- If you're wanting a quick guide to overclocking your i7 - i9 processor on an ASUS z390 chipset based Motherboard, this is the video for you.
In this video I go through the settings I'm running for a quick and easy Overclock that should be stable for most people for the majority of 8th and 9th gen Intel CPUs such as the 8700K / 8086K / 9700K / 9900K. The video also explains what all the various settings mean at a overview level, including ASUS Multicore Enhancement, SVID, VCORE, VCCIO, VCCSA, BCLK, Load Line Calibration, etc.
I will be creating a more detailed overclocking series in the coming weeks and months where I will go into the fundamentals of overclocking and what all the settings mean in more detail to help you fine tune your system for the maximum overclock.
Grab your 8700K HERE: amzn.to/2Nqzo9e
Prefer an 8086K? Grab that HERE: amzn.to/2IYyVHU

Best guy on youtube for the newest intel chips and motherboard chipsets, so detailed and informative. Thumbs up 10/10!
Thanks mate. Doing my best. It’s hard when I have to buy everything after release! And the big guys get everything for free pre-release. Appreciate the positive vibes.
Absolutely Mate us Aussie do ok when it comes to tech😀
Will this work with MSI as you never did a guild for MSI... Only gigabtye and Asus sadly. The prime a was a bad Mobo for me
@@boostedmedia sorry mate, like your video, overall ... but an i7 9700K WILL NOT be stable with 1.29v for 5ghz!!! It would also be nice if you will show some OC for improved performance but temp control ... I had to put 1.35v to get stable 5 ghz at the cpu touch 85 at full load which is still ok and far from the 100 that will cause throttle but I would like to find some settings to have max 80 full load going maybe at 4.9 or even lower ... I tried to change your settings but did not really work ... do not know
This is better than anything I've seen from any of the million sub PC RUclipsrs.
Thanks mate. Doing my best.
Finally! All the others I came acros were crap, this one is golden! And well explained too!
He did this in 1 take... great job

Wow a video actually explaining what does what inside the bios for overclocking. Great video mate. Got 5.0ghz at 1.295 on my 8700k from watching your video!
I used to be a self-proclaimed computer geek... until I saw this video.
Your knowledge is just on another level. I learned a lot!
Lol. Not a competition mate. I’ve been doing this a very long time ;)
@@boostedmedia Have you used the "Asus Intel Extreme Tuning Utility" to adjust overclock settings? (It's a tool found in the list of drivers/utilities in this motherboard's support site) I'm wondering if there's any benefit to using this tool or any other overclocking software over using the BIOS settings only.
No way. Never use windows software to overclock :)
Excellent...thank you so much from someone who hasn't overclocked since my i5-750 almost 10 years ago!
You’re welcome :)
Thanks for the detailed video. I used these settings and received a bluescreen during stress tests. Changed my core ratio to 49 and it seems to be finally stable. Thanks again!
Thank you for taking the time to make an in depth and detailed guide. Much appreciated.
You’re welcome. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
This is the perfect video that i was looking for!
I gained 30 FPS coz of you my pc kept crashing with the default clock on warzone every time it started with cpu temps hitting 100! Now it’s sat at 60 in game. Thank you!
Excellent! You’re welcome!
This video really helped me out. I was frustrated and ready to return the motherboard. Now the system is stable. ASUS needs to make overclocking much easier like MSI. MSI uses a one click overclock button that changes all the settings, and it's perfectly stable.
Thank you for actually explaining what each of the settings actually mean and how they function. There were others showing what settings to have but didn’t explain at all what they were actually modifying which made me very very hesitant to change anything.
Thanks. I gave up on doing these videos because of the number of idiots just wanting to copy settings and throwing abuse when it doesn’t work. So nice to hear from someone who actually wants to learn.
I can't thank you enough man. The MCE default settings were adding some instability to my build and I couldn't understand why until I watched your video. Now I'm at a very stable 5GHz and it's allowed my 3080 Ti to run at 99% with games running beautifully.
