    There's a mistake in the video. I forgot to lock the mem timings so the RAM is at 17-15-15 instead of 14-15-15. Also I plan to do a follow up using fixed Vcore instead of override Vcore just for comparison purposes.

      Thank you....I have the Gigabyte Z490 Ultra and a 10700K and your videos have really helped...especially on Override vcore! Oh and all your vids are great as a long time viewer! Managed to get 5.1GHz all core at 1.290v Override vcore with a Normal LLC. I have not done the most testing as it has only passed CinebenchR20 10 runs, and Prime95 for 30 minutes but as I am primarily using for gaming and some editing the CPU has been more than stable and the temps are great as I have the great Arctic Freezer II 360mm AIO in push pull which I have to admit is immense...Once again thanks for the great work....

      I was kinda sulking that I couldn't get my 10700K to 5.2GHz at a safe voltage. On my Z490 Aorus Elite I found Fixed Vcore with Turbo LLC worked best. I'm at 5.1GHz 48x Ring with 1.34V but I haven't done a ton of stability testing. When I tried Override with Standard LLC @1.35V I think I saw my VR VOUT reading 1.45V so I stopped.

    • @vMaxHeadroom
      @vMaxHeadroom 4 года назад +2

      @@PenisStomper Not bad at all and I am sure with a bit more work you might be able to get vcore a tiny bit lower on the 5.1GHz but you have a really good ring ratio at 48...mines 5.1GHz with a 47 GHZ though 1.290v....5.2GHz required way too much vcore for my liking so sticking to 5.1GHz...

    • @PenisStomper
      @PenisStomper 4 года назад +2

      @@vMaxHeadroom Nice that's a great voltage for 5.1GHz. Yeah I was lower on mine but when I was playing Detroit: Become Human I was crashing randomly until I'd bumped it to 1.34V. Kinda weird because it was fine in the stability testing I'd done but it's been rock solid since in everything I've thrown at it so I'm not too bothered.

    These videos have been very helpful for overclocking my new 10600K. So far have managed 5GHz at 1.35V (socket sense), with a 4.7GHz ring and 4000/16-21-21-38 at 1.5V with a 2x16 Rev.E kit (just a cheap 3200 CL16 one) on an MSI Gaming Edge Wifi. Apparently all be stable, as it's passed Linpack Xtreme, Prime95, Memtest and RealBench (plus just general use, gaming and such). According to Silicon Lottery's stats I actually managed to get an above average chip for once. The 10600K seems to generally be trash silicon judging by their numbers, which I guess makes sense as it'd be a 10700K or 10900K if it wasn't.

    My 10700K sits at 5.1ghz all core at max of 1.35v under load on adaptive voltage with - Offset. Idles at like 1.0v. Tried to get 5.2ghz but it needs like 1.45v and even then it doesn't stay completely stable. So 5.1ghz seems to be the most common mark that Intel binned the 10700K for.

    My overclock experience with the i7-9700k and Z390 aorus master was painful. Just because I had to accept I had lost the silicon lottery. xD
    The results:
    4.9GHz core, fixed 1.350V vcore, Turbo LLC = fail
    4.8GHz core, fixed 1.300V vcore, Turbo LLC = fail
    4.7GHz core, 4.4GHz cache, fixed 1.260V vcore, Turbo LLC = pass
    I'm assuming because the transient response I found Auto vcore with offset and Auto LLC to be more stable than the fixed vcore and turbo LLC. I was able to get 4.9GHz all cores and 4.6GHz cache running at similar VROUT readings as the 1.350V fixed vcore turbo LLC + for some reason the chip was running around 5°C cooler as well.

      Try lower llc and higher voltage. My 6700k barely runs 4.7 with 4 out of 7LLC 1.325V but I can run 4.8 with 2 out of 7LLC and 1.355V and load voltage difference is less than 10mV. But that does seem like a bad chip ..

  • @PolskiJaszczomb
    @PolskiJaszczomb 4 года назад

    Those +12V and +5V readings are really off the shelf. Dunno if that's a Gigabytes motherboard trademark or something but I'd never yet encountered such wildly behaving +12V on Asus or MSI boards, they just sit at 11.98-12.02V, and that's also read by a multimeter. And there's Gigabyte that dips +12V line to 11.6V under load.
    Also, Artic F fans are mediocre for a radiator, swap them for their P series, your temps will decrease even further.

      5.1GHz and 46cache is stable so for at an easy 1.33v.
      Just seems like a huge jump in voltage to get 5.2GHz stable. 5.3GHz min voltage to boot is 1.395. Makes using droopy LLC intimidating.
      I’m also wondering if there’s any benefits outside of power savings using turbo ratio instead of fixed core.

After comparing my numbers to many others, I think I may have slightly won the silicone lottery with my CPU, but that doesn't change the fact that the NH-D15 is a very potent cooler. Many people undervolt the CPU for lower temps, but I was happy with my benchmarks & Temps so I never bothered pushing clocks or volts further. I had swapped the fan to Noctua's 140mm Industrial PPC 3000rpm unit and added the chromax shrouds, but I've been told that shouldn't make more than a couple degrees difference. All of this was done with the thermal paste that Noctua included with my cooler, by the way.

    And my 5.3ghz HT OFF oc for just gaming (not small fft ABX2 stable), I can do large avx2 stable at 1.38 override standard, or 1.36 override medium.

    What would you or other recommend for testing IO/SA voltage. in my OC comunity we do Prime with 768k ffts. crashes in 4 minutes or so if its too low. also helps with vcore after ram OC. although you would test max heat and so after adjusting.

    • @Specialist7
      @Specialist7 4 года назад

      Many factors come into play if you try to do it all at once, it's best to test one at a time to see what each one is capable of. Buildzoid had a previous video explaining where each voltage is mostly applied to. For me personally if I'm not going super high frequencies followed by tight timings then I won't set sa/io at high voltages, some people like to set and forget but that may add more temps and stability issues.
      After I got my core frequency stability I went for unicore which actually needed more vcore but a high io gave me instabilities. Now not from linpack or realbench but from hwinfo showing me errors. After backing it down it was fine. I have 32gb (16x2) bdies (dr) so they're a little bit more of a challenge than 16gb kits but frequency/unicore test I just ran linpack and real bench for a few hours and had hwinfo monitoring for errors. Ram oc I had ram test (karhu) run for several hours/over night and well to determine OC which I got to a decent 3600CL15 on 32gb.
      I might test out override again as I didn't do standard LLC but atm my fixed 1.275V (1.246 avg) 50/47 3600cl15 1.20/1.15 sa/io has been super solid in gaming and use even played ffxv maxed out without crashing one bit and that game uses crazy ram if you let it (tram highest) I saw it going 26gb ram use. But super solid. So for me linpack/realbench/w hwinfo for errors and ram test (worth paying imo).

      @@Specialist7 yea i test with Karhu too. Need over 1.3V IO/SA if i go to 16-18-18 1.5V on 4300MHz so i was wondering if there where other tests.
      I try to stabilize it for GSAT (google stress app test or so) with the skew (asus for ODTs and slopes + slope offsets). Kinda sucks for 4300 so i might need to go back to 4266. A friend of mine is deep into that shit and even worls on the Bit Lanes. But i dont like to waist my time on 8 Timings per RANK where you can only have all of the applied at the same time. Only to realise that they shift with temperatur.
      But it seems as good with performance as the others do with 4600 17 17 17 so i keep going. Cant go back to the 0805 bios because of the KS so iam stuck on ether 1302 or 1502.
