So people with like 380xp can spawn in a jet with bombs. I feel like that's the issue, they're way too cheap. Every battle at around 2 min mark you'll see a plane incoming to bomb somebody. That's not very great for the gameplay. Also a cool thing would be having something similar like naval scout plane feature. Allowing us to switch between spaa and a tank whenever we want. So you see a plane incoming, park your tank somewhere safe, jump to spaa get the plane(or get destroyed) ,and back to your tank (if no one destroyed it). But also I can see people abusing this mechanic... so I'm not sure. Or separate gamemode for tank players only, and leave mixed for everyone who enjoy it. They could allow planes to spawn right from the start. Heck they could add naval vessel as well(that probably would require special created maps), to make it truly mix. But some changes has to be done in my opinion
Perhaps just a limit on the amount of planes that can be in play at any one time. Lets say 2 per team. Once it dies it frees up a spot for another to come in. I hate planes as a tank, but love shooting them down too much to say get rid of them entirely.
I would love a separate game mode for tanks only, but I feel like it wouldn't work sadly. They need to raise the cost of spawning in planes by a huge amount, I'm talking well over 150%. And the bigger bomb load you bring in, the more it costs. I played the VFW today and I was on a 5 kill streak, then a trash revenge bomber comes back and kills me. Dude was so bad he only had one kill, but somehow was able to spawn in a good bomber and kill me. Sad state war thunder is in right now

Then no one would have any reason to play planes (other than just liking Air battles which is probably the minority) and Gaijin would loose a whole trees worth of potential money lol.
I think the best thing about Dollar's content is that it isn't just perfect games and cool kills, he also shows when you get a bad match and you just get screwed (which makes up way more of the actual experience) and he still makes it interesting. I've been enjoying playing the game more myself since watching how he plays.

The plane spam didn't really kick in until roughly two years ago. Before that in most battles you'd see one or two planes in the sky. Then that was it. It basically meant that the people flying at the time knew what they were doing on the ground to efficiently get sp and bring a plane out. Now it's just easy so people spam it.
I don't think it should be that difficult to bring planes in. It would make being an SPAA pretty boring if you only had 1 plane to shoot at all game. But you definitely shouldn't be able to afford a plane after just 1 kill. For a few reasons. 1. It creates plane spam which is annoying. 2. It means that if you aren't a very good pilot and miss a bomb drop you now have spent all your SP and your team has essentially lost a player in the first half of the game. OR you now aimlessly fly around doing not all that much and the opposing team has a numerical advantage on the ground.

But if there was a limit of 2 planes in play per team, like 2 allowed on yours and 2 allowed on the enemies, then you'd have a better chance of survival. Nah, Gaijin made most SPAA better at being a tank destroyer than actual AA. Except for the pure surface to air missile types of the higher tiers, they will always be viable in the current meta. Maybe restricting the number of planes in the air per team is a bit much, but definitely restricting how many each player can field could work. I mean if you spawn in a CAS, (fighter bomber) from then on in that game you have to use a different type, like a dedicated fighter, and that also only once. This might encourage flyers to actually do some air to air, helping teh team instead of just farming easy ground kills. Definitely increase the spawn and repair costs of planes to reflect how much damage they so easily do. Along with only spawning at the airfield. Not half way to the battle, at altitude, and full speed. This may allow the guy who killed the wanna be pilot a chance to fight off any other tanks and relocate, avoiding the revenge bombers. I think increasing the size of the tank spawn area (make it equal to 1/2-2/3rds of the map edge. Allow ground players to chose where they spawn in this larger area will give players spawning a chance to avoid the spawn campers, both ground and air varieties. The number of times I've had a late spawn and been taken out by a plane camping the spawn is ridiculous. Deliberate suicide bombing is also a problem. Planes are so cheap to spawn that a lot just turn them into guided missiles and don't care about the cost.
People who say anti-air is a counter are incorrect. It's too easy for planes to simply avoid the anti-air on the map. Only cocky pilots get shot down by them. And seems like there are three aircraft for every anti-air.
Nearly all low-tier anti-air are also ridiculously easy to kill as a plane. Most are open-topped (or worse, just having guys standing in the open like the anti-air trucks) and even the ones that are fully enclosed tend to have armour that won't hold up to a .50 cal or 20mm from even a shallow dive.
@@HellbirdIV If you are good then you can easly take more than 5 planes with anty air on low tier. The only problem is when there is 3 planes in the air and they cooperate and making attack on you in the same time. If you know how to aim, do not just sit in the spawn.. and you also need to wait for proper moment to open fire(do not give the plane info that you are there before you are ready to finish him) then the open top is not a problem. The mode when you are not fighting against other players is a good way to train you anty air skill, but not on every BR and definitly not on higher BR.

