Routes:
KLAX OSHNN8 MISEN KEPEC6 KLAS
KLAS COWBY8 GUP J72 SPS BYP MEI OTK PIGLT4 KMCO
Music: Inevitable By Diamond Ortiz
14 gusting to 20 knots, 60 degree crosswind - love the comment by John "prepare for impact".
I actually work at Gulfstream Aerospace at the Savannah plant; building the G450 until they recently phased out. I now work on the new G500’s; I take a great deal of amount of pride in my work and even more in our a/c. Absolutely enjoy watching y’alls VLOG’s and learning not just from y’all in the flight deck, but the interaction with your followers! Great CRM, professionalism and pride in your craft! Keep it comin, and if y’all ever bring her in to the Savannah plant for maintenance would be great to meet y’all and do lunch! Oh and maybe someday they’ll turn your VLOG into your own weekly tv show, that would be AWESOME!!!
"prepair for impact" i always think on final! :D
Nice shot of the solar array at 13:24.
I'm Soo happy...What a Day.....Jon all Smiles, (even laughter...!!!), Has his favorite new Xmas socks on, (Rum & Coke...)...and now we come to Mr. Sean.....All smiles from landing LAX...nasty lil crosswind in his head....Butter my tail-end....That was a baby's butt landing with the yoke sideways....!!!!!......Lovin It Guy's.......S.F., Ca..... ;-)
Thanks! Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Not everyone could rock those socks, but Jon pulls it off nicely !
Healthy crosswind at Orlando, lots of aileron input to keep the wing down. Nice greasy landing.
Thanks! Yes indeed...
Great video guys. John will have to get some Dr. Pepper socks next. Heck you might have to do a whole video on his sock collection if he keeps adding to them. Isn't it funny on some of the stuff we get a kick out of when we fly around the country.
Jeremy Phillips Jon’s sock collection is now a National Resource
Watched your after flight comments. I filled the LAX square back in the 1970s flying the T-39 Sabreliner for the USAF. Thought we were hot stuff but we kept getting passed by 747s flying much faster. Then, maintain big speed for a long time and wanted us to exit midfield. We had no TR or antiskid. Unable. We were not popular with the airliner behind us that had to go around. Blown tires on a T-39 were not uncommon and I darned sure didn't want to do it at LAX. Corporate is fun most of the time. T-39s in USAF and Citation much later in life. Like you stuff.
That’s a great Ed McMahon impression by John when Sean said he “greases” all the landings...... YES! Haha....you are correct sir!!.....
starts at 22:20.....auto land....
"All right, man. I'm gonna fly the airplane for a bit."
"Oh, boy."
ROTFLMAO.
Yeah...that's always the scary part
I caught that too. No reaction from John. :(
Jon was pretty chatty on that flight. Fun video.
I got a real good giggle out of that one. "Oh Boy"
Indeed. I noticed that as well. Very chatty.
Sounds strange but the coolest part of the video is when you guys say Vámonos. Without vámonos the videos are not complete.
So good, love the banter. Then you get down to business. Keep it up!
Awww Santa Monica. My hometown ❤️
Another great post! I like Jon’s confidence in your landings, “prepare for impact!” lol!
No faith...maybe someday
What’s the toughest approach and landing that you or Jon have ever done as far as conditions with weather or airfield?
The only one that really stands out was going into Telluride in a Hawker several years ago. It was first thing in the morning, and as soon as we turned final, the sun popped up over the mountains in our eyes. The glare was so bad that we lost sight of the field. We had to go around twice and wait till the sun got higher so we could see the runway. Doing those go arounds in the mountains was no fun...
Wow that seemed intense given those conditions! Watching your approach into Las Vegas this time reminded me of what Jon said going into 19R on a previous post, it’s was hard to tell the taxi way and runway. At least no mountains on Vegas approach, lol.
John's in an unusually chipper mood. :)
Charles Harris I’m telling you, Jon is plotting something
Who needs a stinking autoland, we got Shaun!!! Love the socks. :)
That's what I keep saying!
