I think that a series telling the story of the magos seeking to uncover the truth about Be'lakor would make for a fantastic tale. I don't know what form it would take, but I can see how it goes now: the magos discovers the relics hinting at the daemon prince's identity, and sets out to uncover the mysteries of this 'alien warlord'. He gets further and further wrapped up in his research, never realising he's being played by Be'lakor the whole time, and getting into contact and conflict with numerous personalities on his journey. Eventually, at the climax, with all things said and done, he discovers the truth, but in the worst possible way imaginable, as the daemon decides to show him first hand...
Maybe he was Belakor himself 😲
oh you beat me to it lol
a interaction helps the almighty Algorithm =)
Be’lakor comes to him in his dreams and warns him not to follow his trail, but the main character is stubborn and full of pride to turn away from the knowledge of who and when Be’lakor becomes the Daemon Prince.
-shrouder in mystery
-conflicting origin stories

This is without a doubt Alpharius!

But I’m Alpharius!

Joking dude. How many times has Alpharius died? I'm starting to think he's a perpetual; he always turns up ,like a bad penny, when you least expect him.
Alpharius a daemon prince... idk he didn't do anything out standing to earn his Ascension.
Compared to the rest, he's small fries.

I would actually like to see Archaon and Abaddon fight
I dunno man... Abby aint even got arms to fight with. Nor a horsy that eats daemons. heheh
Failbaddon the harmless couldn't kill anything really.
He killed Sigismund, and Endryd Haar
Abaddon would get easily throw to the side if Archaon even looked at him
Would be a cool fight but abby would win surely. Easy.
He was a good daemon... *lip smack* what a rotten way to be banished
What a shame.
I wish there was something more I could say.
OHFUCK...
BE'LAKORS last words. (For now)
noooo daddy be'lakor *sobbing*
Going by my old theory that Be'lakor used the time bending powers of the warp to travel into the distant past sometime after his ascension, hence why he appears in so many ancient sources, maybe the reason he is obsessed with Abaddon is that he is in fact Abaddon's future self.
A self fulfilling prophecy making sure that Abaddon makes the choices that in turn leads to Belakors creation and thus going back in time to ensure his creation
Abbadon's future self is a successful champion of chaos? This teaches us never to give up hope not even in 40k.
@@phreakazoith2237 but Abbadon wishes to not become bound to the 4 gods
@@velphidrow And as we all know, Abaddon has a talent for achieving exactly the things he does not want to achieve.
@@velphidrow So did Horus at first, Be'lakor still thinks he has free will. Chaos makes you think you are independent even when your free will is gone. The only ones who seem at all capable of using Chaos for their own ends without being entirely enslaved are the Iron Warriors and the Alpha Legion, and they still are used as tools by Chaos, they're just aware Chaos is trying to use them and make an active effort to avoid being used (but it's only slightly working). Maybe the Alpha Legion does think it's still on the path to defeating Chaos by using Chaos without realizing they're just empowering it without ever really weakening it. I think the real reason the Imperium hasn't been crushed by Chaos is because Chaos knew it would be destroyed if they completely won; what better way to empower themselves then creating a state of constant war (Khorne), constant plotting and backstabbing (Tzeentch), entire planets dedicated to debauchery (Slaanesh) and the slow decay of an entire civilization with stagnation (Nurgle).
Story idea: Be-lakor's aiding Abaddon, whose aims he believes will be harmful to the Chaos Gods, out of a desire for revenge.
"Multiversal Singularity" somebody is a Transformers fan i see.
Be'lakor is definitely similar to Starscream.
I was going to make this comment lol
My mean pre fragmented Unicron
Also, also... let us not forget! That Be'lakor has made it into our own realm, via the Australian metal band of his name sake. I, am a Be'lakor evangelist, & I encourage everyone to check out the album Vessels. So good, so we'll done.
Damn good video, on an awesome character! Keep up the good work
I like the idea of Be'lakor being an alien daemon prince. I always wanted there to be more non-human Chaos worshippers and daemon princes, and non-human undead in WH fantasy. Because even if non-humans are far less likely to fall to Chaos, they've been around for much longer.
Humans have traveled the stars for around 37,000 years but older races like Orks and Eldar have been space faring for tens of millions of years. You'd think Chaos would have snagged more aliens just because there's been much much more time for that to happen.
To be fair, there are examples of Chaos Orks, but they are all wiped out by Eldar, humans or other Orks. I think GW kept Chaos to mostly humans so Chaos armies couldn't combine elements from the other factions. I mean, imagine a Khorne army made of Kroot, Goff Orks, World Eaters and Bloodletters on the tabletop.
There were the Laer, they worshipped Slannesh before the Emperor's Children wiped them out.
@John M. what about the chaos gods subconsciously creating Belakor like an immune system activating to protect the host
Same. I love idea of idk... Nurgle Eldars who join him to not get eated by She-Who-Wipe-Asses.
There's Chaos Eldar and an Eldar Daemon Prince in dome of the new Eldar books.
Dark Future artwork is so nostalgic, it will always evoke memories of childhood for me and looking through my brothers White Dwarf magazines
Glad you revisited this character.
Gettin a lot of mileage out of that Zoran clip!
Which I've used... twice before? xD
I remember hearing a story about Sigvald the magnificent, and his time in the chaos realm witnessing impossible sights that sound pretty much like 40k, things like giant flying ships miles long full of armies of warriors battling each other. I think it's a cool idea that the warp connects infinite realitys but at the same time it can be messy when you think about it too much, kind of like Rick and Morty.
Ah, I love it when Fantasy and 40k crosses over
You should check out the Liber Chaotica.
One of the best bits is when the Sigmarite Priest is within the domain of Tzeentch and sees Magnus the Red