Unless you're a god on AA killing planes with burst, you're going to give clear hint for a plane to avoid if you start to shoot them. And that's the another problem, sometimes you have to trust your teammates to do AA job. At least I'm not playing ground battles to kill some fucking planes. I'm here for damn tanks
@@Bialy_1 The problem with this approach is you're not providing cover for your team, who will be getting shredded while you wait in the shadows for your perfect sneaky shot. And even "hiding" doesn't really hide you from the air. As you can see from the video, SPAA is unable to protect their team even if they eventually get the kill.
Ah yes, the AMX-13 DCA 40. Or as my friends and I call it, "the crew's portable crematorium" as the turret is loaded with 400rds of good ole 40mm that touch off real easy in my experience.
@@DOLLARplays Exactly, the long Bofors is a great multi-purpose gun. Also capable of 'frontally' penetrating a Panther A, D, or F at close range. I love doing that with 37mm and 40mm autocannons, aim just under their gun and your AP will dive through the hull roof.
It‘s just sadly a bad AA. I personaly can be very effective with fast firing guns, but the only real nation that can offer that at low br is germany. I am going to play the btr Zd to find out if it‘s any good, but haven‘t come to fo that yet. America is a total faliure in terms of AA … we need better AAs in geberal.

I played the VFW today and man, it would be an amazing tank if CAS weren't a thing. Sadly the CAS spam makes it almost impossible to play anything open top or lightly armored. You also cant play anything heavy that moves slowly because you wont be able to move away from a bomb. So basically you cant play any tanks at all in GROUND RB. Maybe if they gave us more anti airs with good proxy fuses we would have a better chance, at least that since I know gaijin wont nerf CAS, they make way too much money from it.
Been trying AA, can be quite fun-seems to research parts fast and you get dosh pretty well doo. But god damn I hate how they can keep firing on you as they crash, so they kamikazi you, take out your engines and/or crew and... blargh. What a pain. Going in with the main pack is useful though, you're pehaps less likely to get picked out for a strafing, and more importantly, you can more easily get bombers attacking the caps. Help with caps too, and it can help with the lighter vehicles too, lets the teammates focus on the bigger stuff!

@@benoitbvg2888 I get that, but I think it would benefit if there was a second's grace before you can't keep firing the plane's guns anymore or something. You've surely been there; they come in to dive, you almost immediately get a 'kill' but because their first few shots killed your engine/driver, you get to have the entire dive's worth of bullets, or worse.
The P.7.T kicks all kinds of ass to be honest, as it's only BR 1.3. The M16 is definitely better overall, but in 2.7 it's got plenty of competition from other really good AA and faces far more dangerous ground targets it can't destroy.
@@HellbirdIV M13 is also 1.3 BR and it is much nicer AA... it is also more mobile and your driver cabin is not blocking you ability to shot the gun as much as it is the case in P.7.T. That 14mm guns have nicer punch and more penetration power but in general its much harder to play that vehicle and have fun out of it.
Even with all anti air slots, the insurmountable skill it takes to kill a plane is a monument compared to the puddle of skill it takes for a plane to kill a tank. There are so many issues in favor of planes i can't even begin to count them, a tank only gamemode would be much apreciated by all of pure the tankers like myself. And there are LOTS of us, i think it's to the point that there is a fear that the normal realistic battles gamemode would face longer queue times when not in peak activity. But im CERTAIN, there would always be players willing to play tank only, Tank dueling is FUN, fighting ground to air is not.
@@DOLLARplays Yeah, i had a mate who played with me alot, he played sweeden and was constantly malding because of the ramp strv, the constant bombing was the final nail in the coffin for him.
Same thought here, Planes made the ground mode painful because you will at least lose one tank to air attacks while you are involved in tank duels. That made me leave the game for 2 years only to return and find out it got worse.

