Loving these guitars!! Some of the best stuff we've ever done. We're starting to see some actual end user reviews of these guitars on our site, so feel free to go have a read of those too.
Great guitar for the money. Very nice run. So glad I got the Zima blue b stock back in the day from the chapman store. Hell of a deal! Shame that the ml1 pro is now more expensive and imho inferior (basswood body instead of swamp ash, boring finishes, bolt on instead of neck through, no roasted maple fboard)
@@jeekyboi9564 he meant yesterday's terrible news about EVH. 2020 has been a shit show already. But , it keeps finding ways to suck even more. 8 thank god for my family and friends more then ever now.
Chapman has incredible thick neck, I get one the ML1 RS. It has thick neck, make a perfect grip in my palm. Smooth satin finish make it perfect..... Proud to have it 👍👍👍👍👍
Been a Jackson player for many years but Rob, this looks SICK AF. Unfortunately not available for many weeks according to Thomann. The bridge PU is just medium output. Why not a SD Distortion instead?
i just ordered the black sun today , also found and bought the Ghost Fret v2.0 black blood as i have seen it named ? anyhow loving it and cant wait till my Black Sun comes in !
Just received my ML1Pro Strat Style with Tremolo. Love a lot of things about it. What is so disappointing is that the bridge tremolo is terrible. The guitar will not stay in tune the minute you use the bar. If this is the "best guitar Chapman has ever made" that is a huge problem.
Hey Rob! When ur done tinkering with one of those ML1 Black Sun models ya can send it to me :) lol Absolutely love that body coloring. Beautiful guitar bud. Well done. \m/
Hey Rob is there something up with the microphone/audio set-up you’ve been using at Luk’s (excuse the spelling) studio? You just seem to have had a weirdly phasey/kinda tinny/overly roomy guitar tone since you started recording there. Don’t mean to throw shade, just an observation.
Awesome guitars. Now I'd only need to add a boss gt1000 core and I'd be all set ,😉 Congrats on that ad. I was quite pleased to see that inverted headstock in it..
Been wondering, what has been going on with the Rob Scallon signatures? From what I have seen, most retailers only stock the 6 string. Will this be changed soon?
@@RobChappers Alright, thanks! Now I am glad that I didn’t have the money for the ml1 modern pro lunar Last year. That Black sun finish is the most beautiful and badass looking I have ever seen. The guitar itself is a masterpiece anyway. In my eyes and for my taste that is perfection! I am so looking forward to get it 🤘🏽
Hi @robchapman. I bought this Guitar, comes within 2-3weeks can’t wait. Can you give me some advice how you treated the wood before the shoot, looks really good!
They're completely different instruments with different pros and cons. Truthfully, you shouldn't limit yourself to any specific brand, and seek out what feels the best in your hands.
@@AndruJorj totally, i'd never buy a guitar without playing it first, but I've tried Mexican fender strats and they've been dope. I have heard such good things about chapmans that I wanna get my hands on one for a go.
Same here buddy. I will probably go with the chapman. But it will depend on what will feel better when i go to visit Andertons soon and try them out at the same time. Always go with something that feels the best for you.
Hello Rob! I’m Mihai from Romania and I want to ask you if I have a squire telecaster and I want to put a chapman ML1 neck it going to fit!? Please if you have time to answer duet! I wish you all the best!
I plan on ordering a black sun model very soon, yet I was curious. I do a lot of indie/indie rock, bluesy rock, and occasionally the bedroom pop style. I know this guitar is for the heavier hitters but would this be good for those genres too?
Roll back the volume from 10 to around 7-8, adjust your pedal/amp settings and sure you can play some sweet sounding music that isn't metal/thrash/hard rock. Tone is always 90% guitarist playing style and amp and 10% the actual guitar. You don't need 20 different guitars to play 20 different styles of music. Chapman guitars may not have the overall finish gualiry of a £2000 ESP or Ibanez Prestige model but for £800 they're hard to beat. You get a lot of spec for the money. I have an ML3 Traditional Standard, I bought it used for £250 in pretty much immaculate condition, I can honestly say I prefer it to my Gibson LP and my PRS SE 24 Custom. Really comfortable guitar with great neck. If you're in UK you can get an ML1 Pro in blue right now for £700 from Guitar GuitarGuitar. That's amazing value for roasted maple neck, neck through construction, stainless steel frets, Seymour Duncan pickups, Hipshot Locking tuners... Nothing comes close at that price.
Hey Rob. What made you switch from Chapman branded pickups back to SD? I remember a few years ago you saying SD were too expensive to put in Chapman guitars at the price point you wanted?
Chapman guitars keeps getting bigger and bigger, so I wouldn't be surprised if the tables turned and SD were the ones that were willing to compromise on price this time lol.
Hey Chappahhhzzzzz TDS aka Truck Driver Shawn here.... Are you sending demo models of these around the USA? If so I would definitely love to demo and review one of these new modern models for my little RUclips channel 🤟💀🤟
I have a question maybe you can answer...I was experimenting making barre Chords and I "invented" one ,where the barre is the second fret, fourth fret I use just two fingers on the D and G strings and it sounds beautiful. I can't find what it's called though even after searching online chord images. Thanks.
Pretty much only reason I haven't ordered one is lack of fret markers. If you're good enough to play blind I guess no worries but I need a bit of visual guidance. They do have side dots though so that's something.
@@talkychris The side dots are actually surprisingly useful too. I have a classical guitar that doesn’t have fret markers but the side fret markers are very usable alternative.
Rob... I am 2 and a half minutes in... I have had my ml1 pro modern for 2 years now, and have been hunting around for a second guitar... ive owned some pretty high end stuff...Mayones custom shop among them... and as a live musician who actually goes out and plays, the pro range is INSANE. I was looking at the ml3 semihollow, to try something with a roasted maple neck, but... with the updates specs and finishes... looks like I'll just buy another ml1. BONKERS dude!! Hands down the coolest guitar finish I’ve ever seen. And I’m saying that as someone who doesn’t like super Strat, shreddy kinds of guitars.
Lava especially looks great. Not sure i can live without fret markers though
I’m pretty certain there are fret markers on the side of the neck. Other Chapman models have side dots.
It's just gorgeous. I WISH that I get the promotion at work so I can actually afford it. Love it, keep them coming!
2020 has certainly been rough especially with today's news 😔 A cool new guitar range certainly helps though 👍

Those colours do look sweet!
Damn, those things are stacked with specs. Sweet guitars. Can't wait for updates on the ML-2 Pro.
The lava finish one looks very unique!
dude that Sith black and lava paint job is freaking unreal, so cool looking.
The sandblast finishes are so cool. Wow the neck on that guitar is super secksy. What a badass guitar.
Sounds amazing, gorgeous colors, your son needs a bonus in this week's allowance for "Lava" & nice tip on less wind = better tuning stability.
Beautiful guitar my brother 🎸 definitely something to be proud of! 🤘
i bought the zima blue, sounds amazing, looks great

Hey Rob, are you going to do a standard line of bass guitars?
Uh is Lola back, thats a long time since we saw her in the videos!

How about the "lava treatment" on that blue guitar?
Are there still any plans for a floyd ML1? The pitch black modern with floyd would be legendary
Rob How much is the import duty from U.K. Into U.S. ?
Is there video on how they are made? I'm mostly interested in how they're painted.
That guitar looks like Chapman took the Rob Scallon signature guitar (the ML1-RS), raised the build quality, and put a different headstock on it.