Based on how there are supposed to be 4 Chaos lords, my guess is Be'lakor is will either be DLC or a Legendary Hero unit.
@@robertnelson9599 they said there will be 9 legendary lords on launch, not including the pre-launch we will be getting.
So one for each Chaos God, makes 4, and I think we can assume Kieslev and Cathey, will each have two, which makes 8, unless you think the Legendary lords won't be evenly distributed, but assuming they will, that does leave one out.
My personal theory is we will get those 8 lords, and the Warriors of Chaos will get Be'lakor as a new lord, along with a rework.
he's getting a table top model
I think it would be interesting if Be'lakor was perhaps a Xenos whose form (horns, wings, hooves) became the template from which other daemons and Daemon prince took their shape. As in he has kept much of his original form since he ascended. Additionally, though I have no evidence to base this on, of he was one pinnacle of the Old One's first attempts to create a warrior race to fight the War in Heaven, perhaps he slew the rest of his kin and carved out his own empire in the aftermath. Mostly I'd just like to see a warlord of his race leading an Aeldari Exodite warband
That’s by far the coolest idea I’ve seen so far. The idea he’s such a successful daemon that all others that followed based their template on him is just pure badass.
Know what I would love? If somehow Belekor were use his hatred of the other princes as well as the big 4 to ascend into being the god of Chaos Divided. While we may never get Malal, Be'lekor could be a cool substitute and give an interesting endpoint to his story.
Until you mentioned the high probability of Be'lakor coming from Warhammer Fantasy I had a theory. Be'lakor could have been the very last of the Old Ones. Even if this is not the case it does bring up a horrifying possibility of a being with such strong psychic power trading it's soul for survival.
I’m making a Warband that worships this guy, love your videos

