erm... hate to be the pain in the neck, but it's either you're unemployed + you're friends (which it's not) or rather you're unemployed + your friends... just sayin'
8:00 - Jilly's on Smack reminds me of My Friend Fats. Both songs have the same "theme". My Friend Fats on the Hallucino-Genetics vid is so well filmed that I was able to figure out the bass riff by watching the video. Neat shit, Les! Thanks for every single note of your entire career!
i grabbed a tuna salad sandwich.. and started to chew purdy soon larys yellin fish on . ahhh i love this song the first primus song i ever learned. when i die i want my ashes to be thrown out into the magnificent seas of cheese
Colonel Claypool's Bucket Of Bernie Brains is pretty close, check it out. Some awesome funky jams and of course claypool and buckethead take you on an acid trip with their antics during the show.
this aint my daughter nanci, its johnny g. les you guys rock! mfkn asum, seen ya'll at kalamazoo @20 years ago same seats front row center balcony. man you get around elkheart co. look me up we will fish on bro!
3:10 interesting...just out of curiosity i'd love to know if anyone other than Jayski was in mind for Naugahyde. I'd love to see a Brain/Brown in it's entirety tour. Camelback Cinema :)
That would be insane. I'm glad to know there are Primus' Fans who really dig the Brown Album. I think is one of their best albums and still is the most underrated one.
Rod GS Love the Brown! It has such a warm, fat analog-ish sound and the songs are just great. I saw them about three times during the Brown era and what was kinda cool was during that time if you saw them live, you didn't see the Rainbow bass make many appearances, if any. So he would often use that thin-necked, light brown 6-string fretted Carl Thompson to play Jerry and Mud and other songs where he would normally play fretless. To me it sounded way different. Brown is definitely underrated. To this day, when I see them live and they play Over The Falls, Ler's solo is still the highlight of the show.
That sounds sick. I envy the fact that you saw them three times back in the Brown Album era. So Les rarely used his fretless rainbow but, I am curious if he brought any kind of double bass to the shows?
Rod GS Yeah it was - Once at the Roseland Theater in Portland Oregon in fall of 97, Horde Festival in Portland in the summer of 97' and I'm pretty sure it was the KUFO RockFest in Portland in 98' i thought but my memory is fuzzy. It might have been right before Anti-Pop but Brain was definitely drumming. Yeah, all the songs where he would reach for the Rainbow Bass he would use that thin necked fretted CT bass. He always seems to use a Ned Steinberger 5 string upright back then for songs calling for double bass...and still using a NS last time I saw them last summer.
Ummm yeah, I love hearing about the trials and hardships of the blue collar working man coming from the lips of a millionaire..... annnnnnd yes I'm trolling. Les and co. are completely awesome.
WHO infodaman?? Picking on Lee?? Did this dude just listen to the album on the way over to do the interview?? Taking my 8 year old daughter to see them in Bakersfield Ca! She had the choice of Bieber or Primus.
+Greg Voloshen,, Sadly I am way to low on the totem pole,, Never heard a peep from Les the best,, I understand tho,, Most are out there for $$$$$,, Not me.. I just know that he likes to fish & Kodiak Ak, ISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS---FISH! Oh well the offer is still there, kodi
The interview had a good vibe and the interviewer had good questions. I enjoyed it.
Les is awesome. He is very interesting and well spoken
Great interview! Really liked the questions the interviewer asked Les here. Thank you!
Great interview.
"funny thing about the weekend when your unemployed , they don't mean quite so much , except you get to hang out with your working friends "
erm... hate to be the pain in the neck, but it's either you're unemployed + you're friends (which it's not) or rather you're unemployed + your friends...
just sayin'
@@alekseypetrenko868 shut up
@@alekseypetrenko868 You don't even understand? HAHA
I Love you Les
I cant wait to see them live again :D
Jerry was a racecar driver excellente
Tim is with Puscifer and A Perfect Circle now, which which are both side projects of the lead singer from Tool

This interviewer isnt actually that bad, I mean of course he's nervous but he seem's really calm and comfortable throughout the interview
The Rush comment was priceless.
I want to know everything about les' rig and pieces of furniture! Primus come to finland!
Colonel Claypool's Bucket Of Bernie Brains is pretty close, check it out. Some awesome funky jams and of course claypool and buckethead take you on an acid trip with their antics during the show.
Les likes Eddie Cochran! Another plus for this guy!
He said les playpool
I laughed at this way more than I should of
Nice interview.
I always thought Herb had great hi hat stylings, but yeah Jay even moreso on this album.
The eyes of a squirrel are watch'n.
Les dominates this conversation.

*searches internet for ‘johnny g’*
That fucking laugh he does when he loses the button on his vest. LMFAO!!
I think the guy interviewing Les is an eternal consumption engine
Les, why dont you play any songs from Primus's album Anti-Pop? ive seen Primus 6 times, and this album is all but forgotten by the band live? WHY??
He said in a QnA this summer that the band was falling apart at that time and they will likely never play those songs again.
That is sad. Antipop is my favorite album from them.
It's called "They Can't All Be Zingers".
well thats a big hat
Anyone else catch the "Antipop-culture" ;D?
i was jut about to comment that lmao
I can't fault the interviewer. He's nervous as hell, and clearly knows Primus. If he likes Les as much as I do, he's gotta be crazy nervous.

Brown álbum It's Primus Brown best very moment trough Brown time, Like 97
GOOD OLE UNCLE LARRY LALONDE
Imagine a band with this guy as the bassist, Buckethead as the guitarist, and Mike Portnoy on drums...
Fuck!
Yeah, well there already exists a similar lineup to that. It's called OYSTERHEAD.
HAAA! Les' face at 4:33 when the DB interviewer gets the song name wrong.
Les must be a very nice and patient man to sit through these kinds of interviews and answer cliche questions
Where do I get a hat like an early 19th century newspaper boy?
It's so crazy that I went to middle school with jay lanes daughter 0-0
+max boldman awow
Good.
Well I know Tim went and did some Puscifer work/touring other than that not sure
Ummm yeah, I love hearing about the trials and hardships of the blue collar working man coming from the lips of a millionaire..... annnnnnd yes I'm trolling. Les and co. are completely awesome.
Just wondering why was it obvious it wasn't going to happen with Tim?
les is god
hooinfodaman, seriously? He even says it in the song HOINFODAMAN.
Les is brilliant and Jilly's on smack is on of my favorite
dont think about singles? what about the album called Primus singles
Why did they have that Chud interview him though.
Just curious... but did he say why he doesn't get along with Les?
This guy clearly is not interested in Primus
You know you've got a fantastic question for an interview when you have to include the word "maybe" because of how unsure you are
Why does he say "... And it was obviously not going to happen with Tim"? Did they have a huge fight or something? Somebody knows?
This guy is obviously not a primus fan.
Is there a Les Claypool interview where the interviewer is good??
Les has barnicles,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
WHO infodaman?? Picking on Lee?? Did this dude just listen to the album on the way over to do the interview?? Taking my 8 year old daughter to see them in Bakersfield Ca! She had the choice of Bieber or Primus.
n0stalgic
lol
No1 rules.
Dont blow into the rucking mic.
there's a squirrel

This guy managed to misinterpret the whole album...
Dude's obviously not a Primus fan hahaha. He sucks, but not like Primus does!

Anti pop culture
I think he said ''Hentai-pop-culture''
'Whoin' fodaman?!? Seriously... I like the interviewer but dude, listen to the actual track so you can at least pronounce the title right...
Primus Sucks