Since I see a lot of comments complaining about slower firing SPAAs I'd thought I'd leave a few tips that might help. Set your zero to around 500m, follow the plane with your eyes and not the tracer, when in doubt give more lead, if the enemy plane is pretty damn far away you probably shouldn't waste your ammo unless you wanna bait them. Also, fighters of your own are generally the best counter to CAS, especially in low-mid tier. I would still like to see a cap on plane per team at any one time though (3 per team) cause it would keep people on the ground, avoid SPAA getting ganked on, and allow allied fighters at least a glimmer of hope to get rid of the enemy instead of spawning and getting insta-bonked by 4+ enemy fighters.
Yeah, I usually rock the M16 at ANY BR and get a good amount of anti-air kills. One match getting 6. But as soon as I switch to the bofors of any nation. I can’t hit a single plane. Even if it’s flying right at me.
@@snake45aiman Proxy would be best, a small envelope...maybe 3m. But could just give them a fused air burst which is historically accurate...it's what they did. Or at least could do. Add a setting before deployment like convergence or bomb fuse timers to set 40mm shells to detonate at X-meters with Y-shrapnel radius baked into the munition. Keeps the Bofors firmly in WWII, but also makes it....I dunno...somewhat useful. Still ain't gonna beat .50's or fast 20mm....but will at least suck less.
This week has been a tough one, the loss of my grandma, and university is slowly approaching wich gives me a lot of stress. But everytime I see the notification of Dollar, that stress dissapears I want to thank you dollar, for all the vids, for helping me through dark times. It would help if SPAA before actual FCS would have something more than just luck and blinding muzzle flash to aim with. It is possible to get better with your aim but that's a rather extreme level of practice in comparison to all other types of gunnery in the game + it will only really work for the specific gun one uses most. Edit: Aircraft mouse control and 3rd person camera also makes their attack runs far too easy so there isn't a need to slow down at all, contrary to how real life attack runs would go.
At lower BRs the best anti-air is a good fighter. Most people who fly get tunnel vision for ground targets and don't really know how to fight other aircraft. I usually fly my Yak-9B in ground battles up to 7.3 but I've seriously considered bringing some of my better Yaks and more than one just to keep people out of the sky.
Tips : while you're on the tank and saw cas plane coming and dropped their bombs, quickly press escape and leave vehicle before the bombs detonate.. so they don't get the kills and hopefully they don't have enough point to spawn another vehicle.. i mean there's nothing you can do when cas targeting you with big bombs.. so i rather not giving them point than get killed by cas cancer
Those single barrel 37mm and 40mm SPAAs are incredibly tough to use. They either have a pitiable RoF or almost no ammo. They are intensely frustrating.

I love the Bofors but France could use more anti-air. Examples: AMX VCI with M55 quad mount (quad .50cal) AMX VCI with a 20mm Oerlikon KAD (same gun from R3) AMX VCI with *two* 20mm guns AMX-13 DCA with twin 30mm guns Panhard M3 with one or two 20mm guns ERC-20 Kriss with twin 20mm guns CCKW 353 with 2cm Flakvierling 38 (the Bofors truck seen in the video but with Wirbelwind firepower)

There's a lot of options, and still we have only these. 2 of them are better tank destroys than aa, and that rank 1 is probably best spaa up to 8.0 lol

man going into 7.0+ battle with a 4.3 spaa is pain especially with slow rate of fire guns. Hope to see more spaa for the trees that need it : France obviously, Italy, UK need it aswell, Sweeden too but I don't know if they have any options for that. Also you could have taken the LVT4-40 to get the french derpy spaa Quartet :) I agree on the bomb loaded plane spawn point being maybe too low. CASncer. Spawn points needed should be raised. People cashing in too quickly is a huge problem because it completely changes the ground battle dynamic. It goes from tank v tank into tank v tank while panicking and hiding from giant bombs that kill you behind structures, anyways
Extremely true, imo fighter should be 700, CAS 800 and bomber 900, and then MASSIVE costs for payloads, the full P47 payload should be at least 400 sp, so u need 800 + 400 sp for P47, so 1200 sp. Maybe it should be even higher, cuz it isn't so hard to get 1200 sp
Frankly I think the solution is to give non-radar AA some kind of "rough" lead indicator to help shoot down planes that aren't just diving straight for you. Your sphere of influence as an AA vehicle is just so freaking tiny because of how hard leading targets is.
I feel like u should have something like a mix of naval and arcade ground lead indicator, like u have 20 or 30s of "rangefinding" and then u get indicator like arcade, but if u lose visual contact with plane, u need to rangefind again, another 20 or 30s, probably 20s is more balanced