@@robertnelson9599 I mentioned it because I'm making a comic about it, The Non-mensional Fuckery. Not only it will have Fantasy and 40K clashing with each other, but it'll also see Doom, Quake, Worm, Commander Keen, Gears of War, Marathon, etc.
@@juliovictormanuelschaeffer8370 I REALLY hope we get a Quake 1 sequel; they've all but confirmed outright that DOOM exists in a multiverse using slipgates to travel between them (the ones from Quake) heavily implying that DOOM takes place in the same multiverse as Quake; maybe they could even get Sandy Peterson to write some of the story for Quake (since he is still really prevalent in Lovecraftian horror, I know he wasn't too impressed with Doom:Eternal but without playing 2016 it's kinda hard to get into it; if he did go through DOOM 2016 first then go through Eternal I honestly think he would really appreciate the direction), imagine if we got to play as Ranger traveling in Lovecraftian realms trying to find a way to return to earth. This time they could include some of the RPG elements they wanted to put in Quake originally (it wasn't even planned to be a shooter, but I don't think they should take that part out). Imagine how good a Quake 1 style art direction would look with IDTech 7 and they environmental artists who worked on DOOM: Eternal. In a lot of ways new Doom is closer to Quake than it is to old Doom (the gameplay is a lot closer to Quake, and some of the areas in DOOM: Eternal look more inspired by Quake then old Doom).
Also who owns the rights for Marathon? I don't know of anything new being done with the IP so it might be in limbo (like how Wolfenstein existed before ID and ID just kinda took it since it was available) but if it's not in limbo does Bungie still own it? Has it even had any official rereleases in recent times?
@@robertnelson9599 well there have bbeen fan fiction like Sigmar was one of the lost primarch.
@@brotheralaric7177 It'll start like this: 12 powerful men and beings from the Prime Veil (aka. our reality) get bored of fighting ISIS and other malcontents. Seeing they have no enemy or something that could interest them here, they combined their knowledge and abilities to find enemies and thrills somewhere else, the fictional worlds.
Due to a _very_ hilarious mishap, the boundaries keeping these Nonverses separate (copyright, tones, differences, etc.) collapse and burn, making them real in their own and opening Rigs from one place to the other.
Examples of the mess include: Doom Slayer finding his father, the Chaos Gods fighting the Elder Gods, Skitter meeting with Cole McGrath, etc.
Wouldn't be surprised if Be'lakor is being manipulated to pit Abadfon and Archaeon against each other. Both are the single most powerful MORTAL Chaos champions in ther respective universes, but also refuse to bow to the Gods themselves.
The Gods would just have to get Be'lakor to pit the two against each other, have them kill each other in the fight and blame Be'lakor for it.
In Age of Sigmar it's outright stated that during Age of Myth in mortal realms, Archaon succesfully conquered several other universes in the name of chaos (which is awesome). At some point he found out about mortal realms and remnants of his old home universe, and was eager to conquer new realms as personal vendetta
This is as perplexing as it is fascinating. I just hope they do something with it. Great video as alway
I hope GW doesn't just drop the Hive Fleet Tiamet lore