But now I just jinxed my next landing...great
Corporate Pilot Life as long as you don’t actually snap the gear right off, it’s all good
Exactly
Corporate Pilot Life or, how about as you are slowing to about 60knots one of the wheels suddenly makes a break for it and keeps bouncing along in front of you? Could be good for a chuckle
Smooth as warm butter, and making it look easy, because you're doing it right. Direct out of LA almost as soon as you got up in the air, and that speed..they really did want you out of there. Jon's continuing campaign to become a sock model(sock game is Strong though), and when he gets the call for it..he better choose to remain in the pilot seat! Those tail winds towards the end! but made up for it when they slowed you to a crawl coming in at ORL. Nice flights overall though, and glad you got some time at home.
Thank you!
I’ve had a really bad day, and I love coming home to a notification you guys have a new videos. Love your video....Even the heavy breathing lol.
Same for me,a really bad day. Trying to figure a quick way to get from PHX to KTUL, my best buddy just lost his 1st born daughter, she was only 28. That among other things. Si I destressed while watching this
Mr DDD3az that sucks. Sorry
Lol
I work at LAX in the construction inspection division.
I just stumbled on your videos.
I see my work truck in your video when you taxi past me
Lol
Love these kinds of videos.
Really enjoyed this one! Grabbed a screen shot of that LAX departure off the right wing...
Good evening Shaun, Juan here again. Just checking in if you’ve had time to record my ringtone lol. I tried recording it from one of your videos but freaking ATC 😒
I haven't been on the plane since we spoke before, but I will be later today. I'll try to get it done.
The coca cola socks are awesome!!! Loved the joking about landing in difficult wind conditions. Like butter....haha!
You both have excellent flight deck resource management.
HUGE shoutout to Sean on the production of this video!! Video cuts, music, color correction, video quality & music quality are 100. Jon better watch out or his co-pilot is going to become a huge RUclips star...,,,.oh wait.....
Great job as always Sean!!
scott jenkins then when Shaun has enough wealth to buy the G-IV, he can turn to Jon and say.
“You work for ME now”
And give a sinister chuckle.
Sort of like the final scene in To Live and Die in LA
That Falcon 900 at LAX had an Isle of Man registration!
Just an FYI, your airplane is rolling on concrete taxiways that I watched being built; I have had my hands inside of every center line, inpavement light on your route from the landing on 25L all the way to the FBO parking position at Atlantic; the big fuel tanks and parking position pavement on the Atlantic FBO yard…I inspected during construction 🦺😊
I love watching videos of the pilots, using all the facilities that I was a part of making come to life
🤣😂👍. Work for a living ... 😅🤣😂. Subscriber forever! Thanks for another great video!!!
Great video, was laughing with you guys. And being a Californian, not offended. There is crazy’s out here! Thumbs up here!
These guys are just too awesome. Period.
Totally heard that hero Southwest Captain Schultz on this video.
That was a kisser of a landing if you ask me. Good job!
great Socks John. Love it...
Love this channel. You guys were a CRM how to class!!
Another great video! Love waking up to these before I have to go sweat my butt off all day flight instructing!
Best team flying .
Que smile John, gotta love the socks, flying billboard for Coke Cola. Nice to check off LAX landing. Fascinating to listen to the radio traffic. Look forward to your next video. ADIOS
really, REALLY miss Jon
Still center line even with those winds...heck of a landing and good cross wind correction during the landing roll. As always great vid....
Javier Guerrero you could tell Jon was jealous of that landing. His wife probably had to hold his hand for awhile
OMG! Guys you are the Team Supreme!!! That was one of the most enjoyable videos I've seen in awhile. Never seen John enjoying himself so much on a flight! Also, nice Greaser!!! Good job guys! Keep them coming!
You two guys are a brilliant crew👍
👍
That southwest 1987 voice (while you were on approach in LAS) sounded alot like the pilot who was in the emergency landing in PHL after engine failure.
Quick continental transit. Gotta get some Coke-a-Cola socks. "Have a Coke and Smile." Nice "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" touch down. Next time in LA you'll have your stars in the Walk of Fame. 👍😁
Now that would be sweet!