Well the 13 dca is so outgunned with the arrival of the btr zd for anti air duty. Though I give you that in anti tank role it's amazing I feel like the LVT 40 is a good alternative to the 13 DCA as it has 2x50 cal mounted with the gun and it makes it as strong if not stronger than the 13 DCA in my opinion.

Dollar my friend, you said it yourself! If you can’t beat them, join them. Get into a fighter with beefy guns and melt incoming planes that want to bomb teammates. Light vehicle scouts and then hop into either a heavier fighter or a twin engine. Some good ones are the Fw-190s, J7W2, Typhoon (20mms), p51s (also 20mms), P-38, f-82, bf-110, me-410, A7M2, SM-91/92, and the VB-10s. These planes will not let you down :)

I'm 50 / 50 on planes, there always so fun to fly or to see dog fighting or dive bombin, but also so frustrating when they dive bomb you and then when half the time they slam into the ground :/ I think they should either cost more sp, or only be like 1 allowed with your line up maybe for ground rb with a higher sp cost on top.
If you want a truly fun anti-air experience, I recommend the ZSD63 in the Chinese tree. The high rate of fire of the twin 25mm guns can rip apart planes in no time. They recently reduced reload time from 25 seconds to 13, so its not as vulnerable as before. You just have to shoot with short, contolled bursts to conserve your ammo. Enjoy!
If youre not hitting just lead more until you hit, using the gunners sight and binoculars also helps with determining how far off you are and helps when trying to shoot down an airplane going straight for you
Also it's easier to drop bombs in CAS than in bombers, while bombers need to drop from high height, cuz ull be shot down otherwise, the enemy has plenty of time to run (unless it's pe8 with 5ton), CAS or any plane with a bomb can drop from low height and destroy efficiently any target, wich is cancer when it is revenge, 99% of times
Best anti air I played is by far the Italian Wirbelwind (I don't have high rank vehicles except rank 5 in few nations), AP belts can absolutely shred everything in the air and on the ground. Zis 12 (94 KM) and BTR ZD are also good but recoil makes them rock up and down like a crackhead.

You know what is good AA? Another fighter plane, but focusing only on planes, when you hit first, then they are done. Everybody focusing on ground and dont paying atention to another Air too much. And great video dollar, thank you for your production.

I still use the American M16 at like 6.3-6.7 BR. The four .50cals is just *chef's kiss* for me...and the APIT rounds generally have enough pen you can KO pilots fairly easy and set fires on the planes, plus kills some higher BR light tanks/IFVs

Allow ground players to chose where they spawn in this larger area will give players spawning a chance to avoid the spawn campers, both ground and air varieties. The number of times I've had a late spawn and been taken out by a plane camping the spawn is ridiculous.
Deliberate suicide bombing is also a problem. Planes are so cheap to spawn that a lot just turn them into guided missiles and don't care about the cost.

