I totally agree Fuji makes cameras with soul, it’s the user experience and beautiful designs. The Fuji team really understands what inspires us to go enjoy ourselves.
Thank you! You’re the first mainstream reviewer (to my knowledge) that touches upon the false focus for “eye” (and “animal”) recognition. Same thing in the XH-2. Camera found and focused on the eye but upon looking at the photo either the nose or forehead is in focus. A lot of reviews boast how quickly focus acquisition is with face/eye/animal but rarely do they actually show if it nailed the focus.
They had a price point to hit. Using the X-H2 EVF would have brought the price up to the X-H2 price. I'm OK with the older EVF and it hasn't bothered me at all in the week that I've had the X-T5.
I totally agree with you. Leading up to all of Fuji’s new releases this year the forums were full of people giving huge wish lists of specs, yet that didn’t want to spend more then 2k on it. Like really?
Fuji went out all out the X-H2 and X-H2s and dialled it down a bit for the X-T6 because they probably knew more people would pick it up.
Anyway, I’m a happy X-H2s owner over here. Can’t really complain about it that Fujifilm does need to roll out a update for subject tracking on at least the birds and animals. As a wildlife photographer I do notice the lack of hit accuracy and even have experienced when he experienced with it locking one eye yet the other eye is in focus with birds.
It’s $300 between xt5 and xh2 so i get it why Fuji didn’t add higher EVF.
@@Will_B_Photos_MTL the new price of the x-t2s has tumbled though, with the x-h2 already getting some discounts. I was offered one for €2025 in a store not willing to discount the x-t5 which was €2k.
New release prices are always inflated, but I think that shows there was plenty of margin to include this one feature I think they should have carried over and still sold it at €2k. At the time of the release of the x-h2s I predicted the x-t5 would be a €2k camera... but for that price including the stacked sensor. I'm pleased to see the 40mp sensor appears to perform, bit still think the stacked sensor more than the evf was the missed opportunity here.
Totally agree. The evf needs to be better. I shoot Sony ( A7iv) and Fujifilm, really enjoy both. Sony autofocus is on a different level, a wonderful camera but not much soul. Cameras today are soo good, so to take/make (will not get in that argument) a bad photo is not the camera's fault. However for me it is the process and here Fuji wins out. I own the XT5 and it makes the process fun again. I also bought the X100V on the first day of release. That's not a camera, that's my friend, my mate, my companion. I won't go there on that camera, but for me the XT5, while not perfect, has a soul and it encourages me be to be a photographer again.
Exactly. This is why i also prefer fujifilm.
So I’m super torn between XT5 and A7IV. It’ll be my first mirrorless so I don’t have any ties to either company yet. For a one trick pony (75% photo, 25% film), if you absolutely had to keep only one, would you keep your XT5 or keep the A7IV? As an enthusiast, not a pro.
Same as you. Enthusiast, not a pro. Ended up with A7IV instead of the XT-5. I love it! But then I found a deal on an XT-3 for $650 and said f it and picked that up too. I don’t see myself getting rid of the Sony, but am going to sell either the XT-3 (it arrives today) or my Olympus Pen F. Surprisingly I think I’ll get more money for my Pen F
@@georgekyriazi If you have no affinity to the retro feel, dials or film simulation think you'll be better off with a A7IV.
@@georgekyriazi XT-5 any day of the week or XH-2 .. far superior Camera compared to A74 or wait for Canon R6 II
I'm not sure what you mean with _touch tracking_ but the X-T5 has the capability to track your subject by selecting it on the touch screen and the autofocus will follow it. At least in still mode, in movie mode I haven't used it.
It's in video mode it doesn't work. But it's in video mode it's most useful.
The EVF is my one gripe with the XT-5. Frankly, I don't know why Fuji went with two different XH-2 models? The XH-2S (which would have been called the X-H2) would be targeted to hybrid, fast-action shooters. Then the XT-5 (assuming all the specs of the XH-2) would be the lone camera with the new 40MP sensor. Both cameras having the latest and greatest EVF. Enough differentiation between the XH-2 and XT-5 so not to have one cannibalize the sales of the other. Instead it feels like Fuji offered slightly "watered down" version of the XH-2 to those folks who wanted the retro styling.
