The same thing happened to me. I removed the shoulder armor and pulled up the under shirt up I didn't have to break the stitching to the break at the elbow. I glued it with a precision tip Krazy Glue and it seems to be holding and I can move it. It will be displayed so I don't think I'll be moving the arm that often. For the hands I used a drill bit that was slightly bigger than the hole and removed the material manually(not attached to a drill) using the drill bit, and this solves the problem.
Some really useful tips there, thank you. I did try to remove the shirt but it wouldn’t work for me so resorted to breaking the stitching. Not ideal but it will go back together ok. My plan is to drill out a bit from both parts of the arm pieces and place a rod in, then just fit them back together. The break on mine is particularly bad and I don’t think glue will hold it for very long. But I’ll definitely keep in mind what you’ve mentioned 😃
Same exact thing happened to me, but on the opposite arm. I was trying to change out the hand and felt a snap, I think he was out of the box about 5 minutes. I contacted BBTS, where I had purchased it, and they said this had been a constant problem with this figure. They even told me I should take a refund instead of a replacement because the arm snapping is so bad on them.
Same thing happened to me with the arm. Sent them an email and they exchanged it for another one. Now I’m scared to pose the one I have. He’s currently just standing there near the Bale and Affleck BK Batman’s. I think your best friend in this case is a heat gun though, especially if you like swapping parts around!
I did think about contacting the manufacturer and see it they could help me out. But I think because I’ve already tampered with the figure, they maybe not help. But it’s worth a shot I guess. I usually settle on one pose and keep it there, and to be fair I haven’t moved the figure round all that much. But by the sounds of it, it’s a common fault with it. Thank you for your advice, very much appreciated.
I had mine for a few days after watching this video, a day later the left arm snapped on mine trying to change the hands, so i feel your pain mate! Need to get a replacement now as i have their Joker so need a batman to go with him.
Sorry to hear you’ve had the issue with the Batman figure, it’s a real shame. I recently reviewed the Joker figure, and it’s definitely a better figure compared to the other Beast Kingdoms I have. I’ve got the Mezco Batman 89 figure review coming up on Friday, and that’s not without its issues as well!
You don't expect this many QC issues with a figure at this price point. I would be bloody fuming mate. Might be worth sending an email and photos to the manufacturer, but the whole thing is a pain in the tits for sure. Sorry that you had all these issues, that's very disappointing.
It is very disappointing. That being said, I will make a fix of some sort and just live with it. But I really have no idea when, or how it broke. I’m always so careful with figures (especially).
Good video showcasing the Q.C. issues with this figure, I was ready to get this figure, but now I'll have to respectfully pass on this. Thanks for preventing a lot of other collectors from wasting money on this figure. Let's hope Beast Kingdom takes the hint and does something about these issues
Thank you! I was really excited to present this in the initial video. A real shame that I’ve had to advise not to purchase this figure. But going by what others have said in the comments, seems like a known issue and for some people, both arms have broken off. Glad I could be of some help to you. I try my best to give good advice on products 😃
@@MattandTheRetroRoom You're welcome. I look for reviews like yours because they're fair and unbiased, giving the good with the bad and letting people know when there are Q.C. issues for them to 'buyer beware' of.
That’s excellent feedback, thank you. I was hoping for constructive feedback like this so I can focus on what viewers like yourself are looking for. I’ll definitely remember this for future videos.
My right arm elbow joint broke trying to replace the trigger hand yesterday during a review as well 😆😟😭Luckily I'll be able to return for a replacement ! Great review my friend 👍
Welcome to the club lol. It’s a damn shame this is happening to a lot of people. Glad to hear you were able to get something sorted though 👍 Thank you for comment, and I will check your videos out!
One thing I noticed off the bat besides the terrible cloth goods cape material, was the likeness to Keaton. The sculpt doesn't look like him at all. Looks more like Val Kilmer lol
Unfortunately, this fails in many areas. Which is a shame because I really wanted to like this. I also have the Beast Kingdom Joker coming as well. I’m just hoping it isn’t half as bad as this one.
I got my 89 batman yesterday and he's amazing I've had no problems with mine I opened mine and I heated up his joints up with a hairdryer and mine looks great and no broken parts at all never had any issues Try heating up the joints next time with a hairdryer .
Seems to be varying opinions and issues with this figure ….i just ordered him so fingers crossed……I have the joker and he’s great (except for a few accessory nit picks)
Look pretty cool. Too much for what I thought it was... But came back to this review since it went on sale for sixty bucks. Think I'll pick it up then.
Should not have these kinds of issues with a $130 figure ….if they want to charge the high end collectable prices then they need to deliver a high end product
That's not the Batman Returns cowl at all. It's the 89 version. Beast Kingdom just announced their Batman Returns version of this figure and the cowl is noticeably different, especially around the eyes and the nose. This cowl also has the 89 logo, not the Batman Returns logo (which is on the new Beast Kingdom Batman Returns figure).
Had both arms break on mine. So cheap and delicate! They replaced it for me but he now is posed very neutral like. Nothing that bends the joints. Disappointed to say the least in this figure.
Most of the '89 figures have the same cawl issue. Feel like the cawl is better placed than the mezco and doesnt pop off as easily. Definitely having the hand problem. Im going to try the file trick. Good to know its a fragile piece.
Filing does take a bit long to do, but I find you’re more in control. Other methods like using a drill bit is the quickest and easiest way. But if you remove too much, then you’re kinda stuffed. The figure is extremely fragile unfortunately, but I still enjoy it nevertheless. Thanks for your comment 😁
I’m hearing this a lot from people. At first I thought maybe I was being too heavy handed, but probably not. Sorry to hear about yours having the same issues. Did you return it?
@@MattandTheRetroRoom real quick what are your thoughts on then bootleg 7inch neca Keatons? Cause ebay got em for like 30buks,I'm sure there bootleg. Is it worth buying?
Oh boy, I share your disappointment. This figure disappointed me as well. I preordered it after getting SHF 1989 Batman because it didn’t come out as expected. So far the only nice and affordable 89 Batman is Neca 1/4. The better option is of course Hottoys but the after market price is out of my budget. The beast kingdom Joker is a better figure but still, I would not pre order until the actual release. Thank you for the video.
Thank you for your comment! Yes, disappointed indeed. I had high hopes for it. It’s never really bothered me if a figure requires a little work, I.e the hands, but this seems to break very easily. The head sculpt isn’t perfect but I was willing to look past it and enjoy it for what it is. Never mind, you live and learn. I agree the NECA 1/4 Batman is great (I’ve got a follow up video on that soon) and I do have the latest Hot Toys Batman 89 on preorder, and the Batmobile to go with it. Thanks again 😄
Yeah I think thats a combo of cheap under body plastiks and the tight suit causing that to snap and hope my Mezco has none of these issues. I feel for yah buddy as we so want our products to be good.
It looks like the Bicep on the right arm is twisted inwards, have you tried moving the Bicep under the garment to face forward? If that is indeed the case. And then I see the rest of the video, sorry man!
