How to make a Tivaevae Cushion

Cook Islander Ani O'neill shows us how to sew 'tivaevae' cushions.
Tivaevae is a form of artistic quilting traditionally done by Cook Islands & Tahitian women and introduced by the wives of missionaries.
Although it has a European origin, the patterns and techniques have evolved into styles which are now quite unique to the Cooks.