Highly interested in the X-T5 for exactly the process and feeling of shooting with this camera. Thanks for the honest coverage of the "flaws" or shortcomings!
Perfect points. I feel they missed it on the EVF, but otherwise nailed everything else. Hopefully they can add touch tracking through a firmware update.
Nope, the rolling shutter and buffer rate is worst...more like one step forward but 2 step backwards
Hi Manny, firstly thanks for sharing your thoughts. I can relate to having a camera that inspires you to go shoot. I use the Canon R5C and love it for pro work, although the XT4 was my fun, creative, pick up and go have fun camera. I’m hopping to go Fuji medium format for my personal use soon. Just give me a 35mm and I’m good to go. No need to invest in the whole ecosystem. Keep it simple and sophisticated.
Manny i am so damn glad you added that last clip in this review talking about how your Sony’s don’t encourage you to go out and shoot like the Fuji’s do. More importantly, how cameras do everything so easily nowadays it takes the magic away from photography. This needs to become a mainstream argument in the photo world because I am selling my A7iii because even if it does things so beautifully well, features aren’t everything. I am buying the x-t5 instead to switch it out because I feel the same way you do. When I’ve owned fuji cameras I shot with them so much more because they’re build on creativity and inspiration not on being the most capable (even if they very much are the most capable APSC camera maker), whereas Sonys feel soulless and computer like.
Curious what the demographic of Fuji users are. Seems Sony users tends to be of the younger techie generation. I'm a X-T1 Fuji user but don't quiet get the whole makes you want to be creative or go out to shoot stuff feel. To me it is just a digital camera I use for shots. When I try the Sony bodies I feel no different. Maybe because I never done photography with film to have that nostalgia?
@@Battlem0nk I never did film either. But for some reason I seem to find fuji to have more of an inspiring feel. I like how it features double exposure mode in camera. I love how the great IBIS sallows to capture moving subjects handheld with slow shutter speed while keeping scene frozen without camera shake. I enjoy the film simulations as they allow me to personalize colors in camera. It’s just more creatively liberating where as the Sony is very minimalistic and computer-like. Set your settings and capture an image. That’s it. No extra touches, no extras for creative exploration.
@@savnac Doesn't Sony have picture profiles and creative styles that does similar to what film simulation do? There are even sony recipes you customize that mimic Fuji film sims. Haven't played with them since I do all my edits with RAW. Custom preset batch and done.
When I use my X-T1 it feels like using a B/W TI-89 graphic calculator. It works but no frills. Menus all are simple. Though my favorite film sim is classic chrome.
When I try the Sony A7IV the colorful menu reminds me of using an old flip phone. I don't mind it kinda like it.
@@Battlem0nk I guess it’s all personal preference. Subjective. I love CC film simulation also and it’s my favorite too.
Sony does have picture profiles also but it’s not as intuitive to use as the profiles don’t have descriptions or unique names to identify them easily. It’s more of a working photographers camera where fuji is more of a creative enthusiasts camera (which can also be used for gigs).
@@Battlem0nk Sony's picture profiles are kinda similar, but they're meant for video and process images in the way video is done. E.g. it's more to do with log curves, colour space etc. Those are functions used to conform a data rate in order to capture more dynamic range. I'm not exactly certain about the timeline of the process, but I think the changes are made right before compression into a JPEG (or video i.e. moving JPEGs). Log curves exist because in order to capture more than 12 stops of data coming from a 14/16bit sensor, an 8 or 10 bit image can only capture 8-10 stops respectively. Photo RAW files don't work this way. If it did, our RAW files would come out flat and we would have to colour grade it.
However, Fujifilm simulations are remapping colours of the RAW file even before the JPEGs are generated, and it is handling the full 14 bit depth worth of information. In that sense, it is a little less prone to things like compression artefacts from log conversions which is a lossy conversion in most mirrorless cameras. Or that's what I'm assuming. I could be totally wrong here, if someone knows better I'd be glad to hear.
