If you think that writing down insults to throw at Trump and then writing them in French so they can understand, is having balls then you are a little dull. Its not what the Haitians are thinking. This whole thing is produced. Can’t you tell?
Did you see the video when Conan went to the classroom and the little girl made an impassioned speech about how they didn't need help from the US and how we were going to come and take their stuff? When watching this video the woman immediately made me think of the little girl.
My dad actually worked in Haiti for a while and he said that as a manager, of all of his workers (Haitian) were the hardest working and honest people he met. I am american, please learn the tragedy of Dessalines. Good man who with the help of Toussaint louverture , Henry Christopher and the population created and took back Haiti from the french. Just like here in the usa walk over the fact that Jefferson and Washington had slaves So does history white wash (no pun intended) Dessalines part in history. He was a good man but power got to him and he became a Draconian ruler who eventually had everybody hating him. He was hacked by the very same people who saved and his body was fed to the pig. LESS YOU THINK THIS HAPPENED IN A VACUUM AND WE AMERICA DID GET AFFECTED.. ( just for emphasis not screaming). This was one of the main reasons we were able to purchase the Louisiana purchase. The french could not defend the territory if the US just wanted to walk in and take it. As it no longer had a military to defend the expansive land. And that is why we have the Creole culture and people in that area.n Land of Dixie was reference to the 10 french dix bill dollar ... Have fun learning and correcting me. All I ask is look at more than once source not just wikileaks. Now you see why it was so funny when Conan kept saying this island. How beautiful is America that it would allow this situation to occur. To have a private citizen and industry stand up and say... he WE are not all full of hate for you. I just so love my country usa. WE are not perfect , but we sure don't look the other way when we know we are wrong.
Conan is a history and literature major at Harvard. I'm sure he knows about him--he either snapped at that moment or was just playing. His focus was on American history I believe--so he must have known more about the Haitian revolution than we think he does.
Conan has visited Ireland, Finland, Germany, Armenia, South Korea, Israel, Cuba, and now Haiti. Never once has he been disrespectful. He embraces the different cultures and tries to find the best aspects of them. He makes himself to be a clown so that the local people can laugh at him rather than making fun of them. I have so much respect for this man. He is truly a legend. EDIT: Also, Mexico. :-)
He visited a scene tourist area of a country wracked with corruption and violence to minimize its cultural and political problems. A country that is now literally run by a cannibalistic gang.
the ending is really surprised me.. The man in red even emphasizes that their problem is with trump and not american people.. Haitian are really good people
Technically he didn't win the majority popular vote. He won by default. And probably some immoral, terrible other things we don't yet know about. Please don't generalize. He didn't get my vote. He doesn't represent me. At all. But his Presidency is a lesson. Just a stepping stone that this great country has been long over due for.
Nope.. You can't just throw your fellow american under the bus when you are also part of the problem. Why in the hell do you allow gerry meandering and electoral college happen in america? You don't do anything about it, you don't call your senator, etc.. If there's only 1-2% american behave like this, then you can call them minority just like ISIS, neonazi, etc.. He gave a speech in their language which was the first step in communicating with them. And they probably felt very touched for it. Conan has a talent like no other for this stuff. No they don't teach them in high school, Haiti was ruled by US FOR 16 years 1915 to 1931. They killed the Haitian president as soon as they stepped in.
Americans live on fantasy island, thinking their country is the ''best'' that ever existed on Earth, which it couldn't be further from the truth. Most Americans really believe their country acts with good intentions whenever they invade another sovereign nation, spreading ''freedom and democracy''. The intro animation hit the most important detail: How many times the country has had its wealth stolen. When people can't understand why other nations or peoples don't "pick themselves up" out of poverty, it's precisely this reason--wealth and money and profit has been siphoned, stolen, taken through force, or extorted from that place. Wealth is inherited, but so is poverty. So is theft.
You act as if the US just came in and stole everything. US came to occupy the country because Haiti was in deep debt to America. It was also in complete chaos. It had assassinated/exiled 7, yes SEVEN different presidents in the four years before US occupied it. America came to instill an actual democratic system and constitution and collect the debts owed to America. Once America left again, President Vincent turned Haiti into a dictatorship, rewrote the constitution, expanded his power and crushed his opposition. Haiti was in a relatively good state when America left, but reverted back into a dictatorship once they were gone. So saying that America just occupied Haiti to steal it's wealth is false. They came to collect the debts owed to them and to return order to the country, which was quickly reverted once they left. I suggest you actually look into the history of Haiti instead of letting a late night talk show comedian tell you it. But most people wont because that would be too hard.
Here's a clue: just because some oversimplified liberal offers an "explanation" doesn't mean it's true. Go read some objective history books to find out what REALLY has been going wrong there. I'm pretty sure it doesn't involve giant vacuum cleaners hoovering out their gold.
Really? Here's a book for you: "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man" by John Perkins. He was an "economic hit man" for 10 years, helping U.S. intelligence agencies and multinationals cajole and blackmail foreign leaders into serving U.S. foreign policy and awarding lucrative contracts to American business. "Economic hit men are highly paid professionals who cheat countries around the globe out of trillions of dollars."