Great to see a fellow Aussie too, keep up the great work!
What parts of this got you to a reliable 5 GHz and 99% on the 3080 TI? Right now I'm just running a multiplier of 47 to get a stable 4.7 GHz (that's what I could run stable before I upgraded cooling and upgraded my video card from a 1080 GTX) I also boosted the RAM to 32 GB and the motherboard wants to runt XMP I for the profile. Did you follow all steps or were there some that made the difference? 9700K for me
Right now I'm getting to 94.6 % load on the GPU
I did all of this and now I am getting the BSoD. This is my first time ever overclocking and I'm new to PC's. But I did everything exactly as shown here. I have the i7-9700k and ASUS Prime z390 mobo.
I did exactly what he’s done and mine is fairly stable, need to run a few tests but has not BSoD yet.
My friend! This video is "PURE GOLD!" I have the ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero Z390 Motherboard with the 9900K chip and was getting a BSOD 1 or 2x's./day when using the ASUS auto AI overclocker... On boot up it was showing 44% overclocked which was 5.2Ghz (200Mhz) too high. Using your manual 5.0Ghz OC settings, my system hasn't had a BSOD one time! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
love your work mate ! sometimes is very hard to follow because my english is not that good but most of the time I understand everything. your work helps people, we are grateful!
Thank you for the kind comment. People like you are why I keep making videos. :)
This helped me out a lot, as this board uses a lot of non-standard names for things that should be simple.
Calling your clock settings "AI Tweaker" makes me ignore that menu altogether, especially when there's a process to go through to enable it initially. Now I can actually set up my stuff. Also thankful for the stuff I should be aware of. Great video.
Well explained! Was able to figure out the best optimal settings (to my likings) on my i5 8600k. Thank you. I am a noob but now I feel like I have a basic understanding now on what has to be done
worked perfectly to get my i7 9700k to 5 ghz around 65c. I could probably go further, but there is no reason. I can run 1440p ultra settings on 99% of games(only ones that are terribly optimized I have trouble) and that's all I'm really looking for
Zer0Hour17 what DRAM voltage do you use for your 5GHz overclock on your i7 9700k?
Thanks! after a bsod, I changed 1.290v to 1.315v on my 9900k with a Tuf Z390 Gaming Pro and I have a stable 5.0GHz OC, I’ve run cinebench r20 and prime95 without bsod, and with a max temp of 76c without thermal throttling 👍
Your videos (the tutorials, at least) are informative and well-structured - and you're also articulate and clearly comprehensible in your explanations of everything. You've earned a new sub - also from Australia! 👊😊🦘
Hey man great Video!!!! Thank you for taking the time to explain everything to us here in wonderland. I am a noob to this stuff and just by watching this video I learned so much, I subscribed and will be letting my friends who also are getting into pc gaming about your Channel man.
Again thanks!!
I did exactly what the way you said it. Did stress test for about 4 hours and no issues. Thank you. My i9 works at 32c on idle and 65c on full load. Perfect.
Finally, an Aussie tech guy! Yew beauty!
Check out "Hardware Unboxed" as well. TechYesCity as well.
this was a great video. helped me to overclock for the first time on my i5 9600k
By far the best OC guide and explanation online.
Thanks very much.
Thank you so much man. This helped me so much. I was getting insanely high temps on this motherboard and didn't know why. This fixed my problem
This is by far the best and most explanatory overclocking tutorial I’ve ever found. Thanks so much mate!
Awesome walk through, really appreciate the beginner/ intermediate level understanding here. Helped me a ton. Liked and subbed!
Hey, thanks to your video I've stabled my 9700k to 5.0GHz at 1.288V and I'm loving it :)
Did you lose fps on benchmarks?
Thanks a lot, I followed your instructions for my 9700k and had no issues.
This is just so god damn informative. You might want to teach Linus, Jay and Co a little bit about how to do proper tutorials. Thanks a lot!
