    This water bottle holder will be great for our upcoming trip! There will be lots of long walks, so we'll be needing a couple. I wonder if I make one in Camo yarn if it will be manly enough for my hubby. Or maybe in dk blue, his favorite color.🤔

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  5 лет назад +1

      Camo OR dark blue, I like both those ideas! Mr. InStitches liked this blue one, it's a bit like denim, but white, dark green or even black would be great choices too!

    Jayda, I used the sc foundation row. If you make four rows, your tails end up on the same side. So what I did after the sc foundation row was do a row of double crochet, then did another row of sc, which makes it so you have a tail on each side.

    I love this video it’s very easy to follow. Even tho there is no right way to do it when you get the same results, but for im use too you do it backwards. I’m use to people doing the single crochets first then the increase, for example- 3 sc, increase, instead of increase first, I did it both ways when going this project and it gave me the same results so far I just found it kinda funny, but still lovely video I can’t wait to have a water bottle holder, I might even make one for my Momma

    • @robinhawk1288
      @robinhawk1288 3 года назад

      Okay, problem!! I measured this on DH many times.... but I made the strap using long rows.. He decided he wants the strap shorter. If I had made short rows, maybe I could have saved this. But I wove my tails in (at the join where the strap is attached and can only unravel part of the strap) and hid the tails so well and so secure that I cannot find how to get them out to save the yarn.... now the whole project is a fling instead of just the strap, and his birthday is coming up on Saturday. This is the frustrating part of crochet for me -- fixing problems!!

    Thank you so much for such a clear, concise tutorial and a very cute pattern for a funky bottle holder. Thanks especially for such clear explanations and directions on how to cater for a wider bottle(or tighter tension/different yarn/hook combinations). I also think the V-stitch makes the holder more secure than some of the other mesh designs.
    Is there a particular reason you choose to crochet the strap for this holder seperately and not just continue with 4-5 stitch single crochet to form the strap instead of fastening off after your 2 rows of single crochet? Is it a strength issue - that you felt the strap would be stronger and more secure if it were made horizontally and attached by sewing it on? Or was it purely aesthetic? Thanks again.

    This will be great for mini me for school. She has to have her water bottle with her at her desk all day and she's in middle school this would be a good way to keep it close and be able to carry it class to class since she is in middle school

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  5 лет назад

      Hi Tonya, goodness yes! In fact, if she has her backpack with her all the time, you could leave off the strap and just add a ball chain to it so it can attach to her backpack like a key chain :)

      Hi Tabitha, you're so sweet, thank you :) No secrets here! I've always enjoyed walking, I have a very plain diet (to try and keep my Rheumatoid in check) and I drink lots of water and try to get lots of sleep :)

      @@JaydaInStitches When you say plain diet what do you mean? My doctor wants me to do an anti inflammatory diet for auto immune disease. Any tips on a plain diet would be appreciated. Thank you. 💕

    I am out of work on a back injury no idea if or when I will be going back and this is perfect timing to learn. But I've found I only have 11 instead of 12 V stitches and no clue where I went wrong haha time to redo LOL love your channel! Time to blare music and block out the world

      Hi Sheena, WOW, we hope you mend up nice and quickly 💗 Don't fret too much about the number of V Stitches, as long as it fits a water bottle, it's fine! 😁

    remember that the length of the strap can become too long after the weight of the water bottle stretched it down.
