  • We had a day trip out of Salt Lake City to Bozeman, Montana, then to San Francisco, then back to Salt Lake City. We had some amazing views of snow covered mountains into Bozeman. We also had a beautiful parallel approach into SFO with a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737. Unfortunately, the sun had just gone down, so the video was not the best going into San Francisco, look closely for the B737 on the left!

    The best to watch. These guys are the best example of Cockpit Resource Management. Very sterile flight deck as they are all biz. I actually flew Presidential from FXE to MRY about 7 years ago, probably before they were doing these videos. Needless to say it was a great flight.

    Nice to see the flight from this side, I spent years giving the old...."Descend to cross Cedes at maintain 11000 250 knots, SFO altimeter....." or the more dreaded... proceed direct Cedes to hold S.E. as published maintain FL200 leg length your discretion EFC at 2200, time now 2115...I loved working the flow, the general recreational aviation was always fun to weave in and out.

    Just added your channel and have been catching up on the videos and ran across this one which brought back memories (years ago) of the same approach into SFO with my Skymaster on the right and 737 on the left. I always kept the speed up to match the jets on the approach but then level out over the rwy, pull back the power and "coast" to the last few thousand feet before touchdown and off to the GA area. Love the editing mix.

    Did a parallel landing aboard a Pan Am 747 Heathrow to San Francisco, the pilot came on the PA. "I wish to assure passengers that there are two runways down there" This was back in the 1980s our 1st trip to the US, using a Pan Am fly drive holiday.
    Got held up in immigration and the officer apologised, he then gave us some travel tips on seeing as he said The Real California.
    I accepted as long as he put his name and phone number on the sheet, so called him three weeks late from LA. He and his wife flew down for dinner with us and there started a 6 year friendship.
    Man you guys are bringing back so many memories. safe flying.

    Question: I've noticed this on a couple of your videos: After landing (ie. right after the nose wheel is on the ground) and still on the runway, the PM places grabs the center of his yoke, maybe even pressing it forward a bit while holding the ailerons steady and the PF hand goes off of his yoke. What's the reason for this? I don't hear any verbal hand-off of the controls. My best guess is to operate a tiller and the yoke likes to fall forward by itself.

    • @CorporatePilotLife
      @CorporatePilotLife  6 лет назад

      Exactly right. The yoke will fall forward, but will bounce around, so the PM holds it steady and into the wind.
