@@CaptainCandycorn Yep, after about 4 hours of playing around I got 5.1 all core with 1.215 and is stable for anything I throw at it. 1.3 is pretty high and if I did 1.3 I could get 5.2 but temps were too high and not worth the performance boost over 5.1.
@CaptainCandycorn agree but some 10700k don't have the best silicone. I have one that I can barely push above 4.9 without crashing. I will be following this video and see if I can actually get it to work at 5 or 5.1 but I'm not to confident about it.
What's the purpose of applying the CPU Game Boost? Don't you end up changing most of the settings it applies? Also should Intel Turbo Max Boost Technology 3.0 be disabled as well?

that's the silicon lottery - some can, some can't. I ran mine at 5GHz all cores for a while but found it to be unstable. I run 4.9GHz all cores now and she hums!

Do you know why PCH voltage isn't located in this motherboard's bios? In the user manual, it says the PCH voltage is in the bios but it clearly isn't after further inspection.

Not really. If I don't set a limit, it will not take much thereafter to thermal throttle. When that happens, cores will either downclock to base, or crash

I used and applied these settings and while these are great, I guess the only issue that I have personally is the fact that the CPU is always at 4.9GHz which (may) decrease the life span of the CPU but I could be wrong. Any comment on this?
There's always a chance with overclocking. Keep in mind 4.9GHz is a mild overclock. As long as you don't have high CPU temps on a daily basis, don't apply too much voltage and have half decent cooling, that should mitigate some/most of the risk.
@@Davefinito I'm currently locked in on a very stable overclock of 4.9 @ 1.3v with idle temps of 33-38c and gaming temps of usually under 50c and when I'm on intensive games such as Cyberpunk, I'll get about 60c? So all in all, very stable. Still have that worry, but I'm going to stick with it for now, thanks man.

I keep running into an issue while testing with these exact settings in the video. I have an i7 10700k on an MSI MAG Tomahawk z490 with 16gb of patriot viper clocked to 3733mhz. The error I get is Hardware failure detected running 192k FFT size. Fatal error: result was 00000000 expected: E3CA2ED9 8 minutes into the test. Any ideas?

It won't be running at 4.9GHz all the time at idle. There's a Windows registry command line that you could use to do that. But you can have mixed results - not to mention possible decrease in CPU life.

Secondly, I did prime95 and was hitting 100c so i closed it after a min or 2. I have a pretty good aio (arctic liquid freezer 2 280) so im not sure whats wrong. Maybe i should reseat the cooler?
What’s the temp at idle? A couple things/Check your LLC settings. Try to lower it to L3 or 4 if it’s at a higher level eg. L6. You don’t need to run prime95 beyond 10 minutes. You may not need to reseat if the idle temps are good.

Idk if you still reply to these but I'm getting 95c max on small ffts in p95 with disabling avx. I know you have a higher binned cpu but is yours delid? Also 8 have my aio mounted properly and it's a cooler master 240l. I only really use this for gaming so is just using the default clock on my cpu more efficient at this point as the boost goes to 4.8 anyways?

A 10700KF is the same as a K except no iGPU. Some KFs have better BIN.

I just OC my 10700k at 4.9GHz with 1.304v and I got max. temperature 78º with Cinebench R23.

Lol when you showed that card it took me back.. I had an awesome GTX 980 galax HOF edition with a mark S Asus mobo with a i7 4790k. It was a beast.

If you can get it stable, yes. You don’t want to go above 1.41v. The lower the voltage, the cooler the max temps will be.

In my config, I use it mainly to shut down C-State and power management. Performance gains, if any are minimal.

I don’t know why it’s not displayed. Maybe check with MSI to see if they can provide an explanation?

I did this and mine runs at 4,7ghz idle and when I start the test it goes down to 3.8ghz and stays there while I test why is that happening?

With the 10700k, usually this is with the first core.

no 3.7 is stock no boost, standard tuning with intel boost that goes to 4.7 would be way better than a oc of 4 ghz

Followed your instructions to a tee, but when my cpu is pinned at 100% it locks at 4.78 ghz. max core temp is 54c. any ideas?
If it's instantly 4.78GHz, then something else is set. Windows task manager doesn't usually report the exact value, so I suspect it's 4.8Ghz.

Find the right balance with load line calibration. The higher the value or mode, the higher the temp. But you want it stable.