If you go to Samuel Streetlife's channel, he has a video talking about why presets and profiles are entirely different and not interchangeable. It has to do with when and how the colour data is being transformed. ruclips.net/video/xx9i-BDozAc/видео.html
I'm glad you don't give the most "tech-spec" review possible with these new Fujis, I enjoy your real-world use comparison and how these different cameras make you feel. Your work speaks for itself, and I have seen your more technical reviews, (i'm a Sony user myself), but its videos like yours lately that make me want to go out and grab one of these new cameras by them. They really do look phenomenal, and in general I think this year changes the way people look at Fuji cameras.
I have been a photographer for 50 years. I consider myself a recreational photographer. I have several Fujifilm cameras and an older Nikon DSLR. I shoot these cameras because they are fun. I just ordered the XT5.
Currently shooting an XT2 but I tried the XH2S for a weekend. And oh man ! I would trade the dials for the better body feel any time. But of course it’s my taste. When shooting hybrid, I find the dials to be confusing as what you see on those dials, might not be the settings currently in use.

X-T5 actually has same size EVF as X-H2. Resolution is significantly better on the X-H2 but that's mainly useful on punching in to check focus. Nonetheless, I enjoyed your thoughts on using both of them and thanks for making the video.
The X-H2S has better AF than the X-H2 and X-T5 due to the stacked sensor. A massive note for those needing better AF.
It has exactly the same af. Just have different datatransfer and data to transfer.
@@Gundolf300 the stacked sensor allows for more AF calculations per second so it is able to keep up more accurately with moving subjects.
This has already been tested and proven. The AF in the X-H2S definitely tracks better than the non stacked cameras.
What I want is a stacked 26 mpx sensor with the autofocus capabilities of the XH2S but the classic dials and body design of the XT5
@@Gundolf300 my xh2s af is MUCH improved over my xt3, the xt3 would pulse in video but I've never had the xh2s pulse even with a lot of unpredictable movement
No, it's not better, it's *different.* The X-H2S has an advantage when focusing on moving subjects because of the readout speed. The X-T5 and X-H2 have an advantage on focusing on fine detail because of the resolution. One may be more useful to *you* over the other, but neither is objectively better overall.
As someone who has owned a range of Fuji cameras including the xt4, the xt5 is truly the perfect camera for my street photography needs. DoI need 40mp? Hell no. But what what it’s worth il happily have it knowing I can crop without loss. The size and weight is spot on and the screen is just perfect (Main reason I sold my xt4). I’m pairing this with the 33 1.4 and I really have a street setup that suits me well. I havnt used it much but I did have a weeks trip on Berlin using this camera and it’s just incredible.
It’s a bucket list camera for me as it fits my style of photography very very well. Toss the 27mm WR onto it and head out with an extra battery for a full day of street in the PacNW dampness. Great food, a giant all day softbox, and Acros+Ye.
You hit the nail on the head! I had the sony a7r4a but it never motivated me to go out and take photos, I currently have the leica q2 reporter but same again, it's more of a show piece. I have just ordered the xt5 with a 27mm prime lens, I'm so looking forward to getting it, it was an alternative to getting the x100v due to shortages, but actually I think I may enjoy it more than the x100v, 40mp and twice the battery life and changeable lenses
I'm lucky enough to have both the XH2-S for myself and the X-T4 for my wife. We missed the a7iii's focus and touch tracking but we can live without it. Still betting on them to implement touch tracking because everyone is waiting for it...
Update to firmware 3.00 and you won't miss the A7III anymore.
@@Vinterloft yep i did. For photos its great but video still lacks touch tracking.
i love the xt5 feel, its just ”right” I don’t mind the evf, shot with xt30 and it was fine. But it would be nice with bigger evf. Its the snapping button that does it for me
Thanks for your review, I’m tired of hearing just fanboys talk about the cameras!
In fairness the EVF has slightly better specs than the a7IV’s. And yes the lack of touch tracking in video is nuts. They need to add that asap.
I went to B&H Photo in New York this weekend to compare an X-H2 vs X-T5. Specks are similar on the photography side which I'm mostly interested in. I’m traveling with my cameras, so I like them to be as light as possible. Thus, I did have almost decided on an X-T5. I don’t mind the PASM style button although I prefer the standard Fuji dials.