@John M. but thats what i mean, about all the vague stuff. I do think they should clarify somethings at least. It opens up more story and merch options when your a author/creator and see all the diff theories fans make so why not expand into the missing lore going off some of the fans theories and in doing so show that we, the fandom, are helping to expand the 'in stone' universe in a more active way. i always figured the Warp was connected to both fantasy and 40k, plus it gives me more support in making my Genestealer Cult Ogors
Be'lakor was a Ctan, influenced by the darkness of the warp even when it was called sea of souls.and since he became a deamon prince he could manifest withought the living metal the necrons used!!!
Kaldor draigo : Where a self made god-king was all that stood againts the ruinous powers
Lizardmens : are we a joke to you ?
NOTHING BAD EVER HAPPENS TO BE'LAKOR!!!!!
Ofuc.....*Banished*
I'd like The Vengeful Spirit to hove into view in the skies of the Mortal Realms. The poor little Kharadron Overlords would be scooting about in panic.
I always thought of Malal or Malice as the "pre-chaos" chaos god. Due to the very contrarian nature of the warp, I like to image that old man Malal was all alone in the warp until slaanesh tore a hole in it, allowing real space to distort his perfect "chaotically neutral" space where everything was in perfectly juxtaposed contradiction.
If we accept this logic as possible, then Be'lakor could easily be his avatar. Instead of being the first prince of chaos undivided he could be their very first adversary and greatest threat. A sort of daemon prince of the warp undivided, which the 4 gods where only just beginning to harness after their births.
Thus the reason they rushed to create their own demon princes was to weaken his influence over their power. Like how their use of the warp space real estate and habitation of the eye and maelstrom (quasi-real-space) would weaken Malal and his kingdom (i.e. the true neutral warp separated from real space).
That is just my head cannon, but I would like if this was the direction they took Belakor. He would make a great anti-chaos-god, instead of a salty scorned prince.
You and Auspex Tactics should do a teamup. I'd likely not know which is which, though.
whoo hoo finally covered a character thats always interested me great work guys
Sleep? No. I have a video to watch.
Same as you
I don’t need sleep, I need answers
I can’t stop hearing this in Dorn’s voice and I have no idea why
I hate to be nit-picky, but I think the Draigo quote is more likely referring to The World-That-Was than the Mortal Realms. Not only does the short story precede the End Times event (published at the end of 2013 while the first End Times book was published in 2014), but, more tellingly, the quote refers to 'magic blowing in the wind.' In the Mortal Realms, magic is an intrinsic part of EVERYTHING, while in the World-That-Was it took the form of transient energy that drifted through the world, energy that was most commonly referred to as the 'Winds of Magic.'
Yes, perhaps I should have been clearer in this regard (it's easy to confuse aspects of WHFB with AoS these days lol). In either case the point about the "multiverse" still stands.
I keep finding it interesting that many Chaos Gods and/or their servants show similarities to the Slann-Mages aka Old Ones in 40k.. Such as the Khornes belly-mouth or Nurgles forms.
Wouldn't a death of a highly psychic being have a response in the warp? And Could not the Chaos Gods be a direct reaction to Old Ones dying, presumably as they made their last gambit via humanity? Not necessarily to aid Humanity but to gain power from them, to fight the Necron and just keep existing, even if twisted and Chaotic form..
Ah yes the showdown that would see an actual competent chaos villain in 40K
“BE’LAKOR IS THE FUNNIEST!”
A very extremely awesome video as always 40k Theories.
You know this reminds of my theory on the orks/orcs that their spores originated from the fantasy world, the old ones found them, thought them interesting, and altered and used them for the war in heaven. That would explain why there isn't any true ork home world in 40k nor any mention of what they were before the war.
The Origin is Warhammer Fantasy Battles, and they figured out that since he was better than Archaon he can be better than Abaddon.
Does Bel’lakor even have to be from either universe? I like to think he was a being from another reality all together and simply has his fun in different universes to try and get the attention of the chaos gods until he is replaced by chumps like Archy boi and Abby. After a proper person from the universe is set up as a champion of chaos, he goes off to another one.
Thought the Thumbnail was Molag Bal for a minute and I got really confused.
Isn't though? Have you ever seen Bela'kor and Molag Bal together in the same room at the same time?
@@j.bat.8235
I mean, regarding the warp, seeing two characters together in the same room doesn’t really prove anything.
@@Gormathius which is a pretty fair point.
Could he perhaps be an Old One? A race that is also not mutually exclusive to the fantasy or 40k universe.
Ummmm not Likely The Old Ones Would Look at the Chaos Gods as If They Were Bugs Because The Old Ones are On The Contrary Could Bring Back The Immaterium (Realm of souls in the Past) back into it's Normal State
Old Ones would shit on Chaos. Look at War in Heaven Aeldar myth. Chaos wasn't born yet during that time. The war created Chaos.
To make my shotgun of an idea a little less dumb, not at a peak of their power as a race Old One. I was thinking more a last desperate survivor of The War in Heaven and Enslavers.
My theory is that he's the time-displaced daemon prince form of Abaddon. This may seem a bit far fetched, but hear me out:
*Both have the favor of all four of the chaos gods, essentially being their ultimate champion, in addition to Be'lakor being said to have been a powerful warlord before ascending, something which Abaddon most certainly is. I get that this is a pretty weak reason, but it's still worth mentioning
*They have very similar attitudes to the Chaos Gods, using their jealousy over them to gain favors from them, and believing themselves to be independent from their control
*It's stated that Be'lakor founded numerous galactic empires, many of them worshipping him as a godlike figure. Given that Abaddon essentially wants to take over the Imperium to become the New God Emperor, this definitely seems like something he would do.
*As many people know, the Warp is a confusing place where a lot of weird stuff can happen, including travelling backwards or fowards In time.
*He wields a big sword, and frequently uses his claws. This ones mostly for fun.
As for what happened to Drachn'yen and his other OP equipment, I have no goddamn clue.
That could be said of the archons from fantasy and sigmar as well. Belakor belongs to neither world.
Oh come on guys, it's obvious that Be'lakor originated from the 40K universe?
After Rogal Dorn Killed Alpharius, the Chaos gods transported Alphy's spirit back to the WHFB universe where he became a mortal champion of chaos and rose to daemonhood. Duh!
Be’lakor is a fascinating character with multiple depths to his motivations and past.
Has there been any examples of a Demon Prince being blessed by more than one God of Chaos but less than all?
If I'm not mistaken Lord Mortkin.
Plot twist: He was a Necrontyr
Fuck that would be actually pretty interesting. Imagine Be'lakor meeting with the Silent King
At this point, I think even he had forgotten what he was and with the toxic environment of the warp, all origins are possible since every state that can be, has happened and never happened.
Me listening to the Mortal Realms connection and thinking Skaven Skaven Skaven heheheeh
New model hype.
Could he be a necrontyr who fell to chaos and ascended to daemon hood before the biotransference?
I think Bel'akor is a necrontir demon prince, by that i mean before the robotic upload of space jellyfish gods.