Edit - btw I can't seem to find any links to your more detailed guide on stability/oc - are those on your own homepage? Wouldn't even mind paying something for that.
Thanks very much for the kind words. The stability guide is here: ruclips.net/video/pgOzKwAMvjc/видео.html
I didn’t end up doing the overclocking fundamentals video series because frankly I got so sick of people asking questions without watch and digesting these videos properly.
The majority of people Jsut want to copy someone else’s settings without understanding what they do and then complain when it doesn’t work and expect me to help. I simply don’t have the time to deal with that.
@@boostedmedia Understandable. Thanks for the extensive answer!
They are about selling products, not really technical information...
Thank you so much for this guide! I've just built my own rig for the first time and I'm sitting at 5.1 GHz at 1.29v. Might have to tweak it slightly when I start doing some stress testing, but very happy so far. I'm running an i7 9700k with hero xi maximus board and an H115i cooler.
Hey bro, i got a 9700k with h115i on asus z390a. I was able to get it only to 4.8Ghz at 1.295v. Mind sharing ur settings?
@@matixitam1 maybe you've got a bad cpu which can't hold 5GHz at thouse settings.
By far the most helpfull and comprehensive overclocking guide that i have used dozens of times on my own pc
I never write comments on youtube, but this one deserves it!
Thanks a lot for a great guide dude!
Great explaination, well balanced and highly informative
Excellent guide as always. Would love a gigabyte Z390 OC guide for 9700k!
Great video man, thanks for explaining what each part does!
BROOO THANK YOU!!! IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR MONTHS NOW ON A GOOD O.C. GUIDE!
THAAAANK U!!!
Saved me so much time thank you so much. Your the only person that can talk fast and inform at the same time.
I followed your exact directions for my 9700k, and was able to go up to 5.2ghz @ 1.30v maintaining 45c with a Nzxt Kraken X62. Thanks!
Cinebench R15 results:
OpenGL 160.34 fps
CPU 1639 cb
That’s an awesome result!
Boosted Media thank you. I tried going to 5.3ghz but it crashed. I went up to 1.32v and still crashed so I put it back to 1.30v and 5.2ghz. If I want to keep going up what do I have to increase other than cpu voltage?
You’ve probably hit the brick wall. Will likely just need more vcore.
Boosted Media just bumped it up to 1.35v @5.3ghz. No crashes and is stable but OpenGL on cinebench is now showing 1-2 less fps.
Sometimes at the upper limit some errors occur that lower your performance even though it doesn’t crash. Could try going up to 1.36V as long as temps are ok.
Would've loved to have seen the same type of video with an i7-9700k specifically in your MoBo's CPU socket. That said, I still really appreciate you taking the time to put together _basic_ overclock videos like this. They're VERY helpful to folks whom are less experienced with Overclocking (like myself) and that's an awesome thing because nobody wants to accidentally damage their shiny new hardware when all they were trying to do was maximize its performance, and in all that excitement maybe got a little overzealous with settings they didn't understand ;P
Thank you, and I hope to see a similar video where you do the same thing but with an i7-9700k _in_ your MoBo at the time!
This works fine for 9700k just did it
@@NORMAND021otta tweak the voltage a little bit but ye

Thank you for this guide. You do an amazing job of explaining each feature in the Asus bios as it pertains to overclocking. Asus should cut you a check sir. I think with updated bios, going to 1.6v for the CPU with 5ghz clock is easily achieved, with far lower temps. Thanks for the great info.
Thanks a lot for the kind words :)
Awesome video man, I used this as a base guide for my 9700k and got great results and spent hours last night stability testing and I'm super happy with the oc, good job man, be good to see more tech videos to
What settings do you have for your OC?
what settings did you use?
Yeah, wat settings u use?
I have now 4,5 on i7 9700k
Best step by step overclocking vid with details on each function in the bios. Thanks.
Ah, dang, followed these steps for a 9700k, windows blue screened, and now it's stuck on "preparing automatic repair."