A master class? LOL, apparently the council meeting where the LEADERS of Haiti and a whole host of locals invited Trump, and he came, and they exposed how the CLINTONS stole Haitian Aid money, and raped them of their natural resources. Why did Hillary initially name her BROTHER as having the mining rights to gold in haiti ? Why are billionaires taking advantage of opportunities afforded them because of their affiliation with the Clinton's? Its almost as if you do ZERO thinking for yourself. Nope. You're wrong. There are plenty of malevolent people who would love to see Western societies torn down. Not everyone is trying to "make the best" of life.. look at all the criminals, drug addicts, people with depression, nihilists, communists, hardcore racists, etc.. Haha "best of the best"? Really? Why don't you apply that metric to AMERICANS themselves and take care of your mass shootings, obesity epidemic, public education, healthcare and overall decrease in morality? Racists love to blame immigrants for all of their problems but the truth is your country owes alot of its own problems to 100% red-blooded Americans. I've grieved for Haiti for a long time. I know what we did there. I was still active on another YT channel when the earthquake hit, but when I saw that only one person I knew commented about the earthquake, and that nobody was even thinking about it, that's when I really lost interest in continuing. I stayed with the story about Anaika St. Louis being trapped in rubble. She was eleven years old. Her leg was trapped, and they couldn't free her right away. It took about two days to get her out, but it was too late. They took her to one hospital, but they couldn't give her much help. She either died at the second hospital, or along the way to get there. It was so hard for her dear family, and I remember how hard it was for Ivan Watson to report the story. While she was still trapped, he was not far from her, and had to stop for a second to collect himself as she cried out in pain. I'll never forget that precious child. She was so brave and strong. And Trump had the the vile temerity to call Haiti that ugly name. I said earlier today that they ought to take his official portrait and hang it in an outhouse, then bury the outhouse. And I meant it.

Haitian people and everyone else: Dessalines...
Conan:This island...
@Legionarus OP didn't say US, though.. He/she made a statement about stealing wealth which applies to most erstwhile colonial powers as well.

