 specialization advance this time:
Red- Damage (Warrior), Tank (????),
Blue - Damage (Sorc), Support (Incense)
Yellow - Damage, Support
Green - Damage, Support
hopefully they'll hook you up early.. tbh, there was a period of YEARS where the only real videos for dd were from you. hope so.
Strider= Archer + Thief.
This is completely unrelated 😂but in Dragon's Dogma, after you defeat post game damion, does the difficulty continue to increase or stay the same ??im on ng
Where are the axes?
I don't think there are hybrid vocations. They called Mystic Spearhand and Magick Archer "advanced" vocations, when it clearly they're hybrids.
This means you shouldn't expect a hybrid for every combination. And to expect advanced vocations that aren't like any base class at all.
Here's my guesses .
Red and green , duelist
Green and yellow , assassin
Green and blue spear guy
Red and blue mistic knight
Blue and yellow mistic archer
Red and yellow ? Not sure .. maybe hunter something like the assassin version with the sword 😅
Maybe advanced green will be alchemist or poisoner
DD2😍
I want a fighter mage that holds a sword and staff like gandalf
If Mystic spearhand is just gonna be High Scepter and Spirit Lancer (both from DDON) mashed together I'll be so fucking disappointed. From what I've seen, it looks like they did exactly did which just....no, why, why not incooperate High Scepter into ddo2. It was literally perfect, the most fun I've ever had playing any class in any video game. Them also not including Mystic Knight is also disappointing, I loved that vocation in the original.
I do hope they rework the armor/damage reduction system. The fact that it went by flat amounts instead of calculating a percentage based dmg reduction based on your armor value was just... weird
So where does the incense vocation come into play here?
I think the incense censor is just going to be an item. Like spell tome
Maybe but they did hold onto for a very long time? I think it might be a weapon and specifically now that we are speculating hybrid advanced vocations, it might be
Green/blue vocation
I can see the incense burner being part of the green/blue vocation. It could be a Spirit Monk that combines aspects of Mystic Knight, Magick Archer, and the DDO Alchemist. This class would focus on buffing themselves and their allies with magic incense, and fighting with their augmented fists.
2nd Blue Advance, seems unlikely as Green-Blue, which from 1st trailer we see it like supporting class that can create temporary objects. that vocation might had old MK Skills like Magic Cannon, Sygils etc
How do you know Mystic Spearhand will be red blue? To me it fits more green blue. Its fast and agile with dual bladed spear, dexterous.
Exactly.
i hope they change how stat increases work
is there anything known yet?
i cant help but min/max, its compulsive
i cant just play what i want cause in the back of my head i know im doing something not-omptimally and it bothers me
i know thats a me problem and that its retarded but thats just how my brain works
on the one hand i like that i can personalize my character by choosing to level in a certain way
but in the other hand its unenjoyable and just backwards to play basically everything but what you actually want to play at max level
one could argue the game is finished by the time you get there
so what is even the point
just let me allocate the stats freely 😂😂
or let me remove levels and redo them with a different class or something
this logic is already sorta broken... at least when it comes to mage... because mage will have 2 advanced vocations (priest and sorcerer) they are apparently bringing priest from DDO as a support focused mage with sorc being the damage dealer mage and mage itself being half support half damage...
you can actually see priest for a brief moment in one of the trailers making a bridge of light but it quickly cuts away.
I can't see priest in there except as a replacement for mage, which has been ruled out. It could be a hybrid, though. A hybrid with both support and attack abilities.
@@Wyvernil priest does have attack abilities though... even in DDO it used holy magic to attack... its being reworked a bit here (because in DDO it basically was the mage class as there was no mage class in DDO) in DD 2 it is transitioning into a proper class... and an advanced class not a starter class like DDO
essentially it will use abilities similar to the holy attacks with enchanted holy staff and such... while using support spells to help the team... you know the OP holy staff abilities from the first DD... but now they are priest abilities.
they might named the Incense Vocation as Bishop or Cleric since they already used Priest as Mage replacement in DDO
@@Avanael yeah just like how they renamed the reworked spirit lancer into magic spearhand (personally spirit lancer was a cooler name)
Still wondering why they would remove one of the most popular classes from the last game. At least the new blue/red hybrid looks fun...
Hybrids might actually be gone
@@DANCERcowat least two hybrids are present, so I doubt that
During the presentation they were presented as advanced vocations!
Summoner Vocation, please Itsuno. Make it play like V
Worrior only 100%
I really think there are only going to be 8 vocations now.
5:02 It's not Adhesion, it's ...whatever you'd like to name Strider's pasive and bonus from Gloves of Might.
Adhesion is about preventing Stagger while climbing (stagger is not even in DD2 btw).
@@zadymek01right, I know. It's difficult to predict. I was thinking the same. Maybe advanced green is dual swords? Axes? It's fun to think about
I still think we can see Mystic Knight. I personally believe Mystic SpearHand is Blue/Green not Blue/Red as the spear is double ended, the only double “weapon” wielding class is the Thief. Yes the shield for fighter can be used as a weapon but it’s primary function is defence
Unfortunately the icon for Mystic Spearhand is already revealed and it's definitely Red/Blue, there's no mistaking it.
@@wolfgangromine8341but it's not fighter/mage blue and red. Its the warriors and sorcs darker colors.
Demo has shown the warrior and sorc as well and the colors are the darker shades that makes up mysticS
Also the fact that mace is now a fighter weapon.
Good to see that augments still have unpronouncable names.
The fact that strider got split into archer and thief means that a vocation can probably have only one weapon, excluding a shield, which makes me wonder how will assassin work?
bruh i just watched a video
there is only 1 vocation that they didn't show yet
there is no clothing system like in DD1
instead they added a new slot for rings
the nimbleness of the mystic spearhand leads me to believe its mage+thief. There’s no reason to assume mystic knight isn’t still mage+warrior
Mystic spearhand is blue/red, not blue/green.
I really don't like "advanced" vocations. I wish they ditch them.
Uuuuuuuh hasnt everybody been talking about strider being op all these years? Nobody is getting shafted, bow/daggers combo is broken
How would they make a shield only class? Also what would you even split mage into?
@@fistybaby9489 Why split any of them? I'm not complaining, I'm just noticing that they did this and wondering why.
My prediction- it’s gonna be crap
Tf
No assasin vocation 😑