Rather the hedonisms of the Eldar was merely the blood sacrifice to bring him into
direct contact with the W40K universe where before only his (Or her, whatever is more insulting.) demons

Speaking of, i wonder when the rest of the chaos gods will be reveled? There are 8 points on that chaos undivided
symbol, and the rat god has taken the 5th spot.
And who is in the middle?
The middle is the Great Beast. All the gods together as a whole. Chaos undivided.
Well assuming other chaos gods exist. We need two more because malice takes its place. Quite frankly I don't think the 8 might actually refer to gods but rather the ever consuming power emanating from chaos itself. A spin on the cardinal directions.
@@Aceshot-uu7yx Yeah, that and I also see them fusing together to make a god of chaos united.
But thats me
@@antcow1239 I don't see it happening. The great game itself serves all their interests. It is in essence the center from which its expansion flows. The more gods the more the game expands. There is no winner because to do so would stop expansion they all need.
But if they did combine to one god of chaos united then I think the obvious answer would be them combining into dan abnett, the strongest chaos god of change for completely changing the 40k universe irreparably and expanding it.
@@Aceshot-uu7yx Yeah, probably XD
His age and manipulative nature make me prone to believe he was an Eldar. He's far too subtle yo have been an Ork, and if you look at his head, it's of a somewhat similar shape to the Avatar of Khaine and Eldar helmets.

Lo and behold, Warhammer's greatest tryhard.
What if Be’lakor is either Archaon or Abaddon ?
Rewatching this just in time for us debut for Warhammer 3
I reckon Be'lakor comes back, is enough to tip the scale back into balance, but not into Chaos victory. So the (sometime in our future) Games-ahem-The Chaos forces ascend Abaddon to ascended daemon hood to win the war.
It seems to me that the win condition for Chaos is to plunge a galactic empire of some sort into sustainable chaos worship. Its not enough to just win.
How does this video have 2 views but 6 likes?! Clearly this is the works of the dark gods!
I think it would be cool if you somehow could link belakor to Malal in some way
The moment you mentioned Kaldor I excepted nothing but utter nonsense, cuz well...what else to expect from 40k's resident memelord
Why does belakor have to existed after slaanesh? Or more to the point, why does chaos undivided have to exist after slaanesh?
Undivided doesn't specifically refer to 4 gods, perhaps when belakor first represented chaos undivided it was just undivided between khorne, tzeentch and nurgle, with slaanesh just coming later.
You may wish to keep watching in regards to the "coming after Slaanesh" thing... :P
@@40KTheories ah ok, i was listening in the car and reached my destination. I'll pick it up after.
Cheers.
@@40KTheories Did i miss something? I watched the whole vid and nothing more about slaanesh was said
It was more in regards to how it technically doesn't matter in regards to when Slaanesh was born, since once they come into existence they have by extension always existed, as seen with Slaaneshi daemons running around 65,000,000 years before Slaanesh's creation. By extension this means that Be'lakor can easily have come into existence prior to Slaanesh's birth.
Here's my pointles fanfic:
Be'lakor is an Old One who created Chaos as a weapon to fight the Necrontyr in the War in Heaven. It pooled all negative emotion in multiple dimensions into a force that he could wield to fight multiple C'tans at once, remake destroyed worlds, turn back time, or summon entire armies. Chaos grew in power and intelligence exponentially. Eventually the puppet strings he used to control it became chains that restricted his mind.
Can't wait to see Abaddon and Archeon meet up from this endeavor, only to get buddy buddy and start going on friend vacations and taking walks to the beach. After all, who can the supreme lord of chaos in that universe truly relate to but another supreme lord of chaos?
Couldn’t daemon princes conceivably ascend before the awakening of any of the chaos gods provided they manage to find the source somehow? I mean, based on how events coinciding with their respective domains always heralded their awakening (except in tzeentch’s case this is impossible to identify) presumably each chaos god’s domain is a lot older than the god itself.