It was only after I looked into the Viewfinder, I thought there might be something wrong with the X-T5. The view was smaller and significantly dimmer than that of the X-H2. It is like comparing your 48-inch old edge lit LED TV with a 75-inch OLED TV, the difference was massive. After seeing this difference, I would think about it every time if I decided to buy the X-T5, wondering how this would look in the X-H2. So, my advice to people deciding on the X-T5, do not under any circumstances look into a X-H2 view finder, it will ruin your day. If you’ve never seen it, you’ll be fine, because the X-T5 is an excellent camera.
I keep hearing how different the EVF is btwn the XT5 and XH2, I tried both EVF’s(at B&H) and didn’t notice this massive difference. I however noticed the XT5 was brighter.
I like what you said about cameras for work and ones that inspire you. I shoot with sony A7C for my job and I own one for family portraits. I borrowed a friend's fuji x100v and was having a blast.
Great video. Northside Chicago, go Bears.
Just wanna say the end was so validating to me. I'm a professional photographer with a Sony A7iv and about $7000 in lenses and have almost no desire to shoot for fun. I thought I must be insane and questioned why I'm looking at fuji videos..
COINCIDENCE!!
I was just thinking about u sir that "Manny Ortiz's favourite lense is 135mm gm" within 2 seconds I received your notification.
Saving money for purchasing that lens. Wish me luck sir.
Hey Manny, love your content. What lighting kit/triggers ect, can you recommend for the Fuji system? Cheers 🙏
Spot on about having a side camera. I picked up an ancient x-e1 to dangle off my wrist when I'm riding scooter or bike around NYC.. and it's SO FUN. Tossed a manual prime on there. Just range focus around the city and treat it like a point and shoot with some power features. I end up on location with my main body and rush through so I can go back to the fun part ha.
@2:05 LOL, Aww man, not grandma's tv lol!! Well said tho.
Thanks for the video and for giving genuine points about the camera.
The video I’ve been waiting for 🤎🤎🤎🤎
Great honest take on the X-T5. You are definitely a purist. Thanks for review.
I wish it had the X-T4 screen 📷🎥 🙏
Hi Manny, what device did you use to connect Fuji to use mobile phone as an external monitor (at 7:31) ?
Thnx.
Every week your choice is changing..
He's mentioned before he only uses fuji for his personal photography for family vacations, etc.. His commercial photography utilizes Sony/Canon.
Great video. I think for me the X-T4 hits that sweet spot. Some XH features (flip out screen, battery grip) in a XT body. I feel like aside from the 40mega pixels. I’d be losing more upgrading from the XT4. Either way, both great cameras.
@@bbasleigh6149 Depends how you buy, new or at least newly released is rarely the best route in terms of price and bugs. My x-t3 cost me €750, so a return of €600 isn't too bad. My x-t5 cost me €1800 on a deal. For the discounted price now I accepted I'd have to accept the first round of bugs and firmware upgrades. €1200 is still a lot for the upgrade, but it's a significant enough upgrade from the x-t3. I had wanted the x-t4 to upgrade from the x-t2, but it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment, being just a repackaged x-t3. The x-t5 is exactly what I had been waiting for.
But your net loss isn't €1400, it's the €900 depreciation on the x-t3 when you sell it. The fact the next camera costs more doesn't mean you've lost money, it's money you're investing for an upgrade. That's why I said my upgrade would cost €1200, my loss is €150.
I only buy new if it's gear I intend to hang on to for a long time, regardless of what is released next. Same with lenses. I intend to hang on to the x-t5 for many years. I agree on the evf, but it's not the end of the world.
@@brownbear100sadly, the build quality of the xt5 may make where you *cant* hold onto it for many years to come. 😕
The XH2 looks actually like a better buy even for a hobby, no premium for the design hype
Great review, thanks Manny!