I hope my PC isn't bricked
Thank you so much. I am going to use this as my baseline for my 9700k on my Formula XI cooled by a 360mm rad
Really awesome video. You helped me achieve my first stable overclock.
With the Help of this video i overclocked my i7-8700k on a z390-E to 4.7 ghz and now i can enjoy Cyberpunk on a stable framerate - Thank you very much! Awsome video!
Read what is that XMP I and XMP II.
XMP I - Load the DIMM default XMP memory timing optimized by ASUS.
XMP II - Load the DIMM complete default XMP profile.
Which one to use then?
Great video! Will be trying this out on my ROG i7-9700K soon.
How'd it go? I have the same setup with an aftermarket air cooler and am going to give it a go.
Worked perfectly for me
Should've seen this video 5 years earlier! Thanks a lot. First signs are very good, let's do some stability checks.
Thanks for a tutorial I've been able to OC my 9700k to 5ghz on 1.31ghz and after 4hours in OCCT it sitting around 65 celsius and no errors :)
You mind telling me what cooler you're using??
PlagasX Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280
Dude, you’re freaking awesome. I was using Asus auto-overclock function and my voltages were way too high (1.45) and I think causing shutdown reboot issues. This worked great and voltage is now staying at 1.28 with 5Ghz and a little cooler of course. Is that silicon quality actual too? Mine said 55%. Thanks again.
I wouldn’t pay too much attention to the silicon quality reading. It’s just working off crude averages. Glad the video helped :)
Also, I think they removed that feature with a firmware update... guess it wasn't reliable?
Thanks very good tuto.
Rog strix z390-f + 9700k@5ghz very stable 👌👍
Same here just did it lol
Thanks a lot for this easy simple tutorial ❤
Great video mate.I recently bought a 9900k with a Gigabyte z390 Master and found this very useful.Overclocked to 5 ghz on custom water cooling.
my current capability only goes to 140% with the same motherboard? any reason why?
Mine does the same, no idea why
I wish you had videos on amd overclocking as well.
Channel isn’t big enough to be able to afford to just buy every processor unfortunately.
I like your "technical-human" empathy and your assessment of things! Thank you!
This video is wow 😳 thanks for taking the time man. As a beginning streamer, this should definitely help everything!
Hey @Boosted Media , so i have tried everything i learned from that and also other videos, but i cant get my i9 9900k running at 5 Ghz.
Short System Overview: BeQuiet Dark Base 900 (3 Fans), Asus Prime Z390-P ( i know its not the best MB for the i9 ) , 2x8Gb rated 4266mhz Trident Z Rgb , Dark Power Pro 1000W Platinum, Vega 64 Nitro+ , i9 9900k, Corsair H150i Pro Water Loop.
My RAM is rated on 4266mhz (same for this MB), but the maximum i can run with simple overclocking is 3800mhz stable.
At first i went with all your settings, which let me boot and do basic stuff, but as soon as i start a cinebench run it freezes and shuts down on the first render square thing.
I then tried to go up in Voltage to 1.32V, and went down with Clockspeed to 4.8Ghz in single steps each. That worked, but had me worried about the CPU temps at around 90-100°C spreaded across all cores.
Now, i know i could go even further in Voltage, but my cpu reaches 90°C+ way too quickly even on 4.8ghz, so 5Ghz, is like unimaginable right now.
I remember, when i bought the CPU a year ago, i could just load that 5ghz Profile from Intel, and it ran without beeing too hot, maybe like 85°C. Which is alot yes, but now hitting 100°C on 4.8Ghz with 1.32V is not normal i dare to say. The fan and pump speeds are on maximum and i also renewed the thermal paste a few months ago, yet it doesnt really help. Idk, if the CPU got damaged over the past year or so, or if its a setting thing, but even then... i don't understand why its so massively unstable.
