  • Looking for a quick guide to achieve 5GHz on your i9 9900K without a huge AVX offset? You've come to the right place!
    In this video I take you through all the settings to achieve a 5GHz overclock in your 9900K. Cooling dependent of course, these settings should have you well on your way to a stable overclock at 5GHz on all 8 cores.
    Unlike many other guides, this video will give you a basic understanding of what the various settings actually do, and what the safe voltage ranges are for each parameter.
    The video also discusses Manual vs. Adaptive voltage modes and the Pros and Cons of each.

    Damn here’s me thinking you’re a slimmer version of Marty from McM’s but you know your shit, this tutorial gave my 9900k the same overclock that I’ve had on it for a year but dropped the temps by 20c.
    I couldn’t get it stable at 5.0 and my voltage was around the 1.375 mark. Now it’s pinned at 100%,5.0ghz and under 80c.

    Thanks for doing this video, first attempt after watching this got me stable w/9900k at 5.0 with 1.27 volts, xmpII 3200. Bumped to 5.1 staying at 1.27v and still stable. I think I'll park it there. Thanks!

    So at first I followed your other video about z390 overclocking but I was running an i9-9900k. I couldn't get it stable until I seen this video and I followed everything to the t. However, at 1.300v my processor was getting too hot. So I decided to bring bring it down to 4.7 ghz and I finally got it stable at 1.245v. OCCT lasted a good 6 hours with no problems at temps between 60c and 67c. I'm running an h100i v2 aio cooler.

      Sure, in general desktop PCs can last a long time, it's just matter if it can keep up with certain software, like games to 3D rendering.

    Thanks, i learned so much. Now running at Constant 5Ghz and i only crashed once in Prime95. I bumped up my voltage just a tad and now i am running stable....kind of scary to see 95°C as a Max :D But you'll never get that high if you're just gaming.

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah Prime95 is a totally unrealistic load. Try running something like realbench and see how got it gets there.

    • @TinyChrisTV
      @TinyChrisTV 5 лет назад +1

      @@boostedmedia Can i consider my system beeing "stable enough"? Because repeatedly running Cinebench like 6-7times gives me a bluescreen. However encoding with Handbrake x264 for 12 Hours straight, which i occasionally do, does not crash at all with temps at Peak 92, 88 after like an hour. Should i increase the voltage a bit higher? Other than that i use your exact settings.
      Oh and one thing: You said at 13:39 that BLCK adaptive voltage should be set to disabled. But then it cuts back to enabled. Was this intentional? I have it disabled now. Sorry for bothering you with this, but i am having a hard time.

    • @boostedmedia
      @boostedmedia  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah leave adaptive voltage disabled.

    I have a very similar setup except that my chip is an i9 9900KS & I have it overclocked to 5.2GHz. My motherboard is an Asus ROG Maximus XI Code so my BIOS is almost identical. I'm not exactly new to overclocking but I'm far from an expert & don't have much experience yet. This video helped me understand several things better. Unfortunately there aren't many videos like this specifically for the 9900KS. My chip appears to be very good. It seems to handle even higher frequencies without much fuss but I set it to 5.2GHz just because I like to play it a bit safe.