I bought my first fujifilm camera the XT5. It's an awesome camera next my Leica
I said the exact same thing about the EVF in another channel and got some flack for it. To me, there was no reason to keep the old EVF except to place an artificial line of demarcation between it and the "flagship" cameras. They could have put a better EVF in this one for what? $50 more? $100 more? It would still have been a lower price than the XH2 and XH2s but the shooter gets a better experience. Also, no battery grip was a big kick in the pants. Again, no valid reason to not offer it other than to artificially differentiate it from the X-H2 cameras. Fuji would have no problem selling the battery grip--especially for those that want to use longer lenses and need a better grip experience. It's almost like Fuji has said that "Photo-Only" customers are now second-tier in their eyes. It's really disappointing. I would have been happy to pay a bit more for a top-tier tool that delivers a more analog experience. Maybe I'm in the minority.
Fuji going where the market is shifting and that is hybrid/video. In essence "photo-only" is actually second-tier now. Sometimes that extra $100 has a psychological effect. X-T4 was $1699 and guess they want that target.
A battery grip option is almost a NECESSITY when shooting with the 80mm, 90mm or any of the Fuji telephoto zooms. What a shame this is NOT an option. I have no interest in the X-H2 or X-H2S.☹️
@@JeffreyHauser If you need the extra grip for heavy lens could put on a L-bracket.
But, think Fuji is targeting an audience that doesn't use big lens as they will say the X-H grip is beefier/better. Whelps. Can't satisfy everyone.
I was bummed the X-T line didn't have a flippy screen. Ideally I wanted a screen like the A7RV that both tilt & flip.
@@JeffreyHauser Grip or no grip, you should support larger lenses with a hand, or (if on a tripod) via a tripod collar on the lens. Unless you want to put undue stress on the camera's lens mount. I won't disagree with the other advantages of a grip (extra batteries, vertical shooting, more connection points, etc)
They didn't put better even in their $6500 GFX100s. I would have paid more for it.
I have noticed that with every new Fuji camera there's always a 'thorn' embedded somewhere. Generally that 'thorn' is 'fixed' in the next release, but it too will very likely have its own 'thorn'. That said, I currently have 6 Fuji bodies, all different. Go figure.
I'd love to see some fuji lens reviews with the xt5 for portraits!
You should check out viltrox 75mm lens, it is bang for bucks for the given price the quality is outstanding for both x and H mount.
@@6Eternal9 would you take it over a similar sigma???
@@cloudycaptures4577 if I'm on a budget then yes, if I'm not then I'll go for Sigma. Moreover you should check viltrox 75mm/56mm videos on RUclips you will know how amazing the optical lens they have for the lens and the sharpness they produce (viltrox is half the price over the other brands without compromising the quality)
Well... take your lightmeter and load a roll of film into a classic SLR, then develop in the kitchen or bathroom like we did back in the days. That takes the joy for process up to the highest level. It is so peaceful. My Fuji is an M42 Fujica^^. For the work: A soulless machine does a better job.
Very good points and great video… 👍👍
I like the Fuji XT-5 but for me all the dials etc. making it too fuzzy. Appreciate the build quality though!
Everything mentioned here just doesn't sound enough for me to throw my X-T4 away anytime soon. I was really hoping the X-T5 would be a X-H2 with dials. To me X-T4 is the best balanced stills/video Fuji camera to date if you love the camera architecture that has put Fuji in a different place from competitors.
Agreed!! I’m leaning towards an eventual second xt4 instead of a 5.
@@paradockz I feel more attracted to the X-H2 than X-T5 now but not sure yet... I know I will miss those dials so... X-T4 is my current solution as well.
I don't think the X-T5 is aimed towards the audience that has already an X-T4 unless they have new gear acquisition syndrom. In the comments on RUclips I have noticed that a surprisingly great amount of people switched from the X-T2 to the X-T5 (including myself) and that's a pretty big upgrade.
I dont think everybody use touch tracking, i think they dont have it as a feature cause it gets in the way, if for example someone does street, and fujifilm cams are mostly used by street photographers
the X-T5 viewfinder is fine. let’s not be spoiled and ask for too much just because *we can.*
Great remark about the fully articulated screen for real hybrid cameras.