Do u think its the Motherboard, just beeing too low speced for the i9? Maybe i need a new Board, but would a new Board really lower temps by 20-30°C? I see alot of ppl running 5Ghz on 70°C even with a little worse cooler options.
Thanks for the Video though, but im sad i cant use it with my Setup(??)
Did you ever get it figured out??
@@AvnerRosenstein-ULTRA-LXV Hey, yes as soon as i switched to a better Mainboard (Asus Maximus XI Apex in my case) the cpu ran instantly 10-20°C cooler and now i'm actually daily using it at 5.1 Ghz at 1.37V and AVX drop Set to just 1. No overheating or throttling even in Benchmarks . Cinebench R10 can get 5159 Points, but i dont remember the version TLDR; Asus Prime is actually the worst Mainboard You can buy for Heat Management.
@@Dan98123 I actually have an Asus Prime Z390-A. Had no idea on the heat issue lol. Do you think it's because you had the P model? What's interesting is I can get to 5.1ghz with certain things enabled like the auto stuff on voltage etc. However, I cannot get a stable 5.0ghz when I do everything manually. Right now I'm 4.9ghz with:
VCCIO@1.0v
System Agent@1.0v
Vcore@1.25v
PCH@1.0
AVX is at 0
What's interesting is my temps with this setup are way cooler than stock ASUS profiles. Idle is like 32c and load no more than 55-60c and even under some loads it never goes to 55c. I still have a difficult time accepting that I can get 4.9ghz stable with only 1.25v....yet 1.35v for 5ghz won't work lol.
As for the 5.0ghz problem I'm having...I have no idea how to configure things so it's stable...I've tried most things I think. I have went up to 1.35v on the vcore and 1.2v for both system agent and vccio. I have not tried an AVX offset though. Thank you for the swift reply!

Thanks for the video. I used your settings for my 9900k and It's super stable, paired with my 3080 my computer runs great
This video is awesome... I did some research, but ended up copying your exact settings (identical hardware) and its very stable @ 5.0ghz. I knocked my 3000mhz ram up to 3400mhz as well and ended up scoring a 9833 in 3DMark, which is massive! Previously, with different OC settings at 4.9ghz, I scored a 9349. Your optimization settings were wayyyy better than what I previously had. I'd also like to point out that updating to the latest bios update on my z390 from last month also improved my OC stability and increased my score by almost 10% alone! Temps are also wicked good considering the OC, but note that I'm running a Corsair dual radiator AIO cooler. Thanks for this video!

Hey I have an i7 9700k, idle temps around 39-45, spikes to 60 randomly i dont know why. Also my max temp appears to be around 85. Are these normal?
Also its oc to 4.8ghz at 1.29v
Yep normal.
@@boostedmedia great! Thank you!
@@CocoNick just to clarify 85c isn't a normal temp that's to high for normal use gaming or whatever no matter what the condition is via room temp the whole ''hey whats your ambient room temp'' oh thats why.. just not relivent and is cliche. number one you need to make sure your heat sink is seated properly and is a adequate cpu cooler, two being that you didnt apply to much thermal past and didnt do a spread method which can cause a uneven surface for heat transfer due to air pockets between the cpu and heat sink from my experience less is better and just a small dot in the middle is good and then let it work over time and you'll see better results in most cases. its different for everybody. been building computes maintaining them repairing them so on and so fourth for over 13 years. i got the same cpu the 9700k also at 4.8 not 4.9 which is its recommended overclock nothing beyond that, but mine iv'e seen idles 23c at times or mid 25c . and hardly wants to go over 58c 60 degree celcius most times and only ever reaching 65c max after countless hours more than 8 hours of use whether is gaming while running other programs in the background. also you dont need to manually overclock you cpu to 4.8 as it automatically turbos to 4.6ghz to 4.8ghz depending on the scenario.