People who say anti-air is a counter are incorrect. It's too easy for planes to simply avoid the anti-air on the map.
Only cocky pilots get shot down by them. And seems like there are three aircraft for every anti-air.
at the mid range the only true anti air is a fighter plane on your side who plays air RB for fun
Nearly all low-tier anti-air are also ridiculously easy to kill as a plane. Most are open-topped (or worse, just having guys standing in the open like the anti-air trucks) and even the ones that are fully enclosed tend to have armour that won't hold up to a .50 cal or 20mm from even a shallow dive.
@@HellbirdIV If you are good then you can easly take more than 5 planes with anty air on low tier. The only problem is when there is 3 planes in the air and they cooperate and making attack on you in the same time.
If you know how to aim, do not just sit in the spawn.. and you also need to wait for proper moment to open fire(do not give the plane info that you are there before you are ready to finish him) then the open top is not a problem.
The mode when you are not fighting against other players is a good way to train you anty air skill, but not on every BR and definitly not on higher BR.
@@Bialy_1 It's too easy for planes to check area and pick solo targets. Unless you're a god on AA killing planes with burst, you're going to give clear hint for a plane to avoid if you start to shoot them.
And that's the another problem, sometimes you have to trust your teammates to do AA job. At least I'm not playing ground battles to kill some fucking planes. I'm here for damn tanks
@@Bialy_1 The problem with this approach is you're not providing cover for your team, who will be getting shredded while you wait in the shadows for your perfect sneaky shot. And even "hiding" doesn't really hide you from the air. As you can see from the video, SPAA is unable to protect their team even if they eventually get the kill.
Ah yes, the AMX-13 DCA 40. Or as my friends and I call it, "the crew's portable crematorium" as the turret is loaded with 400rds of good ole 40mm that touch off real easy in my experience.

@@DOLLARplays Exactly, the long Bofors is a great multi-purpose gun. Also capable of 'frontally' penetrating a Panther A, D, or F at close range. I love doing that with 37mm and 40mm autocannons, aim just under their gun and your AP will dive through the hull roof.

It‘s just sadly a bad AA. I personaly can be very effective with fast firing guns, but the only real nation that can offer that at low br is germany. I am going to play the btr Zd to find out if it‘s any good, but haven‘t come to fo that yet. America is a total faliure in terms of AA … we need better AAs in geberal.

I played the VFW today and man, it would be an amazing tank if CAS weren't a thing. Sadly the CAS spam makes it almost impossible to play anything open top or lightly armored. You also cant play anything heavy that moves slowly because you wont be able to move away from a bomb. So basically you cant play any tanks at all in GROUND RB. Maybe if they gave us more anti airs with good proxy fuses we would have a better chance, at least that since I know gaijin wont nerf CAS, they make way too much money from it.

Been trying AA, can be quite fun-seems to research parts fast and you get dosh pretty well doo. But god damn I hate how they can keep firing on you as they crash, so they kamikazi you, take out your engines and/or crew and... blargh. What a pain. Going in with the main pack is useful though, you're pehaps less likely to get picked out for a strafing, and more importantly, you can more easily get bombers attacking the caps. Help with caps too, and it can help with the lighter vehicles too, lets the teammates focus on the bigger stuff!
That's because you killed the plane, not the pilot. If he's still shooting at you, shoot at him back while aiming the pilot.

The solution is simple: just don't give the kill until the player is forced to J out or the plane crashes

You've surely been there; they come in to dive, you almost immediately get a 'kill' but because their first few shots killed your engine/driver, you get to have the entire dive's worth of bullets, or worse.

Anti air is the most vulnerable to airplanes and choppers. The targeting in ground RB for air should be more like arcade

Playing that 4x HMG SPAA really makes you realise how good the m16 is.
The P.7.T kicks all kinds of ass to be honest, as it's only BR 1.3.
The M16 is definitely better overall, but in 2.7 it's got plenty of competition from other really good AA and faces far more dangerous ground targets it can't destroy.
@@HellbirdIV M13 is also 1.3 BR and it is much nicer AA... it is also more mobile and your driver cabin is not blocking you ability to shot the gun as much as it is the case in P.7.T.
That 14mm guns have nicer punch and more penetration power but in general its much harder to play that vehicle and have fun out of it.

Even with all anti air slots, the insurmountable skill it takes to kill a plane is a monument compared to the puddle of skill it takes for a plane to kill a tank.
There are so many issues in favor of planes i can't even begin to count them, a tank only gamemode would be much apreciated by all of pure the tankers like myself.
And there are LOTS of us, i think it's to the point that there is a fear that the normal realistic battles gamemode would face longer queue times when not in peak activity. But im CERTAIN, there would always be players willing to play tank only, Tank dueling is FUN, fighting ground to air is not.
I'm sure some people would come back to the game If we would get ground only mode

Same thought here, Planes made the ground mode painful because you will at least lose one tank to air attacks while you are involved in tank duels.
That made me leave the game for 2 years only to return and find out it got worse.