"This is like thanksgiving at my house..." Dead 😂😂😂😂
Conan, you are a kind, understanding and educated person. We love you.
#Conan2020
"this is like thanksgiving at my house".. kinda love the fact how humble conan stays, even if he's under pressure :D
when something ages this awfully, it's truly perfection. Bravo
Haiti is TOTALLY NOT a shithole. Conan should revisit, maybe try the local cuisine. Made by people, for people, and out of peoples flesh.
@@info1418 “You’re racist if you don’t eat the long pork!”
@@PaperThinArmor 😂
You did it right conan greetings from Dominican Republic...
One punch line from Conan and haters become admirers. This man is a genius.
Much respect to you Conan, for broadening our minds and bringing us closer to each other. We love you, our Haitian brothers and sisters!
This segment certainly got me more interested in learning about Haitian history and culture, so thanks Conan!
When you can hug people who were angry with you moments ago that is some transformative power.
I like how that dude at the end says that "whe dont have a problem with americans, we have a problem with its government"
instead of bitching about stuff on twitter, youtube and Facebook like the rest of us, Conan showed up.
And did literally nothing but virtue signal....
And so the bitching begins
So does Conan still wanna show up to meet their new cannibal gang leader?
Pretty easy when you get paid and have security
I feel very emotional about this clip. Well done Conan! spread more laughter and love!
Hey Conan, I think you should do a follow up series on Haiti. How's it going now?
This is awesome! Love the positive vibes of James ✌
Conan is the best. In all of his remotes the one thing that comes across is we are all much more similar than we are different. Every one of us is living with the hand we've been dealt and trying to make the best of it. Some of the comments below are just pathetic...perpetual hate and blame from the same people.
Nope. You're wrong. There are plenty of malevolent people who would love to see Western societies torn down. Not everyone is trying to "make the best" of life.. look at all the criminals, drug addicts, people with depression, nihilists, communists, hardcore racists, etc.. If you live in a 1st world country it's critical you only take in the best of the best. People like yourself have great intentions, but you're actually very dangerous because you try to push shitty policies on everyone else because it makes you feel morally superior. Logic and intelligence > Emotion.
I could understand if Canada, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Finland or Iceland had this policy...they are actually havens to most people. But America...lol.
African immigrants are the most educated group in America, and academically outperform whites AND Asians. www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2015-10-13/it-isn-t-just-asian-immigrants-who-excel-in-the-u-s-
Conan is honestly the most down to earth guy he's so underrated
He got that Jew funded cannibal spirit in him.
I just died at the last punch line;
"It's like Thanksgiving in my house. "
😂😂😂😂😂
Ophelia hahahaha freaking love Conan
That killed me hahahaha
And talk about handling conflict head-on and coming out sparkling on the other side props to Conan
"This Island." 😂😂😂😂😂
Wow beautiful place, Conan should go back again!
They prefer dark meat
That angry lady was happy when Conan said he would stay there for good if we don't get a new President soon 👍🏾 She has every right to be angry but I'm glad she understood we dont all support Trump and because of Conan's speech she had a big smile followed by a hug
"If it's a shithole, Trump should check out his backyard." Haha James is the coolest dude. Seems like a nice guy.
Does he mean the South lawn of the White House?
Well that's pretty racist of Conan... I mean just because the White House is in a very black area doesn't mean it's a shithole.
@@Gobbersmack Very expensive apartments near the White House. I was expecting them to show a picture of an outhouse in Mara Lago or tower.
DC is a horrific shithole compared to Palm Beach
@@Gobbersmack South FL will be underwater sooner or later. Hopefully we won't give rich people who lose property in FL "reparations." Still looking forward to D.C. Statehood.
Thank you Conan, you actually care about the world

Hey, Conan, can we get some follow-up videos on how great Haiti already is? I would like to hear about the people. And the barbecue. Maybe you could turn them into a single segment, even?
Its certainly no shithole and only a few hundred cannibals so thats cool.
From the video: "People come here only to see the bad parts of Haiti."
In the comments: "Why isn't Conan showing all the bad stuff?"
Me: *facepalm*
It's amazing how people change their temperament when you at least try to speak their own language.
Hakim Bey it's as Trevor Noah said in his book: "When you make the effort to speak someone else’s language, even if it’s just basic phrases here and there, you are saying to them, ‘I understand that you have a culture and identity that exists beyond me. I see you as a human being'"
I highly doubt this. Many see it as patronizing.
@@saeedvazirian Don't doubt it. Try it for yourself (and I mean seriously give it a genuine effort, not half-ass it). In almost every case, you'll see people's eyes light up when you make an attempt to speak their language. From my experience, the only people (generally speaking) who don't respond with appreciation are English and French speakers; they almost expect you to speak their language, even if you don't.
James has beautiful eyes omg
The way Connan shifted the situation with his speech was genius.
We are still only in January but I already know that the Dessalines scene will be among the top 5 funniest pieces of comedy in 2018.
Good stuff. Unlike most Americans that think they know everything, Conan's actually willing to learn about Haiti. Gotta respect it.

Conan, this is incredibly beautiful to watch. What a great way to educate us all. ❤️