Fred Thorne Coke and Bacardi, one of my favourite drinks
Jerry Korman - Cuba Libre, menos la lima. Magnifico!
It's fun to find you guys on FlightAware. You fly a bit higher and faster than the big boys.
Greased it. The landing went very smoothly. Pur pro's.
How are you liking the new avionics updates and engines. I think that is the first time I remember seeing Jon's teeth too, happy sock overload. Live in LA, you would need to get a helicopter to commute, but could have another VLOG. "Commuter Pilot Life" Be safe, Clear skies.
I like that! Commuter Pilot Life...HAHA! The engines we got are loaners. Ours are being overhauled and will be put back on in a few months, so we'll see how they perform after that. The avionics are very nice. We're still getting used to which button to push to get what we need though.
Corporate Pilot Life good ole Honeywell. Wait until every screen has a red X
Apology accepted Sean, (Not all Californian's are crazy) and John, Great Smile.....You guys Rock
Great flight. Thanks guys
I have to thank you guys for the videos. I just started to travel for my job, I was always scared to fly. Your videos made it easier because I see what the pilots are doing and how calm everything really is. I go thru all your checks in my head. It’s crazy but you guys helped me out a lot. Thank You
Glad to hear! I hope you continue to enjoy...
busy busy... thats always a good thing.
great vid as always!
Also. I enjoy pulling up the Jepp charts and following your procedures on the STAR on my iPad. Cool stuff.
Sorry...SID :(
always look forward to your videos...thanks
Notification Squad!!!!!! 0415 here in PHX watching my boys. Safe travels Sean.
Holy cow! Go back to bed!! But thanks for the first comment...enjoy the day, you have a lot of it left
cool flight
Another great video, please clean the bug splatter of the right side windshield. LOL. If I ever hit the lottery I would like to hire you guys for a year. Thanks for your videos that keep this old pilot living the pilot life through you guys.
Awesome, I served in the United States Air Force, flew to Puerto Rico in a KC135 refueling tanker, safe to there and back, thanks to the pilots, my utmost respect to both of you.
Great flight Gentleman!!
I liked the hand signals when raising the gear and there was pertinent R/T conversation going on. One of you pointed to the "three green" indication and the other gave a thumbs up. Perfect.
Routing: Between South Florida and the west coast, it was common for traffic to fly the Gulf route (used to be Control 1226, don't know what it is now, probably Q100) between PIE and Grand Isle. How is it you were as far north as OTK (or VLD as I used to know it)? Jetstream?
I used to work that sector (CEW) back in the day before we split High Altitude east and west. I went East.
Thanks! We do fly Q100 quite often, but yeah...best winds determines the route.
SMILE? YIKES!
Bill Howard up to this point I couldn’t have sworn- under oath- that Jon even had teeth
Nice to see the engines start as it really adds to the video. Another enjoyable VLOG.
Nice! Have that cabin side wall light fixed.... and enjoy time with the family!
You Two Pilots are cool dudes!
Haha, gotta go to Las Vegas real quick, that's what I say when I go to the supermarket! Different perspective on distance as a pilot ;);)
You guys were always fun to watch. You were the first BIZ JET crew I started watching.
Greased it.
Thanks for including the startup routine.
Just got back from Vegas yesterday. Think I saw the airport y’all fly into when I was at the Las Vegas sign. Love every upload y’all do.
Very nice...that's the one!
Nice flight, excellent job! Thanks for the “Smile” and California rocks!
Another great video from you two.
Sure earn your pay on this trip.
Loved the California joke... :)
Keep up the good work...
Thank you!
Love the banter 😂
Definitely a bit of excitement noted at going home 🏡 Shaun always smiling but Jon grins from ear 👂 to ear 👂 and flashing the teeth. Great video and thanks for the ride.
Brilliant, thanks again guys, really appreciate it
regards
Gareth
Fantastic job guys... can't wait for the next video!
Enjoy the start up share!
Thank you for answering. Your videos are great
Fun flying with you two guys ✈️
Great video made me LOL on train to London !!