i had the same problem with overheating i solved it with a closed loop water cooler corsiars h100x this is the cheaper version with no silly lights and works amazing a great buy at £70 and my idle temps are 20 and full load around 55-60 so much better @@Greg-qs2jp
did a really late upgrade this year and now watching overclocking guides, this was great but im wondering if i need more cooling, i have a hyper 212evo and im just not sure if doing this to a 9700k will make a mess of things. If someone out there knows it would be cool to have a step in a better direction
I know this is a late reply. But, yes, you need better cooling. Those Hyper 212s were great bang for the buck and worked well for the 4 core generation. It's not enough for 8 core OC though. You're going to want to invest in a large air cooler - NH-D15 / Dark Rock Pro 4 for example - or water cooling with at least a 240/280 radiator, those 120/140 radiators are crap. Now if you're not doing an OC a Hyper212 is fine.
I did this to my z390-A with my i9 9900k, 70c while stresstesting with corsair 100x. Superstable, great video. Thx alot
Great video and after uninstalling Asus AI Suite and tweaking the parameters manually in BIOS following your instructions I managed to get the same Cinebench R20 score but at 7 degrees Celsius lower CPU temp.

Yep. Clean windows installation on an an NVME SSD with nothing but OCCT and CPUZ installed. No network and nothing but a Keyboard and Mouse connected.
@@boostedmedia Dang....I just built my new system with a (don't laugh) 9600k @ 5ghz, with 16gb 3200mhz and just a 850 Evo and still takes 8 seconds. I thought NVMe would make windows boot slower because it has to initialize the PCIE bus or something? Maybe that isn't a problem anymore, I dunno. Haha :)
Boosted Media how did you setup your pc so that when you boot it, it logs you in automatically? Mine is fast but I still gotta type my password to login lol
Didn’t set a password.
Boosted Media oh.................
LMFAO duh 😅 thanks for the reply anyways 👌🏻
Very helpful and good explanation of the settings. Just finished my first custom loop, so there should be a bit of headroom. Great video
Can this also work with asus rog strix z390-e motherboard with the i7 9700k + noctua nh d-15?
This works better than the ASUS AI Overclocking software that I tried and it had a mind of it's own and caused my computer to crash and reboot constantly that I had to reset back to bios default to get it to work again. Using ASUS Strix Z390-E MOBO with i7 9700K, G.Skill RipJaw 32GB DD4 3600. Got it stable 4.7 GH core temp across all 8 cores at 32C. I went ahead and OC to my final frequency of 5.0 and all core temps are still 32C idle.
I had this video come up on autoplay one day, and opened the description and saw you recommend Asus Z390-E Gaming, and just so happened to be debating a new MoBo because my 8700K was over taxing the MSI 370 gaming plus I had at the time. The z390-E Gaming turned out to be one of the best for the $
Why is this the ONLY guy I can find ANYWHERE on the internet who explains what does what in bios??
Bild videos are fun and all, but no one explains what to do after you're done building.
PC porn gets more views. Not many people actually care to learn. They just want “here copy these settings”.
Glad you found the video helpful.
@@boostedmedia Not yet. I have a particular problem and I beleave that problem lays somewhere in my bios settings.
Bios is a scary place, at least for me. I don't wanna change anything I don't know about.
Is it at all possible to chat? I need to talk to someone who knows what they're doing. All the PC repair shops in my town don't know how to help me.
It's driving me up the wall that my "gaming PC" doesn't like playing games.
@@boostedmedia I am even willing to pay for your time.
Shoot me a message via the Facebook page mate. I’ll see what I can do. :)
I’m looking to stay at about 4.8ghz on my 8700k and 370a. What voltage should I aim for? 1.1-1.3v? Other than that, I assume I can just use the same settings you listed? Really I’m just looking for the safest/easiest OC, not trying for 5-5.1ghz..
Best OC guide I’ve found, so thank you for this!
Thankyou for this video it’s bang on what I wanted and you explained everything clearly. Top guy 👏
Best and simple Guide!Thank you!
You’re welcome.
