- John Mayer reveals who his hit 2001 track, ‘Your Body Is a Wonderland,’ is really about on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast. Fans have long speculated that Jennifer Love Hewitt, whom John dated around the time of its release, inspired the track.
Both his speaking and singing voice are so beautiful.
Never understood how the urban legend of the song being about Jennifer Love Hewitt started. The album came out in 2001 and he was performing it live way before he met her.
I believe a lot his earlier songs are about her. I think John Mayer is probably trying to save face since the relationship didn’t work out .
His maturity comes through well. He has a strong sense of self aware.

It’s interesting the fact that he describes that strong union as hot, cause that’s the whole purpose of marriage and what makes so beautiful to go through all stages of life. Men are not perfect and women neither.

What does he mean by someone who can put up with the hard stuff. Define hard stuff because if you want a relationship you have to know how to treat your partners and not be a psycho , no one should put up with abuse .
He explained that hard stuff was just the normal ups and downs throughout a couple’s relationship. He understands that the honeymoon phase isn’t forever and just wants someone where they have an equal understanding of not wanting to give up on each other when they go through the less exciting phases or rough patches.
When JM talks about staying with someone through the tough stuff he's nit referring to abuse situation. I'm sure if it was abuse he'd want that person to break off the relationship

He filed a lawsuit against The Office USA for them singing the song on their Christmas show. For me I wouldn't have known about this song. Sometimes we follow artists because we saw their music in a series we were watching. Everyone wins. Don't see why the artists want millions for something that is free advertising.

Completely false. John gave the office the license to use the song FOR FREE because he was a big fan, and in exchange he got a real dundee award from the writers, which no one else has and he has it displayed in his house until this day.
I saw him in concert by accident once. Very boring set. All songs sounded the same. I'm surprised he made a career out of it or made any money at all. Dating famous women kept him relevant.