I would be interested in hearing a comparison between the XH1 and XT5 regarding picture quality. I would have liked to have the XH2 but since the XH2 abandoned the tilt screen, the focus mode lever, and the click command dial, I am considering the XT5 for the 40 MP sensor and better battery life. But if there is no significant difference in image quality, then perhaps it is not worth upgrading????
Which model flash are you using here ?? Great review as always.
Hello sir! Did you use the 18-55 kit with x-t5 in this video? It would be great if you could take a moment to tell how this lens performed with the xT5.
The EVF Megapixel bump is probably going to come with the X-Pro model.
Looks neat!
I am still wondering what you think about the om system om1 or Olympus em1 iii
“Like looking at a TV from 1992” lol, you must be very young or I must be very old. 😂🤣😂🤣😂 I would have say, a small tv from the 70’s 🤣😂🤣😂🤣. Yeah, I’m getting old! 🤗🎉🎈🎊
40mp on an apsc? Seriously what are they thinking. 40Mp on full frame already sacrifices so much light gathering capability. Now throw it on a smaller sensor, sheesh.
Imo apsc is perfect at 20-28MP
What’s the name of that circular softbox modifier
The thing is that Sony cameras are soulless computers that take pictures. That’s what separates them from something like a Fujifilm, Olympus, or Leica, those 3 have soul and are a joy to use. You literally can’t get your exposure wrong on a Sony because you can just lift the hell out of shadows like it’s nothing. You don’t have to work for it. It makes you lazy. Therefore something like a Fujifilm is superior 😊
literally my reason to get the x pro 3 :P its a joy to use unlike my a7iii :P
Soulless Sony? Sounds like a good nickname
Gotta take it to the next level and go back to film full manual cameras. Nothing like the feel of winding up the roll of film. Get even more soul!
@@Battlem0nk I do just that. I find myself using my OM1 SLR more and more everyday. My xt4 comes up next. A7r3 and 4 do the job for me though.
You can lift shadows on any camera with a Sony sensors.:) That means Fuji, Nikon and Sony. I also like shooting with Fuji a lot more. So bye-bye Sony FF for me and picked the Fuji cropper, GFX100s.
Great review.. thanks man!!
Totally agree! using my SL2-S to the X-T5 the Evf is ruff lol
why do you think the XH2 gives more latitude to push the files than the XT5? based on identical technical specifications they should be exactly the same, no?
Only if Fuji had full frame cameras! Then Fuji would be industry leader
They already have two separate product lines with the X and GFX series. I don't think introducing a third would be the right thing for Fuji... or the customers for that matter.
I have to disagree. I am Fujifilm user and the AF sucks. If you use continuous autofocus and subject move, you got a lot out of focus images. If you don't care about AF Fuji is for you.
@@6042833 I agree with you in that Fuji is to be treated as a fun camera. I returned my XT-5 due to bad autofocus. However, I love the brand. The day they fix the AF to be consistent and reliable not necessarily the fastest like Sony and Canon but reliable, in other words green box means in focus and not - could be in in focus, I will go all Fuji. They make inspiring cameras with some serious drawbacks for now. Hopefully they will fix these issues and kick some ass. I am cheering for them to win the reliability contest.
@@annarakannan6620 Did you try setting the camera to focus priority? The default is shutter priority and will make the camera produce more out-of-focus shots.
I have the X-T3 , XT4 and now the XH2 bodies .. the focus is not the best but it sure gets the job done. X-T3 and X-Pro 3 remains my favorite. The new linear lens makes a world of difference.
How does the EVF compare to the X100V? That's the camera I'm coming from and have a Canon R6, but thinking about getting an XT5 with a 16-55 2.8 or similar kit lens just as an in-between for this camera that I get inspired to shoot with like you described
I have xt30 and soon will upgrade to xt4.
Hmm I'm also thinking about this upgrade. Have you already bought the xt4? What are your thoughts?
Bro use capture one, it much more better in colour for fujifilm
Would you advise the xt5 or xh2 as a main professional camera? It is difficult for me to decide. Would love to hear!