I love watching you guys. Awesome work. Now I can go to work, catch you on the next one.
Jon's Coca-Cola part ... Epic !!! Love it Jon !!!
From SoCal too and currently employed LOL! You'll have to touch down at John Wayne in Santa Ana to find some of those "perm-a-retired" (we call them) Californians. Be sure to tip the valet at Atlantic and keep an eye out for Harrison Ford's crazy a$$ landing on the taxiway on the way out!
HAHA! No offense meant by that...it was all in good fun. I read about Mr. Ford's landing in there...that sounds interesting.
Corporate Pilot Life I’m guessing Ford’s jet didn’t have RAAS
You did grease the landing @ Orlando... Sweet!!!
Oh yeah...
Sean you made the landing look easy as usual. Nice sox Jon, I like your style.. Fly safe lads!
Smooth as butter.
the intro in L.A. gave the vid. a polished feel , nice editing, smooth production !
John's socks need their own VLOG. John also looked like he was flying/riding "dirty" with how much he raised his seat. BTW, I am a Californian native. I took no offense. I wear polos. I left 20 years ago. I don't work though. Probably because I retired at 38 years old after 20 years in the Marine Corps. So if you're ever up in the Lansing, Michigan area. I'll buy you guys lunch or dinner on my pension. Even though I rather fly a G-IV or above. Great video once again gentlemen. Cant wait for more.
Thanks! That would be great!
such aviation nerds! love it!
Jon. you are the man, Coke Socks What's next......
Brian Cokonougher i keep hoping for bare feet
Great v log guys good scenery good pilot skills. Keep them coming always a pleasure cheers
great channel guys. best wishes from the Bay Area
Thank you! Glad to see you here!
jawed nice. My aunt and uncle lived a long time in Sausalito, then moved to Santa Rosa. Shortly after they retired, they moved to Lake Havasu City, AZ
Love it, thanks guys!
Enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing your flights. Looking forward to many more.
Approach should have just told you to pull over and take a bathroom break on that decent!! That was as close to a stop light in air travel as you can get. LOL
Sean and John you guys are awesome love your Channel it was nice seeing Santa Monica this is Walter fisser from Alhambra California
Did you do Bubba Gump’s in Santa Monica... or was it strictly In-N-Out? Their spicy jambalaya is amazing...
We did Bubba Gump's a few times ago, but not this trip. Great atmosphere in there.
Awesome. Finally saw my neighborhood on the approach to LAS. Next time I’ll have to keep FlightAware up and spot you. Great vid as always.
Great flight and great video, Shaun. You two guys are a hoot to fly with. Not only do you work well together, but you have a lot of fun doing it. You constantly amaze me at how well you two work together. Love the socks Jon has on. Glad ya’ll had a great time in LA. Back home, that looked like a smooth landing, Shaun. Good job. Hope ya’ll got to spend some great time at home with your families. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. We really enjoyed it. As always, Happy Flying, and Safe Landings. See ya on the next video.
Thank you, Richard!
Love following your travels and flying, especially in the Gulfstream.
Last deployment, I adopted a Pez dispenser from an Easter care package. It became a mascot of sort for landings. If it was still standing after a landing, the NFP "bought" the other a Coke. It meant something because of the winds; Bagram has 120 days of cross-winds (one runway). It was something to lighten up the mood; I now present it to Prez 69.
nice view of the ivanpah solar power facility at 13:24
As usual another great video, thanks..!! Hey, with all the different socks John has why not get advertising fee. A fee paid by the franchisee to the franchiser for the expenditure incurred in corporate advertising....lol #extramoney
We're thinking about making some CPL socks of our own...could be fun
Corporate Pilot Life also tees/polos and caps
hey guuys thanks for posting the routes i just finished my twin engine certifications and now on to my commercial liens hopefully in about 6 months ill be on my own path to the corporate pilot life
Very nice! Let us know how the progress goes!
michael whittman way to go!
Loved the big smiles.....great video as usual
Maureen McDonald Jon is plotting something, I’m tellin ya