Since I see a lot of comments complaining about slower firing SPAAs I'd thought I'd leave a few tips that might help. Set your zero to around 500m, follow the plane with your eyes and not the tracer, when in doubt give more lead, if the enemy plane is pretty damn far away you probably shouldn't waste your ammo unless you wanna bait them.
Also, fighters of your own are generally the best counter to CAS, especially in low-mid tier. I would still like to see a cap on plane per team at any one time though (3 per team) cause it would keep people on the ground, avoid SPAA getting ganked on, and allow allied fighters at least a glimmer of hope to get rid of the enemy instead of spawning and getting insta-bonked by 4+ enemy fighters.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't hit the broad side of a barn with those damnable Bofors.

Yeah, I usually rock the M16 at ANY BR and get a good amount of anti-air kills. One match getting 6. But as soon as I switch to the bofors of any nation. I can’t hit a single plane. Even if it’s flying right at me.
@@snake45aiman Proxy would be best, a small envelope...maybe 3m. But could just give them a fused air burst which is historically accurate...it's what they did. Or at least could do. Add a setting before deployment like convergence or bomb fuse timers to set 40mm shells to detonate at X-meters with Y-shrapnel radius baked into the munition.
Keeps the Bofors firmly in WWII, but also makes it....I dunno...somewhat useful. Still ain't gonna beat .50's or fast 20mm....but will at least suck less.

It would help if SPAA before actual FCS would have something more than just luck and blinding muzzle flash to aim with. It is possible to get better with your aim but that's a rather extreme level of practice in comparison to all other types of gunnery in the game + it will only really work for the specific gun one uses most.
Edit: Aircraft mouse control and 3rd person camera also makes their attack runs far too easy so there isn't a need to slow down at all, contrary to how real life attack runs would go.
People would hate this idea but honestly planes in GRB should be limited to 1st person view, would make bombing and stuff take actual skill.
At lower BRs the best anti-air is a good fighter. Most people who fly get tunnel vision for ground targets and don't really know how to fight other aircraft. I usually fly my Yak-9B in ground battles up to 7.3 but I've seriously considered bringing some of my better Yaks and more than one just to keep people out of the sky.

Tips : while you're on the tank and saw cas plane coming and dropped their bombs, quickly press escape and leave vehicle before the bombs detonate.. so they don't get the kills and hopefully they don't have enough point to spawn another vehicle.. i mean there's nothing you can do when cas targeting you with big bombs.. so i rather not giving them point than get killed by cas cancer

Those single barrel 37mm and 40mm SPAAs are incredibly tough to use. They either have a pitiable RoF or almost no ammo. They are intensely frustrating.
thats why the only aa that im currently using is the russian 2.7 aa (dont know the name rn)
the biggest cancer is not the plane spam but friendly aircraft spaming need cover while flying as far away from friendly aa as possible.
for me the best anti air is a fighter with decent climb and energy retention

I love the Bofors but France could use more anti-air. Examples:
AMX VCI with M55 quad mount (quad .50cal)
AMX VCI with a 20mm Oerlikon KAD (same gun from R3)
AMX VCI with *two* 20mm guns
AMX-13 DCA with twin 30mm guns
Panhard M3 with one or two 20mm guns
ERC-20 Kriss with twin 20mm guns
CCKW 353 with 2cm Flakvierling 38 (the Bofors truck seen in the video but with Wirbelwind firepower)

we dont need more cold war autocannons at rank 3, we just need three things:
reasonable incentives to target enemy aircraft instead of just focusing selfishly on ground kills
some kind of warning that yells at the low IQ players who dont even try to lead the target
crew skill based lead indicator at close range
It would also help if you could actually hear planes diving on you and tell the difference between an engine just over the trees and one way above. the amount of times vehiclrs just go silent because gaijin decided to be lazy and have every gun and engine sound be composed of multiple samples playing independently using multiple audio channels. any time there are more than a dozen engines around you they start cutting out because the game engine cant handle all the necessary concurrent channels. braindead game design
There's a lot of options, and still we have only these. 2 of them are better tank destroys than aa, and that rank 1 is probably best spaa up to 8.0 lol

man going into 7.0+ battle with a 4.3 spaa is pain especially with slow rate of fire guns. Hope to see more spaa for the trees that need it : France obviously, Italy, UK need it aswell, Sweeden too but I don't know if they have any options for that.