Thank you for another excellent video. I just got the XT5. I have an XT4 and Xpro3. I don't see the nostalgic neg in the lightroom files when I bring the raw files over. I don't see classic neg or sepia or bypass either. Is this an issue where lightroom has not yet added the XT5? Is there a way to circumnavigate this or do we just have to wait? (aside from shooting in JPEG). Thank you so much for any insight. -Heather
So for the photographer who never shoots video (like me) would you recommend the T5?
People greatly underestimate fuji. Between the xh2S, or xh2 or xt5 and the gfx 100s medium format cameras they are attacking full frame cameras from both sides.
what camera do you recommend for a beginner who just wants to experiment and do photography as a hobby
For JUST photography if I already have the a7s iii, wich would you choose, FUJI XT% or the A7RV?
I would have traded the xt5 sensor for the xh2s’ stacked sensor but get the xh2’s evf!!! It would have been perfect.
absolutely agree with the EVF - if its photography first it should have the best EVF possible. I also think they've cheaped out on the Joystick - also a tool for photographers... ;)
All Fuji joysticks are a bit fiddly for some reasons.
@@bobby350z yeah I really don't like them
I'm still shooting with a Sony A7Rii, I purchased a X100V in 2020 and fell in love with Fuji... I use it daily.. Do you think switching my A7Rii for an X-T5 would be a good idea? Is it a step backwards since its Full Frame vs APS-C? I find my Sony lacking in functions now (lack of touch screen being its biggest downfall). I'm ready to upgrade, I just don't know if I'm going to regret going from full frame to APS-C, if my image quality will suffer (especially at lower light)
It depends on what you need for your camera. But I would not recommend switching to fuji and apsc. The quality, however good it is, it is not there. Full frame is way better. I did have canon FF some time ago, then sold everything and went to fuji. Now I'm coming back to canon & looking at sony as well. The only benefit that fuji has, was the small and light form factor. Also their small lenses. I was instantly taking way more photos than with dslr. But that is it. I soon noticed that the IQ is not the same, focusing is ok but bad if you shoot fast moving objects, and the most negative thing for me is their lack of quality lenses. The selection is poor. Maybe am spoiled coming from full frame, but apsc is not worth it. If you can, keep your sony and try fuji as an alternative and see if it works for you.
The one thing I miss coming from a 200D to the X-T4 was losing touch tracking. How is it a 2017 DSLR had more advanced AF than a mirrorless? Oh well.
Try side by side shot and then say which one is better. Trust me, even my XT-1 did better in cases than my 5dmk3 when I need to shoot wide open at f1.2, f1.4.
Brotha, I want to jump into apsc which ecosystem would you go into Fuji or Sony? I’ve been sold on Sony but I want to shoot sports and Fuji has been swaying me due to having better fps. Am I missing something?
Why not to get the XH2 instead the xt5- you enjoy both worlds. ( I own xr1,2,and 3) next camera is the XH2
So have you used any older lenes and seen a big difference vs the newer lens of the same focal length?
Greetings from Greece mate.Been following you a year and a bit more.I was wondering why you Changed from Nikon to Fuji and not any other brand Such as SOny or Canon
Comments on the EVF are nitpicky, overblown, exaggerated. There's no problem with the EVF. For goodness sake, you don't peek and expect to feel you're in the movies in there. It's not a theater, it's a viewfinder!
Im wondering if it's low light photography is not as good as a7r4 or r5, since it's not full frame?
My one regret about the fuji xt5 is no flip screen. Lol I know I’m in the minority from fuji users but I really just wanted a xh2 with fuji dials
Hey Manny, interested to know your thoughts on the AF with the new firmware
I'm confused between xh2, xh2s & xt5 . Tell me which one is better? 🥺
Manny would you go for the XT5 or A7RV?
Sweet bro, great vid. Honest opinions…
Did you have lag when previewing the image? It took mine between 2-3 seconds before the monitor display the image.
People asking for an EVF that would push the price up several hundred dollars... while we're at it, let's ask for a stacked sensor for $999 if we're being unrealistic
What’s the name of the little speed light you were using throughout the video ?
I am shooting food and comparing between canon r8 and Fuji xt5 to upgrade
Do you have any advice?
I just returned the xt5. Autofocus and eye auto detect are still sub par. Imagine quality is noticeably better than the xt4.
what are you getting instead?
