This is a black hole of talent. Meaning there is so much talent on this stage that it pulls talent from lesser beings in a fifty mile radius to add to the gravitational talent well. A talent well so deep that not even Nickelback can escape.
Each one of them enjoys jamming together, just pure talent and respect for each other's mastery of their instrument, all improvised and still a very melodic experience ❤️ I came for Buckethead I stayed for Buckethead Brain Mr Bernie and colonel Claypool 🙇🏻
To think of that they met Les Claypool right before the show and then just started a completely improvised gig.. this is so amazing! RIP Bernie Worrell!
Not really surprised. Drummer lays down the typical 4/4 beat that is in most songs. Claypool adds a bass line and doesn't really vary it, leaving Buckethead to throw down whatever comes to his inspired mind.
35:05 is just so mellow, and the impending build up to the eventual explosion at 35:30 is just unreal! Especially for just going out and winging it together on fly, I love it!
I still have my bracelet from this.. I was the 139th person ever let into bonnaroo ever. I will never forget the look on the summer schoolers faces when they saw us in that parking lot.
Saw Praxis with Bernie at bonnaroo coupla years after this! Took shrooms beforehand, bassist turned on some extreme distortion effect after like 45 minutes, and that made me feel like my insides were melting. Still, incredible show;]
This was the 1st and only time I saw Bernie Brains. The following year I got to see Flying From Brigade with Skerik and meet claypool in the audience watching Panic. This was an hour before Panic show at Roo and I just remember thinking about this show while Panic played. Amazing musicians and legends! One of the greatest festival moments, ever!
SO tight. monumental & expansive shit. i was there. Proud that i followed Claypool closely thru his endeavours and many shows during this time period. Bernie Bucket of Brains Oysterhead flying frog brigade one of the best of many highlights at the first bonnaroo
Lennon-claypool delirium is also pretty sick as well if you don’t know about that. They have an album that came out within the last 5ish years I’m pretty sure and it was really cool. I think it’s called monolith of phobos
@@stevie7214Dude, I absolutely love the Claypool Lennon Delirium. Monolith of Phobos is an excellent album, but I think that their second album South of Reality is even better. They also have an EP of cover songs that is fantastic.
Wow ! I am star struck and mesmerized by these incredibly innovative creative Cats ! Thanks for posting this entirety, I could only find clipits before and this knocked me out in a musical sense . R.I.P. Bernie W. You are gone from this earth but you will never be forgotten! Legend!
Worrell, Brain and Buckethead were there to perform with Bill Laswell as Praxis. Laswell wasnt able to play so Claypool invited them to jam with him. This was all improv
I was at this show. It was very hot, and we were very high on everything. Man, what a jam! Edgar Meyer and Bela Fleck. Phill, and friends Warren Haynes and Bob Weir. Jurassic 5. DJ logic string cheese, incident medeski Martin and wood. I remember it all somehow.

I would pay any amount of money to have the unreleased video footage from this year and 2003. Unbelievable shows those years. 2004 was ruined by storms unfortunately, and Bonnarroo was never the same after that.
we recorded all 3 days of roo 1 (2002), but i can't find the fucking tapes. we caught a piece of basically every single late night and main stage act plus all the cool sunday gospel and marching parade shit... sunrise particle set, etc.... all lost. hopefully not forever.

Four legends on one stage, and three of them had the pleasure and the privalige to play with Bernie Worrell.
So true ! Bernie was the Best ! He would always Burn the House Down !

An absolute privilege indeed! Bernie pulled it out to!
One of the greatest bass players ever, with THE greatest guitarist ever. This is amazing. Pure gold.
So much respect to Brain! He really kept everything moving along in this show. Never seen such an intuitive drummer before.

Truth man you have to be to get near any of these guys.
Yes, I'm not a drummer and don't really appreciate their skill, but was amazed how he was able to hold it all together.
he tells us brainlets when to move our necks

RIP the Space Viking, the one and only legendary Mr Bernie Worrell...shredding the B3 in peace in whatever liminal realm he now occupies.
The most amazing part of buckethead is how he avoids the urge to bop around like a human. The funkiest groove ever kicked and he still stands robotic
Yes yeaaaaasssssss zYes!💨💨💯
Same as Adam Jones from Tool, seen him live many times, dude never moves a muscle while just laying down the sickest guitar

Genuinely one of my all time sets. So nice
I never heard of Buckethead till I saw him at a music festival maybe 12 years ago. It was a real WTF moment.
Cheers!!! Nice to see the full version!! I can't express just how fucking great this gig is! Unbelievable! Love it!!!
Realizing how much I’m enjoying this sublime brilliance around 13-16 minutes into it.
13:00 warmups are over. Playing with soul or shredding are two very difficult things to master. Shredding with soul = Buckethead.
Give a listen to kimock, worrell, Hess, & Ingram . Not as hard but a supergroup that smoked
That groove underneath is insane.
Love the buckethead.
Yep. Going to go on a Pike tangent for a while. Beginning with the song “Coupon.”