I agree on the bomb loaded plane spawn point being maybe too low. Someone thought of a limitation of planes in the air per team (like in arcade) it could be nice

CASncer. Spawn points needed should be raised. People cashing in too quickly is a huge problem because it completely changes the ground battle dynamic. It goes from tank v tank into tank v tank while panicking and hiding from giant bombs that kill you behind structures, anyways
Extremely true, imo fighter should be 700, CAS 800 and bomber 900, and then MASSIVE costs for payloads, the full P47 payload should be at least 400 sp, so u need 800 + 400 sp for P47, so 1200 sp. Maybe it should be even higher, cuz it isn't so hard to get 1200 sp

I’ve always hated how difficult it is to actually hit a plane with AA in this game, compared to how easy it is to kill an AA with a plane.
More like how it is hard to kill planes with any ground vehicle compared with how easily a plane kills any ground target
Frankly I think the solution is to give non-radar AA some kind of "rough" lead indicator to help shoot down planes that aren't just diving straight for you. Your sphere of influence as an AA vehicle is just so freaking tiny because of how hard leading targets is.
I feel like u should have something like a mix of naval and arcade ground lead indicator, like u have 20 or 30s of "rangefinding" and then u get indicator like arcade, but if u lose visual contact with plane, u need to rangefind again, another 20 or 30s, probably 20s is more balanced

Dollar my friend, you said it yourself! If you can’t beat them, join them. Get into a fighter with beefy guns and melt incoming planes that want to bomb teammates. Light vehicle scouts and then hop into either a heavier fighter or a twin engine. Some good ones are the Fw-190s, J7W2, Typhoon (20mms), p51s (also 20mms), P-38, f-82, bf-110, me-410, A7M2, SM-91/92, and the VB-10s. These planes will not let you down :)

I'm 50 / 50 on planes, there always so fun to fly or to see dog fighting or dive bombin, but also so frustrating when they dive bomb you and then when half the time they slam into the ground :/ I think they should either cost more sp, or only be like 1 allowed with your line up maybe for ground rb with a higher sp cost on top.
I also had a thought, alot of the bombs end up in spawn, maybe a longer spawn protection specifically against bombs and plane cannons would help.
If you want a truly fun anti-air experience, I recommend the ZSD63 in the Chinese tree. The high rate of fire of the twin 25mm guns can rip apart planes in no time. They recently reduced reload time from 25 seconds to 13, so its not as vulnerable as before. You just have to shoot with short, contolled bursts to conserve your ammo. Enjoy!
If youre not hitting just lead more until you hit, using the gunners sight and binoculars also helps with determining how far off you are and helps when trying to shoot down an airplane going straight for you

I think the main problem is how easy it is to drop a bomb. Especially with bombers like pe8
Just increase spawn cost, fixed pretty easily, only actual good players who get some kills will be able to spawn it
Also it's easier to drop bombs in CAS than in bombers, while bombers need to drop from high height, cuz ull be shot down otherwise, the enemy has plenty of time to run (unless it's pe8 with 5ton), CAS or any plane with a bomb can drop from low height and destroy efficiently any target, wich is cancer when it is revenge, 99% of times
Best anti air I played is by far the Italian Wirbelwind (I don't have high rank vehicles except rank 5 in few nations), AP belts can absolutely shred everything in the air and on the ground. Zis 12 (94 KM) and BTR ZD are also good but recoil makes them rock up and down like a crackhead.

You know what is good AA? Another fighter plane, but focusing only on planes, when you hit first, then they are done. Everybody focusing on ground and dont paying atention to another Air too much. And great video dollar, thank you for your production.

I still use the American M16 at like 6.3-6.7 BR. The four .50cals is just *chef's kiss* for me...and the APIT rounds generally have enough pen you can KO pilots fairly easy and set fires on the planes, plus kills some higher BR light tanks/IFVs
The "ring and bead" custom AAA sights are very useful in figuring the lead on planes.
