I was so close to ringing Video 125 to ask if we can have a cab ride in a GWR Class 800 from Exeter to London Paddington now I don't need to I'll be definitely getting this in a few weeks.

It is Great to see the new Class 802 Intercity trains (and even two of them). This is seeing the trains in all there glory and see them as a Hypo train running on no electrified line from Exeter and seeing the Electric lines on the GWR line West of Paddington. Great Job, one step closer to the 100 DEV.😊👍🚂

TH Production Wensleydale I have no idea what your comment means.

@@bfapple If you mean Hypo I was hybrid and just using a shorter phrase. On the other hand if you meant the 100 DEV I meant Video 125 are not far off doing their 100 Driver's Eye View Production. Sorry for the Confusion.

Watching this I can still see Electrification extended from Bristol to Exeter but no further then that because of Dalish seawall and also the Cornish Lines being so close to the coast. That's my thought I don't know about anyone else.

Nice to see you've wheeled out Rob Curling again. Sounds just like your old underground videos I have!

Indeed and if one has the whole collection of London Underground DEV's they would be able to tell how Rob's voice tone had changed over the years from 1989 onwards.

@@DKS225 doesn't sound much different. Maybe a bit slower delivery?

That is what I've been waiting for ever since those new IETs entered service on the Great Western Main Line (GWML) in 2017. Nice! I'll look forward to getting this one because the GWML is local to me.

This looks brilliant! Wasn't expecting a mostly non-stop run and for it to go all the way to Paddington! Not many cab rides finish at a London terminus as most start from one when London is involved, such as Euston to Crewe or Kings Cross to Edinburgh. Also this is the first cab ride in a new IET right? I think they're good trains, they look nice in the GWR green and interiors are ok but not as comfy overall as the HSTs. Will look at picking this one up :)

Technically, what is shown is the Reading-Taunton line, which runs through 3 previous, separately planned railways.
The Berks & Hants Railway runs from Reading, splitting after Reading West, heading West through Hungerford, and south to Basingstoke.

It is very clearly filmed on a very clear day. It glides along mostly at 100 mph. It just seems a fairly average speed for a train that could do 140. It is a DVD well worth getting.
It is an effective commuter train that is often extended through Cornwall.
Be warned that there is no buffet car.