Thank you so much. I have succeeded to overlock my CPU to 5.0 Ghz with your settings. I have got Asus Z390-F and i9-9900K. Core temperatures vary btw 52-60 degrees with load. Indeed I had great fear to try this.
I got same board and I get into 90s in cinebench luck of draw i suppose
@@markearl7172 my technican said do not use cinebench . Use asus ai suite
@@markearl7172 but sure the cooling system is certainly important
I have the same mobo and cpu, are you using adaptive mode or manual? what vcore you use?
Help, I cannot adjust core ratio...it only shows auto and won't let me click.on it....its on a 9900k
Hey Will, my current specs are as follows;
CASE:
1) Cooler Master MasterBox MB511 RGB
POWER SUPPLY:
1) Corsair HX 1000
CPU/MOTHERBOARD/RAM/STORAGE/ GRAPHICS
1) Intel Core i7 8700K @3.7GHz = OC: 5100MHz
2) Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero (Wifi)
3) Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 (2x16GB) - 3200MHz
4) Kingston 128GB SSD (Windows), Samsung 860 EVO 1TB SSD, Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SSD, Western Digital 3TB HDD
5) Asus ROG Strix Geforce RTX 2060 OC 6GB DDR6 = OC: 2100MHz | 7725 MHz
COOLING:
1) Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240R RGB = Intake
2) Cooler Master MB511 case fans x1 = Intake
3) Cooler Master MB511 case fans x3 = Exhaust
Currently with AI Suite, I am using AI Overclocking which is giving me:
1) 6 cores at 5100MHz
2) max vcore: ~1.314V (according to AI Suite and CPU-Z)
3) temp underload: ~72-75C (temp readings from AI Suite) (~81-90C according to MSI Afterburner)
4) idle temp: ~29-35C (temp readings from AI Suite) (~28-38C according to MSI Afterburner)
Scoring:
1) AI Suite= CPU Speed +37% | Cooler Points: 168 pts
2) Cinebench R20 = 3782 cb
3) Heaven 4.0 = 5887
My question is should I manually overclock in bios or just leave it to AI overclocking? Please let me know if you can. Thanks so much! Subscribed
So I tried this but for some reason my cpu current only goes to 140% and my cpu won't budge from 3.6 MHz , it's a Asus prime z390 a mobo and a i7 9700k
Great video my guy. Solved all my issues
Great straight forward and no bs instructions. Thank you very much, ill be subscribing.
Asus use to have my heart but Gigabyte is my favorite now. I have a Z97WS board that almost got ruined from ASUS's own bloatwear utilities. It never performed the way I thought it would. I now have a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro and loving it. The new BIOS everybody has been ripping on doesn't seem to be an issue, I got the board to overclock stable at 5GHz. It's what I'm typing on right now. Badass.
This was very informative, i did an overclock to 4.8ghz a while ago but wasn't aware how much i missed out, got my i7 9700k at 5ghz now thanks ❤
Question, was your CPU Current Capability limit stuck at 140%? I could not change mine above that. I am running the i7 9700k and ASUS Z390 A Prime.
@@mattbroughton5082 i also have 140% max
@@mattbroughton5082 Damn - I'm just about to finish a Prime z390A / 9700K build, this could be problem. Perhaps it isn't a shocker that Asus have limited the current, because the VRM's are only 4-phase and run hot.
@@mattbroughton5082 hi there. I came across this video just now, I have the same build as you and i also thought the 140 difference might be sth to worry about as in the video it goes up to 170%. so I was curious to know whether you have managed to accomplish the 5.0 Ghz ? cause mine sits at 3.6 mostly and just goes up when under load.
thanks for you video, help me a lot. stable 9700k to 5.0 Ghz with 1.252 vcore AVX0 good temps and work fantastic, thanks for help.
Excellent :)
Must be nice, I’m running 1.34V LOL
I'm at 1.32 just gaming benchmarks need 1.35
Could you make a overclocking guide for a gigabyte z390 for beginners. Love your content! Cheers 🍻
